Although I have some design sense, I wanted an expert who could make additional suggestions. I retained Joy for a mini-consultation which I didn't even know you could do. After the consultation, she answered my questions via email. Highly recommend! Delightful experience. Great results.

Joy made a potentially stressful job easy!…read more We wanted to do a bathroom redo, but didn't want to have to worry about ordering things and scheduling work. Joy took care of all that and more. From the time we contacted Joy things went smoothly. Joy listened to what we had to say when we first called her then showed up with a plan that incorporated our ideas with her expertise. Joy used mood boards to help us visualize the plan and updated them frequently with our preferences. Joy took care of all scheduling of contactors and ordering the supplies. She was also easy to contact and really kept us updated during the entire project. I think her fees were a great value and well worth it. She had some really great ideas we would never have thought of. The final product was a wonderful combination of what we were looking for and what really worked. Just top notch work. We are so happy with the final result. I can't even remember what the old bathroom looked like now. We will use Joy for our next project for sure and highly recommend her.

What started as a kitchen remodel quickly turned into a full-home renovation because everything was going so smoothly--and that's thanks to the amazing team at Shea Studio and Duran Contracting. Bonnie was our main designer, and she was incredible--super thoughtful, creative, and totally invested in the project. Leah kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes, and June (the owner) was hands-on during all the key phases. They were all great to work with: professional, seemingly always available, and flexible. What made a huge difference was how much time they spent upfront getting to know our style and what we needed from the space. We'd never done that kind of deep dive before, and it made everything else so much easier. From there, it felt like they just "got" us--they really took our vision and ran with it. They helped us find the right partners for everything--cabinets, appliances, furniture, lighting, even a custom wine room. Everyone they brought in was top-notch and fairly priced. Plus, they handled all the scheduling, deliveries, and any issues that popped up (like damaged items or delays), so we didn't have to worry about a thing. If you're thinking about remodeling or redesigning your home, we can't recommend Shea Studio enough. They're talented, professional, and just great people. Our home even won a Home & Design award this year--and we've included photos so you can see for yourself!

I was kind of awkward at first, knowing that we might have different taste. However, June listened and adjusted to what I liked. In a short time, we selected a delightful suite of living room furniture. June made sure the furniture arrived on time and arrived on the delivery day to put everything gorgeously in place while I worked on my business, including tactfully putting aside some junk and even offering to hang our art. That gave me huge relief, because it was the day before my guests were to arrive, and I had no time to deal with it. I was also impressed that June did many things off the clock and didn't charge us extra when she realized it would suit our taste and lack of time best to order our art gallery wrapped. June also found a way to repurpose four lamps that we had so that they went with the decor where they were situated. I have already hired Shea Studio Interiors for an additional project to spruce up my bedroom and office. Additionally, June's suggestion to move my office from upstairs to downstairs has tremendously benefitted my business operations, will save me on taxes, and will provide me a better sense of peace in the upstairs, "home" part of my home/office. My family was very comfortable using the furniture we selected (except for the jealousy, perhaps), and my sister-in-law said it looked like something out of a magazine! In short, Shea Studio made our house more homey and beautiful and our office more businesslike and functional. Highly recommend.

We had never worked with an interior designer before, but we knew an expert's assistance would be helpful given the amount of furniture and other decorating assistance we needed. Ali was a great listener and developed a vision for the house that fit both our lifestyle and tastes. She introduced us to pieces and patterns beyond those we would have found on our own. For each room, she provided multiple choices for furniture, patterns, rugs, etc.--at various price points and styles--and made sure that we could mix and match the different pieces while maintaining the overall vision for the room. In addition to her aesthetic talents, Ali was a huge help with logistics--placing orders, securing samples, and staying on top of suppliers and vendors. With the ongoing supply delays due to the pandemic, Ali kept us up to date as shipping and delivery dates changed. Overall, Ali is a lovely person and very easy to work with--highly communicative throughout the process. We will certainly keep her in mind for our future interior decorating needs!

When setbacks arose, she handled every problem with professionalism and grace, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind. Linda is AWESOME. We received a referral to Linda from our neighbor who had just engaged her to…read moreselect colors for their house. We hired Linda in similar fashion. Let me describe the services provided and why it was awesome. We were in the midst of redecorating and had several rooms that we were planning to repaint. Linda had a fixed price for a set number of rooms that we thought was very reasonable to begin with. We were really expecting her to stop by, take a look at our house, understand our needs and provide recommendations. But, oh...she did so much more. Linda spent 7 hours with us! For each space that we consulted her on, she asked us to describe usage, provided recommendations, then held up color swatches on the walls so we could see what the color would look like in bright light and shadows and further gave us decor tips. We did not just pick colors, we felt confident in our choices. As I think back to our initial experience when we moved in, we liked a lot of color and picked some bold colors throughout pretty randomly. Unfortunately, less than 4 years later we are re-painting so many areas because the color seems overbearing or did not really work. If we had used Linda's services right at the start, we wouldn't be repainting so soon so we would have saved money! In the end, we have picked shades of a similar color but as Linda explained, there is a rhythm to this, as you move from active areas to areas where light fades and gets bright, you see a consistency and can also change moods somewhat. Again, YMMV, but all-in-all, I don't think anyone will be dissatisfied with Linda...she goes out of her way to please...she need not have spent 7 hours with us and we think that the decor tips she provided are strong. Her work ethic and enthusiasm was excellent...we almost could not keep up with her even after 7 hours. 10/10 for her service and enthusiasm.

If you are looking to furnish an empty space, stop what you're doing and at least set up a call…read morewith the Splendid & Swanky team. For background, I have no interest in interior design and have no business spending real money on furniture I know nothing about. But I found myself in a situation where I had nothing for a space that had to be smartly utilized. And I wanted it to be beautiful. Was this really the time to experiment with Pinterest while spending thousands of dollars? & I needed the furniture to last long enough that I wouldn't have to think about this again for a very, very long time. I also needed to buy everything during a pandemic, when everything was delayed... So I turned to an option I never had considered before - hiring interior designers. I had heard great things about this team and wanted to explore sourcing this huge project out to them. It's a pretty simple process. You go to their website and fill out an intake form that introduces yourself and the project. Then they'll sell up a virtual call to meet and discuss your style, and budget. Then they came and looked at the space, took measurements. Then they pitched a proposal. From there you have to make some decisions. They are going to present you with options that may be outside of your budget. This is where we gotta grow up a little and recognize that if you want nice things, this is how much that actually cost. I was happy to increase my original proposed budget to get what I needed. But there were some peices that I wanted to spend less on and they quickly came back with lower priced options. They were very adaptable there. With that, they placed the order! Over the course of the next few months, the furniture started arriving. They work with a contractor who you can hire (through them, they handle all the admin work) who can assemble, hang, etc do all that work for you. They even came over to make sure everything was hung in the right spots. There is a science and art to design that they are factoring into every decision for your space, and it's worth their fee to get all your nice new furniture all in the right place. They look for beauty and functionality in every detail of the space. So now I have this gorgeous dining room [photo provided]. Our guests are blown away whenever they walk even towards the space. It's exactly what I wanted when I described the target ambiance to the team. Beautiful, relaxed, warm, stylish. I can't tell you how happy I am with my experience with Splendid & Swanky and the confidence it brought me about my home. If you're able to, whenever you're able to, hire professionals to do things you can't do well. It'll always be worth it. Here is the proof.
