I was waiting for the comeback of combo pizza, but this will do. If you go during the weekdays, wait time is about 5 minutes. However, on weekends, expect to wait at least 15 minutes. I like how Costco has many locations nearby and a good automotive center. They always have products I like and so many free samples offered of their new products. What does concern me is that I had many miscommunications with Costco over membership price and never got the discount I was promised by Costco when I got it. This is the closest Costco to me and after one year of being a member (yes I know, still a rookie) I figured I would do a review. A quick guide for those interested in alcohol: Virginia allows wine to be sold in Costco, Maryland has a total alcohol ban, and DC allows both wine and hard liquor. Keep that in mind when choosing a location. As far as the good aspects of this location: 1) there are two ways to enter the parking lot and real OG Costco members know to use the entrance a little farther down the road to enter around back. There are always spaces in that area compared to going Mad Max style to fight everyone in the front entrance. 2) it appears that they may eventually offer gas here, as evidenced by a flat cement area being developed in the back (although I making an assumption here). 3) the check out lines and food area seem to run very efficiently and the return line seems much less crowded than other locations. And now some of the bad aspects: 1) you could sneak in here at 3 am as a burglar and probably still find a thousand people shopping inside. Apparently no one coming to this location has to work because I have found it to be packed no matter when I go. 2) The light where you turn left to head toward the entrance is usually packed with cars coming here. Two turn lanes are backed up pretty much constantly all day. Because of the massive influx of cars from this light, the front parking entrance to the store is like a bad driver's ed movie. 3) the area where you wait for your food and then eat is really close to the check out lanes so you get quite a traffic jam of carts between those waiting for a hot dog and those trying to exit. The amount of benches to sit at seems rather minimal for how crowded it gets here. This also creates a jam of carts that people leave so they can go sit down and eat. Really the overall feel of the store is that it wasn't quite built to handle the amount of people visiting (although is any Costco really built for the constant crowds of people coming in and out?) Overall I am glad that I have this store close to me, but it's not my favorite location. read more

I came to Costco tire store on September 2nd, 2025 to change my car's 2 front tires. I chose BF Good Rich tire brand. 300 something for each, so l paid almost 700$ to change them. After I went home, the tire on passenger side lost the air all the time. I had to filled air for that tire few times. I wondered there is no way it would happened. I just paid nearly 700$ to change my 2 front tires. Then I found out only the tire on driver side is right ones, the one on passenger side is very old and not same kind. So, I went back there to ask them. They said that they did right job, because they did rotation 2 back tires to the 2 front tires. So now the 2 tires in the back were right ones. And the 2 front tires is my old ones. I said even you change them then 2 front tires were still new and same kind (Michelin) no way it different kind and one is old, one is new as this because I just change them few month, too. The Point is I asked them to change my car's 2 front BF Good Rich tires not Michelin, second, I didn't ask or hear anything about they did my car rotation. I know I can't do nothing to this. But God is everywhere and knowing everything. He will judge people who did wrong and unfairness. read more

Still despise it. There are some people who love Costco, while others loathe it. Am in the second camp, and best decision was getting rid of my "membership." You can save more without Costco. Parking here is a cluster. Good luck not getting hit by the masses, who have huge grocery carts. This location is always full, no matter what hour you go in. Best to avoid it completely. The people whom work here are super polite and helpful. Yet the crowds do overwhelm, and checkout is an experience. The parking lot is where to, definitely be very aware of your surroundings. This just doesn't justify the throngs. Only reason had to go back, was to pick up prescriptions for a relative. They do have good pharmacy prices, but I'll go elsewhere. read more

I guess this Costco is ok. I'm not a fan of the big box concept. I have a household of , at most 3 (humans), and just don't really see a benefit here when purchasing for a small household. This location also has no gas station so boo when Costco members (aka grandparents) come and want to fill up your car. I do like browsing the specialty clothes, toys, and books. I'll usually leave with something. I did get my TV here and I'm a fan of it. My toddler enjoys their (cut-up) hot dogs and chocolate soft serve. My parents live in a state where Costco doesn't sell alcohol so I can assure y'all we will be back so they can bring items home . read more

The Springfield Costco can be bustling at peak hours! They offer appliances, auto/tires, items for babies and kids, clothing, handbags, computers/printers, electronics, furniture, hardware, health and beauty products, home/decor items, jewelry/watches, office products, patio/outdoor items, items for pets, and travel/luggage items. Check-out lines can be backed up, but the employees try to work as efficiently as possible by directing the lines to self-checkouts and to cashiers. Just note that if you are at a self-checkout, if you run into any issues with scanning or looking up an item, it can take a while for assistance. The 'food court' dining-in area can be monitored more in terms of wiping down the tables/seats. BLUF: poor customer treatment, poor quality furniture This comment is about customer service at the warehouse and the quality of some furniture bought there. We purchased a "leather" sofa set from the warehouse. Relatively quickly it started to fall apart. The "leather" flaked off, even on parts that didn't get sat on or touched. On those parts that touched each other, the "leather" wore right off. So we went to return it. - First, the people at the customer service desk laughed at my wife. Right off the bat, total BS treatment. - Then they said "that wasn't real leather, if it was real leather it would have said Grain Leather, not Leather." How the heck could we know that? - They told us we could have known more from reading the box. Well, it wasn't in a box when we bought it. And even then, would the box have said "not real leather, fake stuff?" - Then they said "look at the price. you had to know it wasn't real leather." Really? Costco touts it's great deals, and how they have all this buying power to get good deals. They made us haul our own couch to the car and home to save on overhead costs. Heck yea, if you say you give good deals, we figured we got a good deal. - Then they said even real leather wears out. Sure it does. I have a sofa that is near 20 years old made of leather, and it's kinda worn. But that's 20 years. I've seen leather furniture in medieval castles still holding up. The warehouse manager then told us no return, as it's normal wear and tear. Again, even though the places it was flaking apart are literally not touched. Beware of what you are buying there. Poor treatment all around. It's one thing to deny a return, it's another to belittle a customer for asking. read more

Review for Costco Newington #227 Our large family had been great client for Costco in Fairfax and anywhere when we traveled. Our regular Costco is this one in Newington #227 Springfield. We had been treated so badly from the register REINA R a few times and we always tried to avoid her but today unfortunately, we didn't notice her until we got closer to her register. She must be a racist, she yelled at us as she thought we don't understand English when we told her the item she was about to ring up wasn't ours and she rolled her eyes. The attitude continued when she realized that my sister who visited me wasn't a member (but I am a long time member), she yanked the credit card from my sister's hand and yelled again at us instead of just explaining nicely that it must be me who is the member to pay for my sister's purchase. We walked out of this Costco in shock for having such sad experience here, how could Costco keeps this bad representative for long time and never resend her for training for customer services. So this is for the optical department ONLY! I had heard that they have a great optical department so I decided to give them a whirl since I need new glasses. They are not around the corner from my house so this was going out of my way to go check them out. Upon walking up to the counter, I was greeted by the manager who in turn asked on of his employees to assist me. I was then approached a warm and friendly young lady, who took my temperature and walked me through the COVID expectations for trying on glasses; they go in a special bin to be sanitized instead of back on the shelf. That's where any and all assistance ended. There was another customer there with her husband and they had an employee walking them around, engaging them in trying on glasses while trying to ascertain her tastes & style. The employee was very attentive to her customer but at the same time there were three other employees behind the counter & not one of them offered me any assistance. I was very disappointed because I had heard so much about their selection and pricing so I was hopeful to find an awesome pair of glasses. I have specific needs and it would have been super helpful if I had been shown were to find those frames or even approached to see if I had any questions. Needless to say, I left frustrated at the very stark difference in customer service that was given to one person but not to others. I live around the area so I come here often for groceries. Spacious, clean, great selection of offerings for all types of products. Bathroom is clean. The self-check out area helps speed up the check out process a lot. Checked out their tire shop today to repair my tire and great customer experience with the staff who helped me. Be prepared to wait for a while for your service since lots of people come here to get service, but the folks are really quick in checking out and perform the service. The sign on the door said no appointment necessary but I would still make an appointment to be safe. I placed an appointment at 5:45p but brought my car in early at 5:20p, saw a staff right away and he told me they can look at my car right away. I went to get my groceries done and came back out at 6:15p and the person who checked out my car came to inform me that I need to replace my tire but it can be done in 20 minutes since my tire is in stock. I was lucky that my tire type was in stock, but was very happy to hear that the replacement can be done right here at the same appointment and will not take long. read more

He warehouse is fine. The tire center is abysmal. Went to have tires changed. They did not have in stock so they ordered them. I made an appt for the following week when they said they would be in. They called and said the tires did not arrive you will need to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following week. Get to the tire center 30 minutes early for my appointment. Drop the keys with the desk. An HOUR and a HALF later they tell me they ordered the wrong tires 'but we have have other tires in stock if you want us to put them on. It'll be an extra charge'. At this point I'm like 'sure' it was only $5 more per tire. TWO HOURS later they were finally on my car. Customer service was terrible! People (angry) waiting 3 hrs for services they made appointments for. Employees did not care. All the employees looked miserable. Do not recommend! Will not be back. read more

Decent Costco. I honestly think this Costco is much better than the one in Fairfax. I've never had any bad experiences at the pharmacy, vision center, tire center, and overall store. Employees are usually always nice and it never gets messy. They also have self check-out registers now, too. The only thing is, make sure you check the dates on the produce because I bought some apples one time and they were a couple days expired. The good thing is that returning items at Costco is really easy, albeit the long line they usually have at customer service. Do yourself a favor and order yourself the soft-serve when you're here. Best dang soft-serve I've ever had in my life! It's so good and creamy to the point where I feel naughty eating it. This is our favorite Costco to come to in the area! Costco is a great place to come shopping, especially if you like getting toilet paper and paper towels in bulk. You can get pretty much anything here, your weekly groceries, flowers for the spring/summer. Flowers for specific occasions like valentines day or just because you want to surprise you wife. Some of the things we love getting here are the TP, Paper Towels, Chicken Taquitos, deserts (Half Sheet Cakes are delicious and only $18). The food court is really good too, and cheap. You can get a large pizza for $10, but this large is really like an extra large. You can also get frozen yogurt, salads, hot dogs and more. You can now also make purchases with visa credit cards now, whereas before, they only accepted debit cards! read more

Not my normal Costco but was close to where I was at the time, so I ducked into the Springfield location to get NYE dinner. Specifically, I was looking for Alaskan King Crab Legs and lobster tails - you know, the ones they typically sell at a booth right before every major holiday? Couldn't find them and so asked Steve, the MOD. He pointed me to the right direction. I meandered over that way, putting this and that into the cart as I went. It IS Costco, right? I mean that's what you do, right? Look, I don't make the rules. Saw Steve again, or, rather, he saw me as I was meandering. Despite how busy he must've been a couple of days before the holiday with a packed store, he came back up to me to make sure I found what I was looking for. Not only that, he walked me over to show me the different locations the product could be found, in different quantities. That's pretty amazing today. But the 5-stars is for overhearing a conversation I shouldn't have heard. While meandering, I saw Steve talking with an employee. I then heard Steve comforting the employee for what was obviously a family situation. He offered the employee all sorts of support. Yeah, see, I love me a good deal. I love me a good person even more. Way to go, Steve. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face. Good prices on good products delivered in a clean, safe environment is great. When all of that is delivered by "hands on" management who actually give a damn about their employees, it's even better. Thank you. read more

This Costco is located in Springfield/Newington. It has a tire center, food court (with FRENCH FRIES), and a photo center. Unfortunately, they do not have a gas station (as of now....) It is busy during the evenings (after people get off work) and weekends. Like other Costcos, they offer competitive prices for bulk items and offer a wide variety of items from food to furniture to nifty gadgets. They usually offer samples of things/food during the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). They also have several sales going on every week, so make sure to check out that catalog they send to your home to see what types of things they have specials on! It's a great place to grab a lunch for the family of you are out and about as well. We love their French Fries (which we haven't seen at other Costcos), the chicken bake, and salad. read more

This Costco is so convenient, so close to our home. Try to hit Costco to stock up on water, paper towels, and other household essentials along with other bulk items for the house. I order my contacts here and sometimes order new glasses as needed basis and they have great prices. They even carry a lot of organic products as well. :) We also get the puppy potty mats, it's only $13.99 per box(much cheaper than pet store). I booked. I came and they were "not staffed enough for an appointment" and told me that the online system is not connected to their store booking system. I typically come to this store as it's a little less busy than Pentagon City. I can usually find what I am looking for and the lines aren't as long. Today I discovered the optical section (which was busy!) and that there were some frames I had been looking for. After completing that transaction I attempted to grab the last of my purchases, a box of ice cream (didn't want it to melt while I was in the optical section). Although it was 6:10pm I figured j could just grab the box of ice cream and check out... NOPE! I was stopped by a guy named Kieran and was she would have a foreman to grab them despite there being another lady back there shopping. I explained exactly what I was getting and where it was, I was promptly and rudely cut off and told he understands and would have someone else to get it clearly frustrated. He yells to someone to get what I was looking for and the guy goes looking for it. After a minute or two he didn't turn up with the ice cream so he tells me I would have to keep it moving and he would have the guy to bring me the ice cream. I explained I was planning to checkout, I was once again cut off and told he understood but I had to keep moving. Eventually after this interaction I stated I didn't want to purchase anything from the store and just abandoned the cart with him. I would've expected better customer service than this. Sigh! We have been Costco members since the 90's and I have to say I'm super disappointed with this Costco's bakery and meat section. Truly everything else is the same as all the other Costco's in the area. We got a package of croissants that were dry and stale and we got ribs that were so dry and tough no amount of sauce could make it better. This was the day before Christmas and when we went to eat them it was a massive disappointment. I've never had a problem at other Costco's with their in house goods except this one. read more

Most of us have been to a Costco. I've been addicted to the place since long before they merged with Price Club. This review will cover the battery exchange for my vehicle. I purchased a "Kirkland" battery for my SUV before I moved to the East Coast from California about four years ago. Recently, I needed to charge the battery so it was time to replace it. I called in advance and it was determined that my battery was 52 months old. So it fell under the 50% coverage since it was a 100 month battery. I pulled the old battery out and returned it. They credited me $42.50 plus the $15 core charge. So my net cost was about $45 for the new Interstate battery. They informed me that this battery was only guaranteed for 36 months but that it would be replaced and not pro-rated. So if it fails after 35 months, I get a 100% free replacement. I worried that I didn't have the receipt, but they were able to find my purchase based on my membership number. I installed the new battery and spent some time setting up my radio and mirror settings and away I went. They made the process fairly quick and painless. About only drawback to this location is the lack of a gas station. read more
