We arrived here and the tall gentleman was very customer service oriented and showed us where to find our crafting beads. The bonus was that all of the crafting beads were 50% off, YAY!! We also had an opportunity to explore and found that they have a full end-cap of an aisle dedicated to sticky adhesives for wall (or other) items; from Command to 3M Brands, they have it all. There is a beautiful 75% off clearance section that is absolutely well stocked with a great selection of beautiful items. All Wall Decor is currently 50% off this week so that worked out VERY well for us. We will certainly come here again. It is the closest location to Washington, DC....go figure. They definitely need to explore opening one up closer to DC and/or in DC. read more

Extremely disappointed. I went to Hobby Lobby to drop off two large photo prints for framing. After a long drive that probably took at least $6.00 worth of gas, the framer in the frame shop was on break and, according to two other employees, refused to interrupt break to help a customer. I left, taking my two prints with me. I will never again take any business to a Hobby Lobby. My mistake was expecting better customer service. read more

Once again, the escalators were not working. The elevator was also blocked off and out of order. I'm disabled and cannot comfortably walk up that long flight of stairs. There was also an older woman with a walker that couldn't get up the steep staircase. I'm a crafter and shop in this location often. I absolutely needed something for a client's jewelry project and there was no way I could get it. I went to a competitor's store and eventually found it. I think I'll stick with the competition. So... I could not believe that I have never been here before because it's like a crafter's/home knick-knack's dream! My friends, both Yelp & non-yelp, have spoken of this wonder of a store but never have I experienced it until now. So many things to see, it's crazy & amazing at the same time. WOW. I ended up getting some garden decor, a few knick-knacks for inside the home as well, and even scored a really cute bracelet & a pair of earrings. I was thrilled as most of the items I got were also on sale. The customer service was great. I do intend to return some of the garden decor because I purchased spinners & they do not spin (insert sad face, lol). I am hoping that the return goes smoothly, as I do not know what to expect since I have never shopped here before. The workers here are very rude! I asked three people for help and none of them spoke to me kindly. I asked if they had any drink pouches and showed them a picture of what I was looking for. They all said no and one told me "we are a Christian store we don't sell anything for drinking" as another worker laughed behind her. They were standing next to champagne glasses. I walked back to the party section just to check and I found exactly what I wanted in 4 different styles. I have shopped at hobby Lobby for many years and never been treated like this by so many of their workers! Not very Christian like. If you are going to tell people you are a Christian store make sure you are acting like a Christian! read more

First off, I'm a Hobby Lobby fanatic and actually use to manage a Hobby Lobby as a Co-Manager then Store Manager, so my opinion is definitely skewed. I know what it takes to maintain a store especially during the busy season. Hobby lobby is the perfect place for all your seasonal needs with a large variety of options as far as colors and styles. This location was amazingly organized even though some of the employees were obviously doing a reset bringing in their seasonal Home Accents. They had a decent amount of stuff left as well. The only thing I didn't care for was the cashier was a little difficult. I had bought several rolls of wrapping paper and 2 wreaths that were large but not too big for the largest size bag as well as some craft ornaments (some plastic and some glass). She used the jumbo back for my craft ornaments and there may have been 5 boxes (they could have gone in a smaller bag but whatever). There was plenty of space for the wreathes so i said "don't worry about bagging them. I'm going to stick them in with my ornaments." She then proceeded to remind me they were glass. I appreciated the reminder I informed her I was aware and she proceeded to bag the wreathes in another bag anyways in another jumbo bag. When she handed me the bag I then removed them to pace them in the first bag as intended. It's a very small thing but I really didn't want to waste a bag and I felt she didn't listen to what I was telling her. However, while she was ringing me up I sorted everything by price as anyone who has worked at Hobby Lobby that key things in manually. When I did I placed my artificial snow in my $5.99 pile versus my $3.99 pile and she did catch it so I was grateful for her attention to detail. Overall, I love Hobby Lobby and will continue to shop there. read more

Good clearance prices on after holiday items. Nice selection of crafts, decor, sewing, etc. The big issue is that most items are rung up by price as opposed to by scanning a barcode. I have had problems with being overcharged because of that so make sure to check your receipts and question the cashier if you're not sure something is on sale or not. read more

I'm in heaven. You can seriously find all your crafting needs in here. Not only do they have the typical crafting items that you'd find at AC Moore & Michaels, but they have like half of Marshalls/TJ Maxx in here as well. So much home goods and decor!!! I love how it's all super organized and color coded and each area if full of stuff you didn't even know existed or that you wanted. The only downside is they only take their own coupons which is 40% off most of the time. They also do not offer a teacher's discount which is disappointing. (C'mon!! Let's change that policy!) If you can get past their business/employment policies/news, it's a great place to get your supplies. read more

This is the largest hobby lobby in our area! I have been to the location in Woodbridge and this one has a bigger selection. The customer service is great and the store is impeccably clean and organized. Currently, there is a grand opening sale. Most items are 40-50% off. That being said, the selection includes a great fabric section, crafts, home decor, all types of add supplies, and so much more. On this trip, I was mostly looking for decorations. The check out lines are located by the entrance and the store does have escalator as well as an elevator. This is especially helpful considering those who are purchasing furniture etc. Lastly, the shopping center is extremely busy. Be mindful of parking and a lot of traffic on the weekends. Luckily, I went during the first day of the grand opening which was during the week. Despite being located in a very hectic area, I still give this store a perfect 5-star review and I definitely will be returning. read more

The new Alexandria area Hobby Lobby on Little River Turnpike at I-395 is a good addition to this shopping center. Long time residents will recall this upstairs retail space as the location of Korvette's and Tower Records. The store is reached via an escalator or elevator. It is well stocked and I now prefer it over the Woodbridge location. It's more convenient, too. I'm interested in plastic model kits and associated hobby supplies. While not a traditional hobby shop, it has a very good selection of car model kits, a good selection of aircraft and armor, but the model ship selection could be improved. The paints and supplies are more varied than those found at Michael's. My shops for colored pencils and jewelry crafting supplies and finds a good selection here to meet her needs. Saw that flowers were on sale so I decided to get some to make a 4th of July door wreath. The red ones that I really liked had unfortunately some bare spots where the flowers were missing. I checked them all, and they were all like that. Plus I needed the majority of them for my large wreath project. I begin to take one that had the most missing and attach it to the ones I was buying. As I was taking my time to do this, one of the employees named Ed approached me and told me that I could not do this because it would leave one with bare spots. I then replied to him that I was filling in the bare spots on the ones I wanted to buy. He then asked how do I know they are bare? I don't think Ed has made anything with fake flowers his entire life. I then showed him. He then repeated the same thing. So, I guess having many that have bare spots versus one that has many bare spots only makes more sense (cents) for the business. Not sure what customer wants to spend money on fake plastic flowers that are obviously incomplete and missing plastic flowers. Not wanting to argue and be a Karen, I then put my hand down into the bottom of the flower holder and got some out to finish what I could. Ed's stead-fast and unwavering answer is quite astonishing to me. Would anyone buy fake finger nails with missing thumbs, or a Christmas tree with missing branches? How about shoes with the laces missing or a string of lights with some of the bulbs missing? No, no, and no...so why would he expect ANY customer or me to buy plastic flowers with flowers missing? What they want you to do is buy more and take them home and do it there so your left paying for the one(s) you had to take from. And while a lot of the things in the store were 50%, the original prices tags are off the chain! I hope the next time Ed goes out to eat they bring him half of his food that's on sale but still outrageously priced. I will say that the cashier was very helpful in wrapping the flowers so that if they dropped off in transit they would not get lost. read more

What a great store! Lots of items that older Hobby shops used to carry but have long gone out of business. Also, Many nice decor and wall decorating things for the home. I was very impressed. The store is spotless and the best part is the customer service. Every employee was so polite and beyond willing to help. What a pleasant change from a typical big "mart" type store where the employees could not care less. I was really impressed with the selection. For example, they did not have just one model car, they had an entire isle of hard to find model kits, as well as every color paint and glue you could imagine. Well done Hobby Lobby. I will definitely be returning. It's a shame that the smaller hobby stores have gone out of business, but at least we have this, or else it would be all internet. Talk about customer service-- when I walked in the door they have an employee greeting customers who have never been in the store before and offering to show them around. With time ticking, I had to find the coloring book I needed and go. The friendly gentlemen sent me right where I needed. As I walked across the store to the art section, I marveled at all of the beautiful and affordable home decor, furniture and craft supplies the store has. My Husband visited your store today at ~ noon. He had a cart loaded with ~ $150.00 of merchandise. He found an item that he wanted versus one that was in his cart and went to return the item to the shelf, your manager (a black man) approached my husband and told him "you better not think about putting that in your pocket". My husband said "excuse me what did you say" and your manager said "you heard me", my husband said "no I did not what did you say", your manager replied "you better not put that in your pocket". My husband informed him he had no intentions to steal and because of his accusations he would not purchase the items he had in his cart and gave the manager the cart and walked out. Your cashier witnessed the encounter. I'm sure its on store video. Your manager had no right to accuse my husband of stealing or attempting to steal. We frequently visit this store and have made prior purchases. This was humiliating. After being treated like a thief we will never shop here again. read more

I know that these are unusual times, but this store, despite being relatively new to the shopping center, felt dingey and dirty and unorganized. The layout is unappealing and the products they offered, supply wise, lean more to the "stuff you'd let your kids use...although it's all from China so it probably has a high lead count in the materials" as opposed to materials a more experienced or discerning artist would choose. read more

I took a couple pictures for framing, the lady told me that it will take three weeks, So I went to pick them after the three weeks, the lady told me sorry, they are not ready, they will be ready In two more weeks, so I went after two weeks, they did not have them, they told me they will be ready in two hours, so I waited the two hours, when I came they were wrong , she told me sorry, I will give you a discount, come back in two more weeks, came in two weeks, Believe it or not they told my to come back in one week, and they told me that they will give me a discount. Came back in two weeks, they have them ready but not the way I wanted, and they did not give me any discount. She gave me a big speech and didn't give me any discount. Terrible service. read more
