I think this is the best goodwill in MD. I always find SOMETHING in here. On trend clothing items and home goods. :)

At times there are some good finds. The cashiers need to be more respectable and not make fun of customers when customers make a mistake.

I continue to be impressed with 2nd Ave. thrift superstores as I've been to a few. They are…read moreconsistent in what you will experience. 1) scent: really have I experienced that thrift store smell whenever I go into a 2nd Ave. thrift store. This one is the same. So they get four stars for that. 2) selection: the store was well stocked, and I found a few things I was looking for and a few things I wasn't but realize I needed 3) size: I called is a superstore, but compared to the store tomorrow it's about half the size. It wasn't as small as some of the Goodwills but I don't know that I would call it a superstore. 4) prices: as 2nd Ave. always does. There are two colors that were 50% off so if you can find those you'll get some great deals. Otherwise the prices were decent. It seems as though many thrift stores have raised their prices, but I wouldn't say the prices were outrageous or unreasonable. 5) location: it was relatively easy to find, and had a sufficient amount of parking. 6) service: I appreciate the self check out that they offer. And the staff was responsive and helpful when I was looking for a couple of items in the store. Overall, this is absolutely worth a stop, and I will likely be back.

My first time visiting 2nd Avenue Thrift on Allentown Road was such a disappointment. I was taken…read moreaback, turned off, and shocked by the prices of the items in this THRIFT store. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The prices at this store reminded me of my good decision to stop donating to thrift stores. I have now started donating ONLY to centers and facilities that TRULY help their communities, and therefore ALL of the items that I donate are free to their customers. The organizations that I now donate to are strictly geared towards helping true low income and less fortunate. The prices at the store are the prices that you would find in regular store AND intentional high priced stores. This store receives donations FOR FREE, AT NO COST TO THEM, AND YET THEIR PRICES ARE MERELY A DISHONEST RACKET. It was very disappointing to see that this store is obviously run by persons who seek to profit excessively and exceedingly from the kindness and generosity of others. I should NEVER see art work at any thrift store for $129.00 that is not the authentic art work of Picasso. I should NEVER see a water jug for $124.00 , even a large one. I should never see a cat sculpture for $69.00. I should never see an 8x10 picture frame for 9.99 (this is the same amount that I would pay at a store for a brand NEW frame). I should never see cookware for $34.00. As I walked through this thrift store, my shock progressed to disgust. This store truly needs to be regulated. Their prices are unheard of when it comes to a thrift store. This particular thrift store truly needs to be investigated and regulated. I can't support dishonesty and mere greed. There are other thrift stores that do have prices that are too high for a store that receives all of their items for free, but I've never been to even ONE, that demonstrates this level of GREED. Shame on 2nd Avenue Thrift Store on Allentown Road. Shame, Shame, Shame on them. ‍‍‍‍

    B thrifty

The jury is out on whether B thrifty is really thrifty. While I found the store to be well…read moreorganized and clean, their prices on some things were ridiculous. Anything that's name brand such as a Tommy Hilfiger Used hoodie was $30. This was insane because it wasn't vintage and it was clearly used. Why would I pay $30 for something I can go get brand new at TJ Maxx or Ross? There were other name brand items such as Lucky brand or Adidas $20 and up. Count me out for those things. I thrift to dress for less and get some unique pieces. Now, I did find a few bargains that were reasonably priced. I scored a Michael Kors Cindy Large Saffiano leather satchel for $25. Before purchasing I checked with AI for its authenticity. Now, that was a deal because the retail price on this gently used bag is $300-$400 originally. I also scored a beautiful wool blend pink blazer I found in the men's section calling my name for $5, and a beautiful gold tie that I'm going to craft into something amazing! They advertise that on Tuesday you get 30% off if you're 50 or older with Id. It's posted as big as day outside of the store. I had to pay for my bag separately and this was honored. When I finished shopping and went to pay for my other items the cashier asked if I would like to sign up for a membership. I agreed since it's free. I reminded her about the 30% off and she said that my membership would not take affect for a week and I had to pay the regular price. The sign outside said nothing about being a member or on their mailing list. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she never came to the front. Another customer was kind enough to get my items so I could get the discount. B thirty do better. I don't live in the area and probably won't be back. I don't like some of their high price and that they don't honor their own policies about discounts.

And if you…read morefind one, she (there are no men except for a lazy security guard) will hardly want to pay you a respectable amount of attention to answer questions. If you are not in the market for clothes, glassware and beat up cookware, there is no reason to shop the other garbage throughout the store. They actually price much of it as if it is a real store with good, new merchandise.
