There's a lot to see without everything feeling cluttered or "old". My travel partner ended up enjoying the store so much I ended up waiting in the (yummy) sushi restaurant nearby so she could look at every single thing she wanted to without being rushed. $50 and a bag full of happy finds later she met me for a snack in the restaurant and showed me her finds: earrings, an art book just brought in from London, items to take apart and use for her own art business. She was one happy camper. Not only that they have the cleanest and nicest smelling restroom I've met in a shop. We'll be stopping in again any time we're in the area.

We had a great time talking with the owners, who regaled us with knowledge of their items and experiences. My husband, a nerd about astronomy, was particularly interested in seeing if they had a sextant, which they did, and had a great time examining and trying to use it. The owners had no problem showing us items. We were *not* pressured into buying anything, and they genuinely seemed happy to engage us in conversation. I ended up buying some vintage ladies home journals on a whim, after randomly finding them on a table. I just liked how they looked, and for a very low price was able to get a bundle. We had so much fun just walking around and looking at the items. We can't wait to come back when we're ready to make a bigger purchase for our future home!

It even said that the poster had an original tax stamp on it. To my surprise shipping was $99 and the frame arrived shattered. The poster was a cheap 21st century reproduction and even the stamp was printed on!! I bid $50 and would have bid higher thinking it was an original piece. When I called the auction house scared about shipping costs, they threatened to have me banned from this action and others on hibid. Beware of this auction house as it may be a scam and/or false advertisement. Edit: the owner replied to my review and another recent review saying they never did business with us. He is a liar. I even attached a photo of what I bought and I'm pretty sure he's the man I spoke to on the phone. Also posting a pic of my invoice here for reference and you can see every detail of what I wrote is true.

Now while I respect the fact that an Aldi clock lasted years, you could hear it ticking from another room, my mom was over it, and we could do better. I digress. There was one staff member and shr handled the fairly large crowd of customers with aplomb. I wish I recalled her name but she was very informative, friendly, and helpful. I'm not a topographical map enthusiast by any means, but I find it fascinating and cool. I had been eyeing a clock on their website and wanted to go to their storefront to check it out in person while visiting Maryland. Browsing the store they have some really neat pieces. They even do sports stadiums, if you're into that.. These items would make a great present or be an excellent addition to your home, office or man cave or she shed. If you're a traveler, or there's a particular place you hold dear to your heart, this a good way to relive or honor those memories. I wanted a functional piece & had been searching for a wall clock, but I'm also on a budget. The smaller of the sized clocks (still a good size) was a more affordable option at $49 ($51 and some change with tax) , although the huge one would have been nice. With some deliberation, I returned the next day to purchase the UK clock. So far I'm very pleased with my purchase. I think they also do customized pieces if they don't have them. My friend purchased an encased wooden topographical map of Japan. general note: Three generators in historic downtown Annapolis blew causing power outages that day, but some stores had back up generators. I can't stress enough the importance of having cash on hand. Although, this wasn't an emergency purchase by any means, I was able to make the purchase because I had cash.
