I usually enjoy browsing HomeSense for unique home items, but my recent visits left me disappointed. When I checked out on my last trip, the young gentleman at the register kept yawning and barely acknowledged me -- it came across as lacking basic manners and customer service. To make matters worse, a picture frame I bought turned out to be damaged in the corner when I unwrapped it at home. When I brought it back to return, the sales associate spoke to me in an accusatory tone and insisted that I had damaged it. I explained that I discovered the damage only after opening the packaging, but she refused to accept the return. Thankfully, I asked to speak with the Manager, who checked my receipt, realized I had purchased it just the day before, and resolved the situation professionally. I appreciated the manager stepping in, but the interaction should never have escalated to that point. Glad it was ultimately corrected, but the sales associate definitely needs better training in communication, customer courtesy, and how to handle returns without blaming customers. read more

I was in the area today due to my husband going to the medical center and getting his eyes dilated. Thus, it was possible that I may be the one driving home. Anyway...while he was at his appt., I decided to walk around the shopping center (FairLakes Promenade). I had seen Home Sense before but never got around to checking it out. Finally, got to do that today. At first glance, it looked like it was a furniture store. Yes, they have lots of furniture but a deeper look showed there was so much more. There are towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, household cleaning items, rugs and decorative items. My intention was just to look not buy. However, when I saw the food items, I realized that I needed a shopping cart. Things that caught my eye...imported pasta, pasta sauces, spices, sweets and a cleaning formulation for shower doors and mirrors. Truthfully, there were other items that attracted me but I exercised will power. For example, I saw a lovely vase but my sensible side said "we don't need another vase." There was artwork but sensible side said "We have enough of that and only so much wall space". When I went to check out, the cashier was friendly. I found out, when he tried to get me to sign up for a credit card, that they are part of a conglomerate that includes TJ Maxx. No, we don't need another credit card! My haul ended up costing $35 plus change. Once we were home, I showed my husband my haul. He asked what it cost and was pleasantly surprised. Aw, gee! I'm so proud of myself :D So, no regrets for paying Home Sense a visit! read more

I loved all the random knickknacks I found here today. So many seasonal decorations that was at a good price point. I'm not too sure how it's that different than HomeGoods. It didn't have that many selections of just about every hardware or furniture category. I went there today looking for a potential settee and dining set. Neither category had a robust selection. It did have a lot of kitchenware and home textiles but again, less selection compared to HomeGoods but as we know, HomeSense is supposed to have less emphasis on that. Overall, I loved the mirrors and painting they offered. I ended up buying 4 wall decorations and Easter garlands. Yes, everything but what I originally went in there for! Haha! On a side note, parking was easy and checkout was very short. read more

Love the organized and comfy feel to this place. I came here on their first day of grand opening, only to browse. Yea... I came away with things. Location: conveniently nestled next to Barnes and Nobles Place inside: Spacious, sometimes tight between the aisles, but organized and loved how it's color coordinated or like items are grouped together. Price: still same as any other HomeGoods and all, but content with their neat home decor and pricing. Service: a bit biased, as I came here on opening day.. and a few days after.... and a couple weeks after. Overall, friendly, not too pushy for opening HomeSense cc. Feedback: Heck yea I'm coming back! Definitely lots of good finds, love their chandelier options, hung nicely to see if it's a good fit for your dining/kitchen nook place. read more

I discovered this store after I moved away from the area and now wishes I knew about it years ago. I think people mistakenly think it is like a Home Goods but it is not. It has a far bigger collection of decor, furniture, furnishings, etc. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable and this location has great staff. I like this location since it is right next door to a Barnes and Nobel. Great vibe to this place. read more

This is my neighborhood Homesense, also the best one I have ever been, the store is always clean bright and with most of selections. The main point I want to write the review tonight is the service. Judith, I asked her name because of her service. I came late tonight at 9:30, and finished the payment at 9:55. She volunteered to help take the big furniture to my car with another staff member. Love love love!! Homesense is the new store owned by TJmaxx and HomeGoods brands. They have a mix of affordable and adorable furniture for indoors and outdoors, beautiful artwork, mirrors, decor and even a large selection of gorgeous plates, bowls and kitchen wear. They have a huge section of rugs as well. I would say this store has way more furniture than HomeGoods and less food. Excited to go back!! read more

I just outfitted a remodeled bath and spent over $300 at this store. When I got home a $5.99 item was broken. The manager refused to exchange it today based on "policy". For a mere $5.99 they have lost a repeat customer. I love the store and its items. But because of this "policy", I will not be back. I would recommend not purchasing anything that may get broken in transport from this store - the item was wrapped, but not well enough to not break. read more

You would think during a pandemic when u enter a store with 2 people guarding the doors you'd be safe inside. Not this store. People walking without masks and when I told the guards by the entrance they said we told her but she walked in. Wtf Another issue I had is when the employee that was getting things back and forth to the register from the isles has to come in between me and my 2 little kids and cut us off? Huge store with a good amount of large rug options. The price point is similar to Home Goods with various options. My friend for a huge geometric shaped shelf display for $150 which seemed fair for the quality and size. One employee was very nice and helpful in getting it down from the top row of their display shelves. They also had a big pot with a wooden holder for $40, which again seemed like a good price compared to Merrifield's pots. Great place to find house items. read more

If you've just recently moved or need to freshen up a space, this is a great place for updated, discounted in and outdoor furniture, lighting, inspiration pieces, wall art and decor. It's the sister-store to HomeGoods, but with a wider selection of the larger items (example: a set of barstools and chairs instead of one random chair). The one at this location has reliable, friendly staff. I inadvertently left my wallet in their bathroom, and a kind customer reported it. Their thoughtful staff locked it up in their safe and waited for me to return to pick it up. So grateful for their trustworthiness! Will definitely shop here again. read more

This store is absolutely amazing. The manager (I think his name is Michael) is the ideal manager. He does everything from help you load items onto your truck to give advice and speed upall transactions. I constantly go to this Homesense because it has an amazing inventory and the furniture is really affordable and durable. I cannot say enough about how much I love Homesense, especially THIS Homesense. I almost want to keep it a secret but it would be unfair to the Manager not to give him a sterling review considering how he went out of his way to help me out several times. read more

Fairly nice store. Has very nice quality furniture, kitchen and bath goods. Very much like an 'At Home' store. I will however 'warn buyers' that if you purchase an item(s) in the store, they will only hold for 3 days. They also do not have a delivery service, but will recommend a contractor delivery service (which is rather expensive). We purchased a rug from there today, but now will have to determine how to pick up this carpet in a 3 day window since the delivery service is over $100 which we will not use since that is nearly the price we paid for the carpet. Just giving buyers a heads up! Before you purchase anything large just know that you will need to pick your items up in 3 days, should you need them to hold for you! read more

Rip-off. Bought a couch for $750 & one of the back legs broke within a month. Called asking for an explanation and was told that I could get a $100 discount on a newly purchased couch. Or return it for a refund. Perhaps they underestimate the cost of transporting a couch to a storefront location if you don't own a U-Haul. read more
