Around 11-30 am - 11-45 am this morning (Thursday, December 18, 2025) went to Target in Burke, VA to purchase a gift card. This is just about 8 days before Christmas and store is almost empty, only one register open and rest are all self-checkout. I did not know that I could buy a gift card at self-checkout so I asked the Target employee in that are and she was not a bit interested in helping. Such a poor customer services. No wonder Target as a retail store is struggling. They can blame all they want on the online giants but they need to pay attention to customer service. The way this store is functioning they will be closing it. So sad when corporations fail to do the root cause analysis. I've called this phone number for an order pickup (for someone else) SEVERAL times over the last week and no one answered the phone. Very poor customer service. When the young lady went to pick up the items that I bought her from her wishlist, they told her the items were no longer there, even though I had the email stating they'd hold the items until 1/1. Would be nice if ANY of the departments would answer the phone so I can see what's going on. read more

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever! Took my wife to this location today as it is closest to our home in Burke. Was attended by Parisa! Whom apparently is a manager there, well she was highly annoyed through facial expressions and sidebar comments that we had taken our toddlers target brand clothes in for a refund in order to get new clothes for the school year. "This is a program offered through Target" unfortunately we did not have receipts but did have the card and are target circle users. (Thermal printed receipts do not last very long) Anyhow Parisa was bothered because now she would have to manually enter the sku number from the garment to look it up. Bothered, she went to her store walkie talkie to ask for an associate to assist. She can be heard saying that "she does not have time for this" and then went to mu wife and flustered told her that she could not do this. Again as a manager she needs to understand that the retail business is busy and if you cannot manage your duties then this is not the business to be in. Talking down to your customers, and having an attitude is not a good look that does not abide by Target's mission and values. I do appreciate Jacob for attempting to assist and showing empathy towards the situation. To Parisa: never judge your customers when you work in retail sales. What used to be the best, is now among the worst. If you like super long lines, even with self checkout, you'll want to go here. What a dump and when corporate, tries to reach the store and it can't, that's another sign of decline. My last several trips here have been disastrous. Too few employees and the whole county shopping at one time. Other Targets in the area are well run, and with a semblance of accountability. Yesterday showed again why I don't like this one. Having stood and asked eight separate employees for assistance, with the video games, it wasn't until I went up to the front door customer service. Not one employee responded to the call button. I even informed two guy's working loss prevention. Nothing. They seem like nice enough fellows, and did radio for assistance which never showed up. This store is often out of items as well. You are best served going to another, or there's a Walmart half a mile away. That's better operated than this. What an embarrassment. Just go elsewhere, as their increased prices obviously aren't helping with employee retention or motivation. read more

Horrible Customer Service. Same building, different store. My wife loves Target and we visited Target in person for the first time since 2020. My wife and I saw this air purifier on sale while in store. We went home and did some research to make sure it is a good product. I return on the following day, on the 27thof September to make the purchase, only to discover this sale item has expired on the 18th at the check out counter. Since the sale sticker is still on the floor, the Target I knew always honored that price. Instead, Target would not honor it. Furthermore, manger did not offer any discount or incentive for me to come back to Target. Also Target should timely replace their on sale stickers to help customers make the right purchasing decisions. Overall, this was a bad shopping experience. Lesson learned, Target no more. Also I want to applaud The young lady at check out who was trying to help. She recognized that Target honored on sale stickers as along as it is on the floor. 8/1/21 While shopping, my wife and I found this target which is new to use. I do remember when this place was being built, but we had never seen it until today. Today we were greeted by the sight of some very short shorts on a person that showed off a lot of cheeks. We didn't mind, but people of Walmart did come to mind. The store was brightly lit and nicely decorated. One of the very first things I saw was the Starbuck's Coffee shop. A mango fruit refresher came to mind, but we kept on walking. However, the power of the dark side was tempting. The force was strong with us and we made it to the makeup area. The place was brightly lit and well maintained. It is the style my wife has come to like a certain Target stores. I myself took more comfort in the men's underwear section. I love the Pair Of Thieves under shirts and tank tops in XL size. I am not a V-neck type of guy so I go for the crew neck myself. I also buy 96% of the time black under shirts. Eventually my goal is to replace all of my Underarmour shirts with the Pair Of Thieves undershirts. Yesterday I found a tear in one of my Pair Of Thieves socks...OH NO!!? the idea of getting it fixed came to mind. Yes, I like those socks very much, but I can buy more. Today I found a hole in one of my purple extended breifs underwear. It is an Underarmour purple color which they do not have for sa Pair Of Thieves underwear right now in a solid color...now that I have said that, I will find many options, but I digress. After picking out black XL crew neck under shirts, we walked around and ended up in the kids toy section. We looked at the girls play dolls and saw just how much detail, clothing styles, makeup, move abilities and realism went into these dolls. These dolls to me are more of a collection then to play with. I could see myself buying one set to play with and the other set to be only looked at...eye candy if you will. The Jade Hunter was my favorite, but I did like the twin pack set too. My wife and I favored the Twin Holly De' Vious more than her sister Laurel De' Vious. Guess its those dark colors and purple highlights that got our attention. After looking at the toys, we headed for the mouth wash and found the twin pack of the mouth wash we like. The price for both were outstanding. Everything we aquired was fairly priced and checking out was quick and easy. There is a very good chance I will be coming back here to get my wife's makeup. I will be on the look out for more. Oh, and the men's bathroom was nice and clean. read more

This is my local Target being about 5 minutes down the street so I am here quite often. It looks relatively new (or newly designed) and is always clean. It is typically well-stocked with the exception of I noticed they do not really carry furniture here when I was looking for a toddler bed. There is a Starbucks immediately on the right when you enter. Customer service is right next to it, and, in case you were wondering, they DO currently have the free baby registry gift bag! Their alcohol selection is more varied than some Targets I've visited. They also are in full swing for Halloween! A Target is a Target is a Target-but some are better than others and this location is definitely one of the nicer ones I have been to in the area! read more

Going to this Target used to be an outstanding shopping experience. I would sometimes go with nothing on my list but leave with a cart full of stuff and enjoyed the trip. Now it has become a chore and all because they keep all the cashiered checkouts closed, forcing everyone into a long self-checkout. MAYBE they'll open a single lane. Hey. Burke Target if you want to differentiate yourselves and provide a better shopping experience than the Walmart a few blocks away then why not maintain superior service instead of seeking the lowest common service. I used to love to come to target however lately is a bit of an inconvenience as the shelves aren't stock property by item and price. Sadly if I go in an that item is on the wrong shelf with no price and isn't a scanner near I walked out. Today I grabbed 9 bags of candy to see which one was under the sale sign that was posted on that candy isle on the wrong shelf. Only 3 of them match the sale criteria. So I left the other bags as nobody have time to walk all the way back to the halloween candy aisle to play Mitch and match games. They did match a price from Amazon kudos to that! Still I could have order my one item with one click from my comfy recliner. Hope they put they "candy" together before the holiday rush. read more

ALERT! This is a review specifically about this stores food section. This store has sold outdated and EXPIRED food on multiple occasions. My experiences were prior to Covid-19 and I forgot to write a review, however want to ensure others are aware in case it hasn't shaped up. I have browsed through their "fresh" food section a few times and have found meat, soups, and other refrigerated items still on the shelves when they were several days past their expiration date. I specifically saw it with the easy to bake/cool meats such as their Parmesan chicken or their refrigerated soups. The first time it happened I was in a rush to get dinner and grabbed some meat in a hurry. When I got home I noticed it was expired. No big deal, I thought, must have been a "fluke". I trashed it and was annoyed, but wasn't concerned. I ordered from Shipt at the same location- the shopper brought back expired meat and soup. That's when I got concerned. I ended up checking back in the store 1-2 times after just to make sure and found the same issue. I called corporate with details and pictures of the proof-they gave me the typical "we are so sorry" spiel. I demanded they make a change as this is a serious health and safety concern. I asked for a follow up- of course they were "not allowed" to call back. However they did give me their corporate address to send a letter. Seriously. Honestly it's sickening that such a huge brand can't have more concern for it's customers. Think about someone who works, running late into the store, and innocently grabs something to cook and gets sick? I would give this store 0 stars if I could, just for the fact that it's lax policy on checking EXPIRATION dates shows a serious lack of concern for it's customers. read more

My one star review is to the DREADFUL employees this place always seems to have an abundance of. Very hostile stuck up attitudes they huff and puff at you as they almost take you out with one of their carts. The woman who resembles Willy Wonka is especially rude as she marches in front of customers to cut them off and acts like we are the inconvenience. Meanwhile she is tearing apart the whole store to do new floor sets mid day blocking off sections so no one can access them. New management needs to be put in place immediately at this establishment!!!! Go to the Fair Lakes location it is much bigger and pleasant employees! read more

Usual Target offerings here, though their grocery section is larger than at some stores and the store seems either pretty new or else the recently renovated. The main advantage of this location is that it's standalone rather than in a strip mall so you can get a parking space with less of a hassle and there's surface parking rather than an annoying parking garage. It also seemed a little less crowded than some other locations in the area but maybe I just got lucky with my timing. read more

The "black shirt" kid was busy reading his Harry Potter novel when I walked up and her barely took time to glance at the phone before he said it was beyond fixing and I should buy a new phone. I have to begin by saying the Starbucks inside of this location never has my beverage! However, of course I know that's not a target issue just something I would like to share. Don't expect to have a strawberry açaí while being here! Let's get into target, this location unfortunately doesn't really restock their product quite often. I'm not sure if it's because they sell out or they just don't restock. Can be very messy with everything just all over the place. Bathrooms are very dirty. The grocery section is horrific at times. They never have a gallon of organic milk. On the bright side, this target does have very kind workers. I have never encountered a problem with a employee. Great customer service. Management is horrible but staff/ team does best with what management let's them do it they aren't down there throats. Has a good Starbucks and tech department however the flow is a no. All management did was yell when busy instead of helping with simple matters. Seeing managers act like they're the shit and all high and mighty is not worth dehumanizing or treating employees wrong. There are great perils involved when living so close to places like Target. Namely, threats against one's financial well-being. Shiny doodad for Christmas spirit from the bargain bin? Check. As a virtually one-stop shop, Target delivers in many ways. The Target in Burke is a nice option and is situated conveniently off of Guinea Road and by the Burke Centre VRE. There is ample parking. The Burke Target has undergone a glorious and much-needed renovation, and I'm thrilled! Though long (long long long long long long) overdue, we finally have a Starbucks!! They've also rejiggered the layout a bit, rearranged the clothing sections (was very pleased to see such a variety of mannequins sizes!) and added some new highlighted / featured areas (Harry Potter and Hearth & Home by Joanna Gaines). I made the grave mistake of coming in the afternoon on the Monday of the week school is due to start back, so it was a little bit nuts inside. Luckily I wasn't looking for any office supplies, because there was nary a notebook or set of pencils in sight -- the place had been cleaned out! Despite the crowds, the aisles were still pretty clean and in good shape though. While I'm thrilled that there is a Starbucks here now, unfortunately the single employee working there was suuuuuuuper slow. Really nice! But slow AF. By the time I got to the counter, I ended up just getting a plain cold brew with nothing in it bc I was done waiting (and also very conscious of the long line that had formed behind me.) I also don't know if maybe Target just didn't anticipate being as busy as it was (hence the one Starbucks employee), but there were also not a lot of registers open. I was able to go straight through via the self-checkout though, so all's well that ends well. And I came in for a helium tank and gallon of milk and left with an extra $100 worth of baby clothes and Harry Potter pajamas, so clearly Target still knows how to cast its spell! read more

Came earlier then they expected so I guess they punished me by waiting 10mins and letting 6 other pick up orders that came after me get their stuff first... The Burke Target does not have the floorspace of many of the other Target locations, but it usually has what one needs during a "Target run". Its most recent renovation occurred in 2018. The grocery area was completely redone, with wider aisles and more eyecatching displays. I find it easier to to fined grocery items in the new arrangement. Groceries are an important reason to shop here, for the prices are less than at competing supermarkets like Giant. The drugstore aisles have also been rearranged, with familiar items still in stock. The Target Pharmacy is now operated by CVS. Men's and women's clothing has taken on a Millennial tread. I find fewer men's clothes suited for me, so must go to Khol's. The traditional Target food counter, with hot dogs and popcorn has been replaced with a Starbuck's. I am not a Starbuck's fan, but I know this change will appeal to many. Overall, a very good Target, still reliable for groceries and housewares. read more

Target that is closest to my house. Parking is never too bad as it is mainly for locals (as opposed to Merrifield). The have a decent grocery section and the rest of the Target is standard. Pretty clean and orderly. The lines have never been terribly long for me. The only thing that was annoying was how much they tried pushing their credit card, even though I said No thanks several times. I also wish it had a Starbucks, but can live without it. read more

It is Target. Nothing special. The renovation does make it nicer compared to the Target in Fair Lakes but there is still a lot to be improved on. The more times I go I see things that do not belong. The prices are getting more and more expensive while the quality of the clothes have stayed the same. If I have the time I would choose to go to the one in Merrifield but for convenience, this store works. read more

The staff here are helpful and pleasant. I find this location particularly good when it comes to their clearance women's clothing selection. The only issue that I have is their parking lot. People constantly drive through the parking spots rather than the aisles and I've nearly had cars hit me on several occasions because of people doing this without being cautious of the blind spots caused by the parked cars. The handicap/wheelchair accessible parking is plentiful but the spots closest to the entrance are so close that you are almost constantly having to dodge pedestrians as they are exiting the store while backing out of these spots. I would recommend the wheelchair accessible spots in the aisles further from the door. read more
