We walked in to the spacious showroom. We were told all items were a la carte and the person at the counter seemed friendly and welcomed questions. The furniture seem sturdy, modern, and the variety was pretty good. The price point seemed reasonable. I don't know about the availability of all the items and fear there will be quite a delay in delivery, but that seems to be across the board for any furniture in general lately as a result of the pandemic-caused shortage.

My mom and dad use to come shopping around this store when I was younger. Today I saw this place was open and decided to check out the store. The outside furniture looks nice, but not really calling my name. I also have a lot of mosquitoes in my back yard so I don't really use the back yard. More likely because I don't care for the backyard which is very small and not peaceful to me. Still I did like the table tennis, foosball and the air hockey machine. I could picture this in my house, but I tend to keep to myself. I am not a social person now adays, and Yelp people aren't very social on Yelp from what I have seen. I am digressing again. I am glad this business is open, because i have seen to many place that have closed their doors. The lady I spoke to was polite and helpful. She did stand 6 feet away during these Coronavirus times. I thanked her, but did not need assistance this time around. I might check this place out again with someone else. We will decide then.

I did not realize, as it is not in the description online, that the floor of the chest was plastic mesh. I cut the mesh with the box cutter. There was no indication on the outside of the box to not use a knife or box cutter. I reached out to the company and they blamed me and said they would send a replacement for $600+. They did not take accountability for not have a better plan for packaging and providing information for opening the box. I understand how I opened the box was not ideal, but I am not sure how I was supposed to know. The cost of replacement seemed ridiculous for plastic mesh. I will no longer order from them.

The store is even more beautiful and inspirational than the catalog. It was nice to be able to see the quality of items and feel different textiles like the outdoor curtains and bath towels. I also find a lot their furniture, like their office collection, to be very functional. I would describe the overall feel of Ballard Designs items as comfortable but more glitzy and glam than Pottery Barn. I'm sorry to read all of the negative reviews on Yelp - they definitely make me think twice about ordering custom furniture from Ballard.
