I ordered my custom made Lovesac back in February and it arrived in May. A third party delivery company (Fidelitone) was set up to both deliver and assemble the pieces, as I was not about to give that a go. LOL
So, I receive delivery of the 9 pieces on a Friday, but I would not allow the guys to perform the assembly, as they were FILTHY from having moved all day. They were also both sweating profusely, as it was an unusual 95 degrees that day. My delivery was around 3:30pm. One of the guys started by removing some plastic and immediately got one of my cushions dirty. I stop them immediately and we call Fidelitone.
I let the Fidelitone rep know that, between the dirt, dust and sweat, I am not going to allow the guys to assemble the Lovesac. I convey to them that I paid far too much money to have it dirtied on the very day it is delivered by the very people delivering it! Neither of the reps I speak with are particularly friendly or helpful, but they finally agree to reset the date to Monday just to have the pieces assembled (all of the pieces were already unboxed and in my home). The rep tells me they can't guarantee that I will be the first stop on the schedule and that no one can override the schedule manually. I tell them that i don't want to keep wasting anyone's time, but if the next guys are dirty and sweaty, I will turn them away as well. They claim they that they can only make a request, but assure me that those requests are typically fulfilled.
That Monday, I arrange time off from work to be home between the given hours of 10am - 2pm. 2 o'clock comes and goes and I hear nothing from Fidelitone. A few minutes after 2pm, I call to inquire about the whereabouts of the assembly people and I'm first told that they came and went. I say that is absolutely not true, as I have not left my house all day. I'm placed on hold for about 15 minutes and when the rep comes back, she tells me that I had been removed from the schedule and then added back and that my new time is from 4 - 7pm. This day and Friday, there was never any apology from any rep for the inconvenience, the miscommunications, the misinformation, nothing. Just borderline nasty attitudes and unhelpfulness, as though they are doing me a favor to deliver and assemble this very expensive furniture. I inform them that I feel it very likely that the new assembly people will also be dirty and that I will turn them away if they are. I also tell them that everything that has happened is absolutely unacceptable and that I'm also going to call Lovesac and inform them of what is transpiring.
My next call (around 2:15 or so) is to the Tyson's corner Lovesac, where I purchased my pieces. Sven picks up the phone. I remind him that he assisted me the very first time I entered the store and spent the next 2 or so hours answering my countless questions, showing me swatches and generally showing a lot of love for the products and the company itself. I express to him that I am highly frustrated and recount all that occurred on Friday and just a few minutes prior to our call. He listens intently and tells me that I have every right to be upset and that Fidelitone should have done a much better job, as they are reflective of Lovesac (I completely agree!). He apologizes sincerely for my inconvenience and frustration and asks me how far away from the store I am located (I'm about 3 minutes away). He asks me to sit tight while he calls and cancels the assembly people and says that he himself or another store employee will come over to assemble everything in the next hour or so. I finally breathe a sigh of relief.
A few minutes later he calls back to update me and then he shows up at my house within the next hour. He puts everything together perfectly and quietly, all while I am stuck on a conference call for work. Several of the covers are damaged, so he orders new ones without me having to ask. He makes sure that the nap of the velvet is facing in the same direction. When I get off my call, he takes the time to show me how everything works for this absolutely gorgeous furniture. He puts an extra piece under the foundation for me. He moves the sofa around a bit so that I can decide the best spot for it. He patiently waits while I field multiple calls from the Fidelitone assembly person whom Fidelitone never even bothered to call and inform that the job was canceled. He rearranges the ottoman in another direction to show me why it works better the original way he assembled it. He then arranges it back to the original formation once I agree.
In short, Sven exhibited the utmost in professionalism, initiative, patience, helpfulness, good judgment and friendliness. He ultimately made me feel very glad that I had ordered from Lovesac and essentially erased the VERY negative experience I had with Fidelitone.
I have already recommended Lovesac to my friends and family because of my experience and I look forward to enjoying it and buying more pieces in the future! read more
