This store has awesome customer service, particularly Victoria who works up in cash wrap. We called looking for a pair of soccer cleats that were out of stock in our area and we wanted to confirm they had them before we made the one hour mission drive to pick them up. She checked the system and was kind enough to put them on hold for us. We got lucky and these were the shoes we were looking for. This sporting good store has aleays been my go-to store for everything from sneakers to baseball caps. They carry a whole host of sporting goods as wrll, includong camping gear, outdoor sports equipment loke for soccer and golf, and even bicycles. I've purchased name brand sweatwr and jackets from here over the uears as well. Their products are actually more affordable here then of you went to a bike specialty store, or a store that only sells baseball caps. There have always been more than two cashiers at the front, so the line to check out and pay moves aling quickly. The convenience factor is also important to me. They are located insode of the Springfield Town Center, and only a block away from the metro. read more

I needed a softball glove and batting gloves. I purchased the items in store and was overcharged by $15. I did not notice until I got home. I called customer service and they said they couldn't help and elevated me to the supervisor. The supervisor asked me to email a picture of the items and receipt (see picture). She agreed I was overcharged, but said I had to talk with the store to resolve. I stated my discontent and the supervisor hung up on me! I called the store and they said I had to come in to the store to get the adjustment. With the cost of gas and opportunity cost of my time to drive there, this makes it a poor resolution. They did offer to give me an additional 10% off if I came in to the store for the adjustment. In this day and age, I believe that companies need to do a better job at pricing management and customer service. The fact that this store wouldn't make it right for me without me coming into the store dissuades me from shopping here again. Skip this store and shop online somewhere else! read more

Dick's has a really good array of outdoor essentials. I wouldn't say they have the best quality of outdoor shoes but for a causal outdoor explorer, it's a great way to start. This location is super convenient and right outside or Macy's. It's also not busy at all. I came hoping to buy some hiking boots. I thought it would be like REI where people were knowledgeable and helped you choose the right product for you. I didn't have that experience. If you need guidance on finding the perfect shoe for your outdoor activity, I wouldn't recommend this location. Came here with my boyfriend so he can make a return. My boyfriend was standing at the register and clearly stated "I would like to make a return". Estefania, the cashier, completely ignored him as she was too busy chit chatting with her coworkers. Estefania proceeded to scan his desired return item as if he was making a purchase. When my boyfriend double checked and asked "Wait this is a return, right?", Estefania thought it was appropriate to start rudely yelling in my boyfriend's face saying "You never said you wanted to make a return and you never gave me a receipt!" Then flashed me a look as if I was going to agree with her rudeness. The second she walked away, I loudly stated how unnecessarily rude she was (she definitely heard me and I'm sure her manager did too), because she came back and pretended to be the nicest cashier ever as if she didn't just scream in my boyfriend's face for no reason. As someone who worked in customer service in the past, even IF a customer never said they wanted a return, I would've never spoken to them like that or YELLED in their face. Just because you can't listen properly to your customers since you're too busy gossiping with coworkers doesn't mean it's okay to gaslight, disrespect, and embarrass customers simply trying to make a return. Estefania didn't seem to care about her job or any customers while being rude until her manager caught her, then she wants to play innocent like she's scared to lose her job. "Have a nice day! There are at least three terrible things about this Dicks store - first of all the management is terrible and unhelpful. They could not process a merchandise credit as payment for a new purchase. They acknowledged that the card I had in hand had over $200 value but because the register couldn't swipe it, management said I was out of luck. The shoe area is where shoppers go to die a slow death of waiting to be helped. The employee kids disappear into the back and seemingly never come out. Terrible customer service! I ordered shoes online and they were shipping from store. They scheduled Doordash delivery and the guy didn't deliver as scheduled and returned them to store. I called the store twice and none of them was knowledgeable or knew what the heck they were doing! They told me to call Doordash and reschedule myself or come in the store to pick them up! How could I call Doordash if I wasn't the one who set it up and I don't have any information to call if I even wanted to. 2 days after my promised delivery day and I am still without the shoes! Just skip this place and go to the location in Bailey's Crossroads. I just needed a pair of work boots. I couldn't find a single employee to help me and it's partially because they're understaffed. I waited in line to buy some in-soles and there was one register open with one customer in front of me. After five minutes in line (the customer was difficult and the cashier was confused/annoyed), I shook my head and walked out. I went to Bailey's Crossroads the following day and was in/out in five minutes. Brick and mortar businesses are going under because customer service is all but dead. Overall ***** The death of the brick and mortar store might not happen just yet with service like this. We were down in Springfield for a youth soccer tournament from North Jersey when at 7:30am it was discovered that one of our players forgot her cleats! I immediately Googled for Dick's and unfortunately they didn't open until 9am which was the exact time of kickoff. I took a chance and called the store where the manager Juan answered the phone and I explained the situation and without hesitation he made the following suggestion; Order the cleats online and choose "pick up in store" then drive over at 8:00 and he will unlock the door and hand us the cleats. Juan saved the day for a 12 year old girl (who scored in the game) and we are so appreciative we drove back over to thank him and buy a few more things. While there we discovered that Juan's attitude permeates throughout his staff as they were all very friendly, helpful and most knew the story and asked us how the game was. I go to the hunting/camping area. Find four shelves of items that's says something like "Bargain Price - if you find a lower price we'll match it." Not a single item on all 4 shelves has a price tag on it. How do I know if I find a lower price, if there's not a price to begin with? Of course, I find something I could really use. I start walking around for someone who works at the store to tell me how much the item cost. No one to be found. I have to go all the way to the front of the store and ask a cashier, who granted, was very apologetic. I told her there are four shelves of items without price tags, she said sorry and they would correct the problem. Come back 3 hours later, (I went to other stores in the mall) and walk back through Dick's on my way out. Again, no employees anywhere to be found, and still no price tags. I decide I should probably tell the store manager instead of just a cashier. As I start walking to the front of the store, I see another customer complaining to another employee. The employee says, "you can talk to our manager", and points to the same "cashier" I spoke to 3 hours earlier. Lol. No thanks Dick's, I'll just buy it from amazon. Luv Carrie Underwood - at Fair Oaks. The brand is only at Dicks and I luv the style & fabrics! I did overload my wallet and had to return a shirt. Good thing I didn't wear perfume when I tried it on. As it was raining when I chose to make the return, I found a hanger from the dry cleaners with plastic. I thought I was going the extra mile to keep the top nice. Instead the sales associate smelled the neck of the shirt and asked me if I cleaned it. I told her already I bagged it because of the weather. It has been raining all day so she had to know. Customer service, when you can find an associate, is pretty good and this store is new so it is well-organized and clean. What I like about Dick's the most is that they have everything. I am sooo impressed by the level of customer service I received while in the store yesterday. My 7 year old son is starting baseball for the first time, and I had no clue how to fit a helmet or glove. The manager Juan could see that I was frustrated and overwhelmed. He took the time to walk me through all the items I needed and helped my son fit for his shoes, gloves, and a bat. Another very lovely associate helped with the helmet, but I did not get her name. I'm really frustrated with Dicks, I'm extremely frustrated with how they run their promotions, coupons policies, etc. they continuously change their policies and it's just annoying and frustrating. I have purchased a lot of gear for myself and my children from Dicks and the rewards expire before you get an opportunity to use them. I had a great experience in store where three individuals went above and beyond to assist me and I was asked to sent a Kudos review... I definitely wanted to and I love to help those that deserve to be recognized to be recognized... so I sent in the kudos and I received a coupon to use... well, when I went to use it it was already expired. The last two times I was there I was purchasing items for Christmas and my rewards had expired, I was spending over $300 and since my rewards were expired I requested a military discount... at one point Dicks used to give a 10% discount because that's what all the named brands give on their sites, then they went to only military discounts on Veterans Day and now you have to spend $50 or more to receive a $5 discount. I had $20 rewards that had just expired and the discount from the kudos that had expired and then the $5 off as long as you spend $50. Now, you have to get a coupon from base for any discount. I'm just annoyed that their brands offer military discounts but they won't. I avoid Dicks at all cost, it's just gone down hill and they carry very limited products. It's really too bad. read more

If you need to fix your bike, don't take it to Dick's. Requested a Premium service and tune up, got a low-grade service. Requested cables to be properly attached to the frame, they said "we don't carry the parts," even though the bike was purchased from Dick's. Manager gave me a discount, but wasn't enough, because my bike was at the shop for 2.5 weeks, they could have easily ordered the parts. Take your bike somewhere else. read more

I haven't written a review in years, but I must write one now because this was the Worst customer experience I have experienced in my life. I asked 2 separate sales reps who were standing around, doing absolutely Nothing to simply help me reach an item on a higher shelf. The first guy stared at me blankly and me instead walked across the department to ask someone who just entered that part of the store if he needed assistance. So I asked the other sales clerk who he was talking to for reach it for me or even to grab stepstool so I could get it myself, and he said he would be right back. I grabbed the other stuff in reach while I waited for him to realize he was never coming back. And of course, I see him on the way to the register goofing off with a different employee. Could have asked again, but at this point, I just wanted out. The cashier never bothered to bag my items, and when I asked, he tossed me the smallest bag and called the next person in line, who naturally, shoved me out of the way. I will give the franchise credit for one thing though - they definitely chose a fitting name for their store. Never will I step foot in that place again. read more

I'll start by saying I don't know whether their ten customer max is government-imposed or corporate (the implication I got from staff was corporate), but either way it's insane in a store that size. But the reason I'm giving the low feedback is the checkout experience. After waiting 45 minutes to get through the line, and despite having a bunch of staff in the store, no one came to open a second register with several people in line -- I and the two people behind me waited 3-5 minutes to check out, which made things worse for the people waiting outside. And then I tried to send an email on the website rather than posting this here, but just couldn't find a general feedback link on their website. If Walmart weren't hopelessly out of things like weight training gloves, I'd have given up. That said the staff I did deal with were pretty friendly and helpful. read more

If I could give negative five stars I would. I walked in at 910 (they close at 930) to purchase a gun safe which isn't cheap. Despite there being only one customer other than myself, I was told by one of four employees that I could see, that it "really isn't a good time to help me" because he was expecting a truck. I work in hospitality and can imagine telling one of my patrons that I didn't have time to put their order in or make them a drink. If you're open for business than you're open for business. My fiancée who works for an international hotel chain was speechless. I will never spend another cent in that chain let alone that store. As a hunter and fisherman, that will end up being thousands of dollarper year and I'll be sure to tell my friends. Even when I am just there to "take inventory." Today was no exception, having about half dozen people ask if they could help us find something... And they helped us find a product I was looking for. This weekend went to Dick's Sporting Goods in the Springfield Mall location. Found they are in the midst of swopping out their merchandise for the summer season and clearance items are now on the end caps near the areas of clothing. When visiting this location notice that the price on the tag of clothing items may not actually be accurate. Found items with red-clearance prices that were not actually on sale at all - - but full price. Further, the "coupons" for discounts Dick's offers seems to exclude virtually all name brand items on the sales floor! Not competitive pricing on merchandise. Difficult to get customer service, the few employees on duty are clustered near the registers and in the very back near shoes. Service at this location is going down in the past year. read more

I went here to have a tennis racket re-gripped for my daughter, save having to venture to Fairfax Circle (a lot farther away)...got help from an associate named Adam in the Tennis/golf department. He was extremely helpful, made us understand how to determine what grip sizes vary, etc. He changed it out within 20-25 minutes and it seemed to fit just right. he was very knowledgeable about grip sizes and both saved us a lot of driving and cost. I understand that this is a newer store so the expectation of the staff, the customers and the managers is that there is a higher standard than the surrounding Dicks Sporting goods, but this location blows the Bailues Crossroads Location out of the water. Friendly staff, huge selection comparered. There's is a small hunting sectiin, huge fitness sections as well as different types of apperal. The customer service is higher than expected at a retail store. Given the choice of making the trip to Baily's Crossroads or Springfield Town center I have to say my trips are going to be to Springfield. read more
