12/27/22 On 12/18/22 stop this store to get some ideas. This store certainly sells lot of candy or junk food to be politically correct. Getting ideas for the Christmas came easily. One of the first things I saw for my step-sister is a Hello Kitty box set. Not a bad way of mending an old wound between two people. I saw a nice cup/bowel for my sister. My wife found a to do organizer for her as well. A number of different items were picked up here and it completed 80 percent of what we needed in one store. I love me a HomeGoods run and the fact that it is only minutes from me makes this a little dangerous for my wallet. Located in the Beacon Center shopping mall, there are plenty of parking in their large lot. Rarely have I seen the place packed so you'll always find a spot. The store itself is about an average size of your typical HomeGoods store and there are large signs around indicating the different sections and their goods. For some reason, I'll usually start shopping through the specialty food aisle because if I am feeling a little adventurous, I might find something I've never had but also seems rather appetizing. Sometimes this typically happens when I peruse the health section with it's collagen powder, spirulina, bone broth powder, etc. I'm surprised that the food section, in general, is smaller than the other HomeGoods I've visited before. Nonetheless, you will find a variety of coffee, tea, seasonings, dried pasta, tomato sauces, and snacks. Their kitchen section has an assortment of utensils and gadgets, cookware, storage, baking, and stuff for entertaining. The bath section has got your bath needs; home decor has your wall art, faux greenery, throw pillows, organizational pieces; furniture is self explanatory; stationary has a variety of notebooks, planners, cards; pet and rug sections are self explanatory; and the kids section has a bunch of educational toys for learning and imaginative play, a few kid-sized armchairs, along with some fun books for the littles kiddos. I like that HomeGoods changes inventory every so often so that each visit you'll find something and discover something new. I also like that they have a lot of things that are currently on trend so you can style your home accordingly. I even appreciate the seasonal stuff because it makes celebrating the major holidays much more enjoyable. I will say that during the Christmas season it gets a little more crazy crowded that even walking around with a shopping cart is met with blockade after blockade of other people and their shopping carts trying to find the perfect gift for their loved ones. And btw, I have loved shopping for gifts for my friends and family because you can usually find something unique but also practical. I will say, though, that if I can find a particular item cheaper somewhere else, I'll get it elsewhere (and this usually happens more often with kids toys). So far with my interaction with the store clerks, they have been pretty pleasant and have not had any issues with their services. The items on the shelves may seem a little disorganized in some areas, but I feel like that is just the nature of the store and lazy customers who put things in random places when they decided they no longer want a certain item. Overall, I enjoy shopping at this HomeGoods location and it does not disappoint with each visit. I think the best part about finding something you like is the low price. And the fact that I've trained my children to identify HomeGoods as one of my favorite places to shop says a lot about how much I feel about this place. read more

This HomeGoods is located in the plaza off of Route 1. The selections here seems to be more on the minimal side, as they want to be efficient when changing their inventory. I was on a hunt for some nonstick skillets, and I was a little disappointed that they had a small selection of brands, in addition to not being organized. Some of the smaller-sized ones are stuck or hiding in between larger ones, so you really have to take each skillet out, one by one, off the rack. I was able to find a couple of the specific brand I was looking for, but they came with the typical defects of being chipped, warped size or dents. They offer an okay selection on furniture, rugs, lighting fixtures, mirrors, bedding, bath products, dining options, and pet accessories/snacks, but again, I didn't really much of a variety. Came here with my wife, I've been in this store for about 400 times. It seems like every time we come there are new and different furnishings and items which is pretty cool. Lots of chairs and sofas to sit on while the wife shops, lol I'm sure that's not their purpose but after 1 hr of waiting, you can't help but to sit on them. I have to say, prices are great! And you definitely have lots of options. My wife says she can always the latest trends at this store. So not to shabby, I would rather bring her here than shopping at an expensive place. After moving to DC I visited this location to look for some furniture. While my husband was at work I wanted to send him a few pictures of something's I found that we might like. Unfortunately that's where things went south, a store worker mistakingly thought I was taking a picture of her when I was really taking a picture of a dog gate. She approached me and began publicly berating me and forcing me to delete the picture. She followed me around the store even after showing her that the picture clearly wasn't of her she still insisted that I leave or she would escalate the situation further. Things were not very well organized and the aisles were very tights even with their own shopping cart. Framed pictures are out of places and hidden behind big paintings etc which was hard to see what they have. Then the picture frames kept sliding down so I felt like I couldn't look at anything anymore because I didn't want the big paintings to fell on my family. And/or fall and break I may have to pay for it. We didn't end up getting anything read more

HomeGoods is your Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshalls for home furnishings and decor. I love HomeGoods! I try to come by every so often because their inventory changes every week. You never know what gems you may find. They have a lot of unique items here at discounted prices. It's great for finding items to add the finishing touches. I've gotten mirrors, cookware, lamps and more from this location. The store is pretty organized and I like the fact that their inventory changes very frequently. read more

Friendly and helpful staff. Good finds. A little corny art. Lamps are all expensive. Not good deals on lamps. Very few floor lamps. Good prices on bed linens and pillows. No 6x9 size rugs is a real bummer! They only carry from 5x7 then jumps to 8x 10. But they do have some really enormous rugs if you need larger sizes. I have shopped at this particular Homegoods many times over the years with zero issues. The staff is friendly for the most part. This particular review is related to my experience today. I found an item and I subsequently went to check out. The cashier was the issue. She decided that wasn't the price of the item even though it was clearly labeled and proceeded to attempt to debate the issue back and forth. If they made a mistake then that's too bad; it has nothing to do with the customer. All of the paintings in that series were ALL labeled that price. The clerk was determined to make me pay more even though I explained this to her. I was actually in a rush and she seemed determined to hold me up in her quest to be correct. I went to the Waldorf store after I ran my errand and got the item for the exact same price as the one in Alexandria with zero issues and zero fanfare. I firmly believe if I looked different then I wouldn't have been subjected to that treatment. I love this store and everything about it. I love that I can come in every week and see totally new options, brands, colors, selections, etc. You could spend hours here and little money furnishing your place or freshening up an old, stale look. I especially love the garden area and all the selection of planters and pots--such unique beautiful designs from around the world which is a nice break from the boring ones from Lowe's/Home Depot. My favorites lately are checking out the handmade colorful floral Mexican planters of which every weekend I've come in there are a new and different designs. Gives us a gorgeous pop to my living room. I've found a few things that had dings or small and insignificant, but noticeable, damage to it, and the manager was always good about marking it down an additional 10-20% off. Everything you want here related to home you can find here. Kitchen, bath, bedroom, organizing, pictures, frames, baskets, dishes, furniture, lighting, etc. etc. A lot of the times there are global/international options which is nice because it's like a Pier 1 or World Market but just marked down much more.
