The machine had only been tested by running water through it, which is a normal step to determine whether it functions properly and meets expectations. Despite this, the staff refused to accept the return. What made the experience even more frustrating was the attitude of the employees. Instead of focusing on helping a customer who had just made a purchase, they repeatedly questioned why I bought the machine in the first place. This felt dismissive, unprofessional, and completely irrelevant to the issue at hand. I understand that stores have return policies, but the way this situation was handled showed very little regard for customer satisfaction. A coffee machine is not something you can truly evaluate without at least setting it up and testing it. Refusing a next-day return after minimal use and then interrogating the customer about their purchase decision is not the level of service I expected from a specialty kitchen retailer. This experience has left me with a negative impression of Sur La Table, and I will think twice before making another major purchase there.

We made an appointment online the night before, and when we got in, Nickie was there to help us. She walked us through all of the different chairs and features, and helped me find a chair that fit best! She was really knowledgeable and extremely helpful! She even broke out some magnet tiles for our toddler to play with while we waited! My wife is even considering getting a new chair for her office, too. Disappointed in Hardwood Artisans--Luxury Quality, Zero Accountability…read more I purchased a high-end custom hardwood bed from Hardwood Artisans because of their reputation for craftsmanship and durability. The bed is beautifully designed, but unfortunately, the company does not stand behind their product. Eight years ago, we had carpet installed in our home. The installers, unaware of any special handling requirements, moved the bed carefully but without any warning from Hardwood Artisans that it required "extra special care." Fast forward to today: we recently discovered (eight years after the new carpet) a severe, 18 inch crack forming in one of the hardwood side panels at the joint. When I contacted Hardwood Artisans, they immediately blamed the carpet installers and refused to honor their warranty. However, their warranty and product materials never mentioned that moving the bed could cause structural damage. A high-end piece of furniture should not fall apart simply from being moved once in a reasonable manner. If it does, the company should at least inform customers of the risks in writing. I escalated the issue to Curt, the CEO, hoping for a fair resolution, but he still refused to take responsibility. Instead of standing by their craftsmanship, they chose to deny accountability and leave a loyal customer with an expensive, damaged product. If you're considering purchasing from Hardwood Artisans, beware--you may be paying for "luxury," but you won't get the service to match.

In September, I notified the company that I had a severe case of COVID, and they immediately stated that the installation would be canceled.Then,I was told I would be charged an extra $200.00 for cancelling.I had to argue in my very sick state with several Calico personnel before this additional charge was retracted.I was offered only 11/1/24 for the new installation date-1 day prior to the rescheduled reception date.When the man showed late to install the drapes, they were defective.I then missed having them for Thanksgiving,the holidays,and a milestone birthday for my husband and myself in December.The entire purpose of purchasing these drapes was ruined; the price was 3 times what I had originally been estimated; the drapes are merely ok; there has been no follow up since they were installed; and I could have ordered something similar from Amazon for 1/3 the price. Except for the salesperson, Bridgett, who was very nice and apologetic, the manager and other employees there were rude and difficult. I feel that I wasted a lot of money for something that was far than satisfactory.
