The shopping center has struggled for a while. Shopper's Food Warehouse closed. Dress Barn closed. Amazon Market closed. Target and the Hair Cuttery are some of the oldest businesses in the shopping center. The inventory is average. There are a few new dress items in the front of the store. The bulk of the items hanging on the racks seem like "leftovers." The selection of handbags are more interesting than the clothes. read more

This location is convenient and clean. I prefer to go to Homegoods when I can for home decor but what Homegoods doesn't have TJ MAXX may. I went in to browse for picture frames as I'm doing a little revamping my space. The inventory is limited but quality. They clean the carts and wipe down all the counters after each interaction. I felt safe shopping here. I live close by so I shop here every now and then. Its consistent. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of limited inventory. read more

I have always avoided these types of shops but someone convinced me to go in. As I strolled around the shop, I saw quite a few things that I liked and when I saw the prices, I couldn't believe it. This is a great place to find really low priced clothing, shoes, and home goods. The staff seemed to be working diligently to keep it all organized and they were pleasant and helpful when I asked questions. The line for check was long but moved very quickly. read more

This TJ Maxx is definitely limited in selection of their clothing when compared to other locations - they may have the generic tops, but more of specialty items are a little scarce. However, with some browsing, you may be able to find a couple of items here and there. The offerings are also somewhat unorganized (especially the clearance sections, as the sizes are a total mess!). I've had very good luck here. I've found Armani, Sigrid Olsen, Coach, plenty of Vera Bradley and other big names. When you're not looking for something special you'll find plant of treasures. Mr. Miller keeps a very tidy store. Selection varies by what's on the truck but the store is clean and organized. If you enjoy the hunt for bargains put this store in your cycle to stop by. read more

It was a big store however I would say little disorganized. I couldn't find any cardigan at all and it's all in this generic "top" section where most of them are tshirt sand sweaters. Kids section was a hot mess. It was hard to browse and find any sizes. read more

I've been to every TJ Maxx in a 20-mile radius from my home, and this is by far the best. First, it's out in a chi-chi area of town, so you know the selection is far better than the average store. Take the purses for instance. Nearly every purse has one of those gray magnetized sensors because it's top quality stuff -- Kate Spade, Valentina, etc. I saw a plenty that caught my eye, but I don't have the budget for a three-figure purse right now, so I had to pass. The same goes for their footwear and outerwear though. Plenty of really, REALLY nice items to go around! Secondly, the store is extremely neat and well-organized -- no random piles of junk scattered about like a war zone. (This reminds me of a funny comedy routine I once heard about TJ Maxx. Google "TJ Maxx Nightmare" on youtube and you'll see it! LOL! I promise you that this TJ Maxx is NOTHING like the one Sebastian describes there.) Lastly, the store is out in big shopping center with tons of other stores that you can also visit -- from Shopper's Grocery to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to Five Below to Noodles & Co. All in all, it's a great way to kill and hour or two on a lazy afternoon. read more

For Richmond Highway, kind of a dump in certain areas but standard suburbia in others, this shopping center is just impressive in general. Always packed and filled with several of my favorite stores (Petsmart anyone?) - as for this TJ in particular, it's really great. ((Side note: Have to say, it seems like many TJ regulars like myself like to scope out all the stores in the whole metro area. It could literally be a pastime for me. Let's just say I have been to many of these stores... too many... but in my case, I'm too broke to pay retail at the mall and too picky to buy weird brands at Walmart so this place fits the bill.)) This store happens to be close and convenient, and definitely one of the best I've been to in weeks! The selection is great and there are plenty of designer labels at non-designer prices. The purse selection is really crazy for your average store... and the clothing ain't that bad either. I really had to use my willpower not to walk out with the quilted Kate Spade purse that retails at around $300 for $200, or the Michael Kors minidress that retails around $150 for $50. Still ended up getting four shirts, dog toys, headphones, etc. The staff were friendly and called out the lady who blatantly tried to cut in front of me. Sweet because I wouldn't have said anything myself. Fulfilled my discount shopping fix... for the day at least. Recommended. read more

I'm so fortunate to have the option to come to this location. It is a little longer drive for me, but worth it. Staff are friendly and helpful. I have been there at different times of the day and I have received good customer service every time. Perhaps staff from this location can train the useless Potomac yards staff. read more

Over the last year alone ,this location turned to trash! Toys broken, pieced all over the place, clothes stained, zippers broken, no tags! Management alone is incompetent, even rude. The ladies working there are really sweet and nice and try to make up for the rest! The manager today, fumbled around ,incapable to make a decision, telling a customer to inhale, exhale! TJ Maxx is where I go when I want professional dresses. I don't know what happened but on my last visit, all I could find were maxi dresses. I guess professional clothing isn't in season. They usually have a large selection of Calvin Klein professional clothing, which I love. Other than clothes, I love this place to by accessories and home goods. The store is a bit dusty. This review is for Andy one of the managers. The same one that ran a cart into the side of my leg as I was exiting the store and didn't apologize, the same one who kept hassling me that they were about to close in 30 minutes and continued to remind me every 5 minutes that I needed to head to the lines while I was in the middle of shopping for some gifts and eventually got annoyed with him harassing me. I left AND BOUGHT NOTHING. I go to this location because I work in the same shopping center, it convenient and I can walk there on my break. However because of this experience and what I've witnessed with how he treats other customers as well, with him literally walking up to their faces and barking at them to leave instead of asking if there's a way he can help find anything that they need, to get customers moving to the registers faster. He lacks so much customer services skills that I don't think make him fit to be in a customer service/retail environment, unless this is the face TJMAXX wants to show its customers that they just really could care less. read more

I am amazed by the level of service. Yes, it is a busy TJ Maxx so it is a bit picked over, but in general it is easy to find things and to find people to help you. I am amazed by the level of service. I am someone disabled, but not in a wheelchair or crutches or anything. However, my salesperson Tamra (sp) was so nice and sweet and attentive, she asked if she could bag my things a certain way to make them easier to carry, then when all was done, she asked if she could help me carry a big box to my car! She was so nice and sweet, I will always come back because good employees can really earn my business. I am very impressed and will be back. read more

I shop at this particular location often, not as much as before but often. I have to say I like the women's clothing selection but that I think that the TJ Maxx in Kingstowne is much better. I do like that the store is clean for the most part but the lady's dressing room needs to be cleaned better. There are usually always gum or trash left behind in the dressing rooms. Who wants to place their clothing against a dirty wall on the metal hangers? I'd give this location a 3 out of 5. read more

Unfortunately for the first time my experience tonight was unsatisfactory. I approached the jewelry counter waiting to be serviced to look at jewelry. A Caucasian women was being helped so I waited patiently. I walked around and continued to look around the counter at jewelry. Another women walked up...she looked Hispanic, she needed help like me. I continued to walk around the counter and help came but they went to the Hispanic woman. I didn't want to be rude so I just let them help her. So at this point it's two people that can possibly help but they are busy. No one said "I will be right with you." I waited and waited. Walked away to the shoes and came back 5 min later to jewelry. They still didn't acknowledge me. Especially Mirian G Coordinator. I looked at her badge and thought wow she's the coordinator and she still didn't speak or acknowledge if I needed assistance. She even made eye contact with me. I stood there and finally the other worker asked if I needed help after standing there. I sarcastically said yes...because I had been waiting so long. The two workers looked at each other and said something to each other in another language and Mirian G looks at me. Who knows what was said. My husband walked around the counter looking and Mirian G didn't even ask him if he needed to see anything. I just felt it was rude to be disregarded. They purposely didn't ask me if I needed help. Maybe I should have yelled for assistance. But what would that have done. Customer service training is definitely needed. They could have helped me...I wasn't going to bite them. My teenage daughter, almost an adult, applied for a job there and was promised a phone call or text by the manager, never happened. So we went in to check & she was told not to keep coming in to inquire and waste her time and going on about her being busy and that she'll call her; which again hasn't happened. It's been more than 3 weeks & there hasn't been any sort of response. Rude and inconsiderate behavior on the hiring manager's part.
