My favorite Costco to shop in the area, ample parking and fewer customers than Pentagon City Costco. It would be perfect if Costco would bring back the English crumpets they previously sold and served as samples. Otherwise, we can find organic fruit, quality meat and scrumptious baked goods and a great selection of vino. Our family would be over the moon if the crumpets returned and we could enjoy with Nutella! The plant department definitely deserves praise, from gorgeous hydrangeas to potted plants you can place on your doorstep over each season brings a smile. read more

Let's start by me acknowledging that I am a huge Costco fan, and have been a member for years. This store is well-stocked, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Is it perfect? No, not even close... but it's not their fault. The lot is too small. The store is built on the site of the old Mt Vernon Multiplex, which closed in 2007 or so. It's jammed in between Ladson Lane and the Wal-Mart. And while I love the cheap Costco gas, sometimes I wish they'd get rid of the pumps and use the space for parking, as more than once I've simply been unable to find a spot -- and getting out of the lot can take 20 minutes. The crowd outside means there's a crowd inside. The management does a good job of keeping checkout lanes open, and of course the checkers are amazingly fast and efficient, but there's really no place for shopper to queue up. So they fill the aisles waiting their turn, and if you're just trying to get some Cliff bars up front, you have to navigate through a bunch of impatient folks waiting to check out. Again, it's not the store's fault that they're popular, and if they cleared a bunch of merchandise lanes to dedicate to checkout space, it would mean less stuff or higher prices. I get the issue. So for me, I try to take advantage of the Executive early hours and do my shopping then: Never a problem finding a spot, and I'm in and out in record time. read more

Lots to report on for this Costco... I think this is my favorite NOVA Costco, except for the pizza... it was dry and not good like normal Costco pizza. The staff here are SO friendly and fun!! Especially the free sample workers. They deserve a promotion! We also tried the new Double Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae which was AMAZING!!! Great value as it's $2.99 for a sundae that can be easily split by three people. Chocolate syrup, mint and vanilla soft serve ice cream swirl, chocolate pieces...you are in for a treat!! I highly recommend trying this while it's here. It tastes like a thin mint. Parking lot here is way nicer than other locations with large parking spaces. read more

Been going to this Costco for a few years and it's always got your basic Costco stuff in stock (water, paper, snacks, chicken, etc.) Does it get busy? Yes especially afternoons and evenings and weekends. But overall would not go to other Costcos that are even busier on the weekends. My only issue is this one has a weird parking lot, which took awhile to figure out as it is awkward to enter this Costco, unlike other costcos that have a pretty easy entrance to figure out. The service is like at every place and is really great, I have no complaints. And do I need to say much about the value because that is what Costco is all about- a good value! The gas line goes by pretty quickly however again, with the weird parking lot design , the gas line can cause traffic jams pretty easily. read more

A Costco run is always an adventure. Surprisingly, at this location, the worst part about this location was the parking lot. As with any location, that is not a huge surprise. The surprise came when we went inside. Even though the parking lot appeared to be packed, it felt like there were a lot of customers missing inside. Or maybe it was because we were on a mission and knew exactly where we needed to go in the store. And maybe it was because we were the only one in the section. We were able to grab everything we needed quickly and make our way to the checkouts. Here we were surprised to. There wasn't much of a line. We got through here really quick. I arrived around 8:45 to avoid typical crowd on Saturday mornings! The store opened at 9 am. Just like everyone in the line I walked into store and once I scanned my card, which was validated. The store rep (ROGER) stopped me and indicated that only executive members can enter and other members have to wait until 9:30. I politely asked why this information was not shared on website as a general information to avoid wasting precious customer time. I told him, I drive 35 minutes to be here on time. The very rude ROGER started to get into my face and asked me to go outside of store! Seriously!!!!! instead of helping me to make this easier, he was a complete out of line with no respect for customer. The rep name is ROGER, make sure you wave to him, since he can't do his job right dealing with customers. He doesn't realizes that WE the customers are the core of Costco business model. Everyone already has their opinion about Costco. I do find a lot of people that don't even live on this side shop at this location. Ample parking. Clean bathrooms. New gas station installed. Free nitrogen air for your tires. This location also has a great selection of brands and product availability. You cant go wrong with the $4.99 rotisserie. If you show up on a Sunday loafin'... them rotisseries will be gone by the time you get out of church. Neighboring grocery stores charge between $8-$12 for rotisseries and you don't get as much. I almost stopped coming here on the weekend because the traffic was just too crazy. But when they start giving out those samples... it's well worth it. You get to try new products that you wouldn't have considered before. I love the new self check out. I also love how they generally have two people at the exit checking receipts to make leaving quicker. However! ... they have to do something about these long lines. I took off a star because these lines are hectic. You don't know where to stand. If its crowded, you cant see to the far right if lines are open. Hot mess. We had a very humiliating experience here today, at around 3-4pm . I want to be clear: I take full responsibility that my toddler stood up on the table for a moment. It was an honest mistake and happened quickly. However, the way the dreaded short hair staff/cashier handled it was completely unacceptable. Instead of walking over and politely asking us to get him down (which we would have done immediately), the cashier screamed at us across the room. It caused a huge scene and everyone stared at us. I was never a regular shopper at Costco but I do join every few years when I need glasses or tires. Buying tires there is hideous experience even with an appointment. Sitting hours in that awful food court with children crawling all over you. So I had decided I was never going to buy tires there again. Except . . . The last time I bought tires my car was 18 years old and I had one TPNS that was failing, so I bought five of them one for each tire because Lexuses have a full tire spare in the trunk which is attached to the sensor. Within a year one of them had died. Had an appointment another 2-1/2 hours in Costco with children crawling all over me. And this month a second one of them died. Made another appointment told them it had been a year and a few months since I got my tires and the TPNS. They told me if I made the first appointment it should go a lot quicker. So I made the appointment and then they tell me that my TPNS only have a year warranty and so the part is out of warranty. You would think they could have told me that when I was making the appointment since I told them how long it had been since I had them installed. Plus the product they are putting on cars is total crap if they're dying after a year or even 2 years. My last sensors lasted 18 years and they are supposed to last up to 10 years. So whatever Costco is putting on their cars is an inferior product. Anyway I will probably won't have this car by the time it needs another set of tires but I will also never go to Costco again. read more

The gas is nice and convenient but let me tell you this place is always busy and the women at the front are RUDE. I get that it stays busy and you're in customer service but they are not friendly in the least. A smile or hello goes a long way. I appreciate Costco for the food and deals but I'd rather go to Walmart or a normal grocery store. Very few items are actually worth the bulk price. Located on Route 1 / Richmond Hwy, has a gas station and tire center. Not as busy as the Fairfax location and Woodbridge location but it can get fairly busy and packed. Like, I went on the weekend 2 times and left because I could not find a spot. Cars were parked parallel to the curbs near 123 (not parking spots). For the most part, I feel like I get good service from the employees. Usually the employees at the check out (both self check out and with the clerks) are nice and keep the line moving. They have a good selection of prepared foods near the chicken. No monster coffee flavors here, but they do carry kimchi. I feel like I always spend minimum $100-$200/visit. These days feels like it goes over that amount with just couple items in the cart. Gas Station: the clerks keep it moving so I don't feel like I'm waiting an abnormal amount but I am usually there around 4:00pm so it's a little bit earlier than the rush hour. It's a convenient location for me, so will be frequenting often but not on the weekends haha. read more

I've been a member at this store for years, and Zim really happy that they have expended to even more locations. We usually come here about one time each week and we buy all kinds of stuff. Definitely the sundry household items like paper towels, napkins, and toilet paper come from this place. Even though their prices have increased like everywhere else, they still have the lowest prices that you would find anywhere. Granted there is the yearly membership fee to consider, but with a family of four, this store is definitely ideal for the things that we always need. I've even bought some really cool cargo pants, that have lasted years later, for less than $25.00. To top it off the Manager Shantel doesn't know how to talk to customers she got smart with me and was very rude. Do not take anything to this place! I brought a wheel and tire from my 2024 Lexus RX 350 to Costco Tire shop to have a screw removed and my tire patched. The wheel was NEW with less than 1,700 miles on it. When it was returned to me, someone had gouged an "X" on the inside of the wheel seemingly to mark the location of the patently obvious screw that was in the tire! When I lodged a complaint, I was told "they would have to conduct an investigation", and it seems as if they are not going to take responsibility! This is one of my favorite costcos to go to. I'm pretty equal distance to all of them. This location recently put a gas station and with premium gas hitting over $4 a gallon Costco is where I go weekly as it's easily 50 cents or more cheaper than elsewhere! The new gas station has 18 pumps so it's super quick to get through the line and unlike other Costco gas stations, they actually did a good job of the layout so cars aren't bottle necked and squeezing to get to the pumps. I like this one better also because it is not packed and we'll stocked. Other locations run out of stuff regularly and is the same distance from me. This Costco is also near alot of stores and restaurants like Walmart so I can get my errands done quickly. read more

We typically try to go to Costco for gas, when available. We were disappointed to find this particular location doesn't have gas at all. What a bummer. Guess the sign that no Costco has showed up on Yelp would have been a good indicator then. I have to say that I haven't fully converted to the Cult of Costco. I originally bought my membership to get a deal on a few air purifiers, but since then, I really haven't had the need Costco bulk style shopping. Now, sure there are savings to be had here, but I really have no idea where I would store a gross of Sun Chips in my one bedroom apartment. Now, don't get me wrong, I see the fanatical devotion that many families--and some preppers I assume--have for Costco. I'm sure that when they wheel up Costco's giant shopping cart to checkout stand and the cashier rings $349 they are saving a ton. However, I just don't shop that way. No, I pretty much just want a few bags on Sun Chips around the apartment at any one time. I mean who wants to look in the pantry and see a wall of Sun Chips? I guess it's Sun Chips for breakfast again. And the their is the embarrassment and humiliation that accompany the Costco checkout process. First, their shopping carts are so massive that they seem to highlight the fact that I don't belong at Costco. My package of socks and underwear look lonely and pathetic in Costco's giant carts. I can see other shoppers judging my meager purchases as I to say Is that all you're going to get? Maybe you should consider shopping at Walmart. This store is for big boys and girls. And finally, there is the humiliation that stems from the final Costco exit gauntlet. I'm forced to cringe with embarrassment as some security clerk checks my receipt on the way out the door. Especially if you have a Big family, Wife and I are not there yet but we still get the value deals and eat the amount of a big family LOL just kidding sort of... we store some things away. But Costco is probably the most cost efficient place across the board since it's bulk and you have to look out for their discounted items - The majority of products do go on sale eventually, just have patience. The lines get a little long sometimes but they have a very smooth way of getting you through quickly. Costco also doubles up as a walk-through lunch with all their awesome samples typically from 12 until four, if you really wanted to dive in on some food then their café area has some very satisfying items as well. if you really want to get ahead you should also look out for the Costco credit card, the rewards program on that thing is impressive to say the least and they don't try to fool you with this whole points system, they tell you the exact percentage CASH back. it is like $100 per year, but it'll balance itself out in your favor easily. read more
