I've been here a few times, and I always receive helpful and friendly service. Its been awhile…read moresince I last bowled in a league so I "needed" a new ball LOL I had ordered a Storm Tropical Surge online for $99 and brought it in to get drilled. If you buy a ball here, then drilling the finger holes is included so in hindsight it would have been more cost effective to purchase the ball here but I wasn't sure they would carry the exact one I wanted - which is scented and smells like birthday cake. Plenty of parking but space to get in and out of the plaza on Pickett can be tight. As soon as I brought in my ball, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman and he asked many questions about my other balls and my grip so we could find the best fit for my new ball. He measured my fingers and it took 15 minutes to get it drilled. Plenty of bowling bags, shoes, balls & accessories to look at while you're waiting. Once they were done, I rolled it down the carpet lane to get a good feel and off I went. They told me to come back if the holes need a little tweaking after I bowl with it. Love coming here, maybe I "need" another ball

PJ'S was awesome! I have to admit that I'm usually guilty of buying all of our sporting equipment…read moreonline, only because it's convenient. But my daughter needed new soccer cleats because her feet have been hurting, as well as some shorts that are part of her club's soccer uniform. PJ'S carries the shorts so we made a trip over there. The staff was all SO helpful! They went above and beyond to help my shy daughter with her cleats. First they suggested that for her foot pain, we may not need to spend money on new cleats after all- they thought she would find relief from a somewhat inexpensive pair of heel cups. It was so nice of them to be so honest when I was ready with my wallet open! . I decided to buy the heel cups and new cleats because her cleats are a little old. She had trouble finding some that fit and they must have brought her 20 pairs to try on, to make sure she found some that fit comfortably and perfectly. They were so kind and so patient! It looks like there won't be anymore online soccer purchases for me. We'll be back, PJ's!

I just completed my PADI Confined Water Training with Acquatic Adventures last weekend and I can't…read moresay enough positive things about my experience. I had three instructors - Liam, Roberto, and Stephanie - all of whom were very evidently knowledgeable about all things scuba diving. They were extremely thorough in reviewing materials, answering any questions my class members and I threw their way, and providing a multitude examples from personal experience (which was my favorite part). They were so friendly and personable and their passion for the sport was loud and clear as well as their keenness to ensure each of us had a positive/fun experience over the course of the two days. Honestly, I didn't expect to be as sad as I was that it was over on Day 2 - I wish we could've extended our time together just because they are very easy people to be around who also have a plethora of knowledge with them - and that's coming from someone who is typically a non-outgoing hermit. Several of my friends have already completed the same training but at other facilities and let me tell you...not only did they say their experience wasn't as pleasant (from a friendly and personable standpoint), but also the depth of information shared from Liam, Roberto, and Stephanie far outweighed what I heard was delivered to others. (I guess I'll be the leading buddy on our dive trips...) Experience aside, I will say as a career researcher, I obviously did my homework on the best value for the training in NOVA and Acquatic Adventures definitely beat others out of the water in that regard too. It's hard to imagine a place who offers the best price with the best quality of training delivery exists but I'm here to say it does. Thank you Roberto, Liam, and Stephanie for a wonderful experience. I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciate your time, energy, and expertise!

Extremely disappointing experience with Dick's Sporting Goods…read more I recently had knee surgery and was unable to leave my house or drive for an extended period of time. I am a volleyball coach and regularly tell all of my players to shop at Dick's Sporting Goods. My husband is also a basketball coach and recommends Dick's to his players as well, so our family has spent a significant amount of money with this company over the years. I had purchased knee pads in both a medium and a small. My daughter tried on the medium, which fit, and never even tried on the small. I was still within the 90-day return period and simply wanted to exchange the unused, brand-new small pair for a different size. Because of my surgery, I could not drive until my doctor medically cleared me. The closest Dick's Sporting Goods is an hour away, so once I was finally able to drive, I made the long trip and spent a considerable amount of money on gas just to make this return. Not only did they refuse to exchange an unused item that was still within the 90-day period, but the manager was extremely condescending and rude about it. I was not asking for a refund or trying to return something used. I simply wanted to exchange an unused pair of knee pads for the correct size. After years of recommending Dick's Sporting Goods to my athletes and spending money there myself, this experience has seriously changed my opinion of the company. The policy may be the policy, but the way this situation was handled, especially by the manager, was completely unacceptable. Customer service and common sense should matter, particularly when a customer is making a reasonable request under unusual circumstances.
