Keda and Bente were a pleasure to work with and were always responsive to my questions about the project. Keda explained integrated versus lamp/bulb ready and how to use the BT app to change the colors of the lights. Keda even offered advice on taking care of my crape myrtle trees! I highly recommend Nupen Lighting for any lighting landscape project. read more

SERVICE Review - the Nupen team is always professional and steadfast in standing behind their work. I had some additional lights installed and some animals had chewed the power lines which caused a disruption. In the summer heat, they made their best efforts to make their way out to me. Once here, they repaired the line and added some additional protections to prevent it from happening again. They stand by their products and provide up front and professional service. As I've said in my previous reviews, just save yourself the time and headache of shopping for a lighting vendor. They are specialists and stand by their work. Worry free from beginning throughout the ownership of your lighting system. read more

When Lighting was installed, I was told that the lighting had a Life Time Warranty. What they don't tell you is that applies to the light Bulbs only and if Luppen Installs them it cost $150/visit even if only one light is replaced. If you do it yourself you have to mail in the burned out bulbs bedore they send you replacements. All-in All not a very good Life Time warranty. Other Lighting companies provide better. read more

My wife and I recently decided to look into landscape lighting for our house/yard. We met with and received quotes from three companies - Nupen being one of them. We decided on Nupen for a couple reasons. First, their rep whose name is Walter, did a wonderful job of helping us conceptualize what would work best for our house and flagged important design details that in retrospect, I can't imagine us not building into the project. Second, Nupen offered what we felt was the best value for the right price and their reviews across various sites were/are consistently high. Couldn't be more pleased with the final product. The work was fast, you can hardly tell that there was any digging, and the results are picture perfect. Thank you Walter and the Nupen team. We will enthusiastically recommend you all to anyone who asks. read more

Betsy R. For several years we had been using a well known landscape lighting company but year after year we became increasingly disappointed in their quality of work. As their prices increased, their creativity and attention to detail decreased so I decided to turn to google to find the perfect landscape lighting designers. We found that perfect company: NUPEN LIGHTING! Our first interaction with Nupen was with Walter. He came to our home and provided us with wonderful suggestions on how we could enhance the lighting that was already in place. He took the time to answer all our questions. He had us in love with Nupen before we even had anything done! He quickly arranged a time for us to meet with Keda. Keda is amazing! We listened to all his suggestions and decided to give him the OK to begin our project. Our new lighting was installed by Nupen's incredibly skilled and professional team. Keda did not leave our home until everything had been completed. We could not be happier with the results. All of Keda's suggestions made a HUGE difference. We have a very large tree that we have always had wrapped. Never has anyone wrapped it as beautiful as the Nupen team. It is absolutely an eye catcher. Keda offered a few more suggestions for us which we plan on doing in September. There will be no need to search google ever again for lighting designers...we finally found a company that truly cares about their clients...they are honest, their estimates are spot on and fair, their work is flawless and they are a pleasure to work with. We cannot say enough about both Walter and Keda and the entire Nupen Team. There are not enough stars to give this amazing company! Call them for any of your lighting needs, I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

I'd been looking for a company to do some exterior lighting to include hanging cafe lights for the better part of a year. Nupen was super responsive, fairly priced, and did an amazing job. Highly recommend for pathway lights, moon lighting, up lighting, cafe lights, etc. Great people, great company! read more

We found Nupen Lighting on the net. It's a very small operator, just four or five guys, with little exposure on recommendation sites. We have a 3,000 sq ft house in Chevy Chase that needed a lot of lighting work: Lights along a 70-foot path to the street to the door, for a street-side porch, for two big crepe myrtles and two smaller trees, for illuminating two furnished settings for lounging, and for night time lights for a swimming pool. Walter G, the head guy, and his crew of three, tackled all of this quickly and without a single misstep, and all for much less than we dared expect. We're wary of the risks of relying on the internet for contractors so we depend largely on instinct and trust. On the phone, Walter exuded competence, experience--and trust. We went with that. We're unequivalently pleased. read more

I met with 4 lighting companies and Nupen was the only one who didn't try to sell me a bunch of equipment I didn't need. Walter was the only one who explained why the existing lighting would work. They came out, did the work within a few days and I could not be happier. They are officially my only lighting provider moving forward. I also like the one on one attention. I can email or text Walter directly and he will give me the best options now that I've decided to add to my system. Thank you Nupen and Walter! read more

Words cannot describe our complete happiness and satisfaction with the service, quality service, technical expertise, and value provided by Keda, Walter, and the great Nupen Lighting team! We contacted four other lighting companies who said what we wanted could not be done. Nupen proved them wrong! Our home is illuminated like a stunning majestical work of art! Keda leads by example, is highly ethical, is a true expert, supports and values ALL customers, provides the best designs, and delivers quality! Nupen Lighting is the very best in the business without competition! read more

Keda is amazing. See my previous review for another company called Enlightened Lighting. I'm so glad I switched from them to Nupen. These folks are honest, friendly, prompt, thorough, and very communicative. I've enjoyed my correspondence with walterg in the office, but Keda is the real rockstar. He just knows what he's talking about. He enhanced what I already had in place, and it's made all the difference. People are in awe of how amazing my outdoor landscaping lighting it is. Please call them -- you seriously won't regret giving your business to an actual family business versus Others which just sent you fancy mailers. read more

Very happy with the quality and efforts of work. Communication was excellent and even had an issue today with power outage from yesterday night storm and both Walter and Keda helped me in matter of minutes to source the issue and get the lights back on to schedule. Highly recommend them for landscaping and front house lighting work. Very professional work and service. read more

Keda and Walter were fantastic to work with. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. I should have installed landscaping light a long time ago. Price were cheapest out of the three companies I found. Quality of work is very professional read more

Such an outstanding team of people working here. They did my outdoor lights a couple of years ago. Recently I had a problem with the lights. They came & worked on it with no hesitation. We selected Nupen lighting to come and fix our outdated outdoor light system. We did not want all new lights and gave Keda a budget and he worked magic! We have some new fixtures to replace broken ones and they were able to rebuild some older one so we did not need to buy a whole new set. We also switched to led lights. After many years of trying different companies or referrals, we are so glad we found Nupen who pulled everything together and eliminated 3 electrical boxes and put everything we needed into 1electrical box inside of garage. No more trying to coordinate light times. Walter and Keda were very helpful on the phone and answered a myriad of requests and came back quickly to fix a light that kept going out. I would not hesitate to use Nupen lighting. Our home looks so much nicer now and our only regret was not using them sooner. read more

I'll try not to gush...ok, I'm going to gush. From the very first contact with Walter, his coming out to do an estimate and listening to our desire for understated landscape lighting, the quick scheduling of the job, to the excellent installation--Nupen is hands down the best there is. Part of the job was fixing some of the Volt lighting I'd installed a few years ago, half of which was no longer working. Nobody ever said what an amateur job I'd done, nor did anyone try to sell me all new gear to replace it. They told me what I'd bought was good stuff, and they'd repair it and get it back into working condition. Then, they helped us decide what understated lighting could look like and put together a plan. The price was reasonable, the crew was fantastic, and nobody ever tried to really sell us anything. Following the install, we couldn't wait for it to get dark so we could see what they'd done. The job turned out great, and I couldn't be more excited to recommend Nupen for anyone looking to really change the ambience of their yard with lighting that suits your taste. read more

Only the highest praise for Nupen Landscape and Lighting. Keda and Walter were professional and responsive from the first phone call all the way to the installation and follow up. They completed the work efficiently and came back to make necessary adjustments. The lighting in the front of our home and back yard is much improved. The fixtures are subtle but make such a difference. We are so happy we found this wonderful company. read more

If you are like us, the love affair with your home begins the moment you see your home from the street after a long day at work. Our home was dark until Nupen Lighting worked its magic. Just like you, we poured thru the reviews and interviewed several contractors. When we met Keda, the owner, we were sold. We can assure you that the 5 star reviews on this company are absolutely accurate. The day of installation was smooth and the installers were efficient, kind and respectful. Keda will blow you away with his recommendations and yet, he doesn't over sell one bit! We are elated with the outcome. Excited about future projects and are so grateful we chose this company. The love affair with our home continues and so will yours if you choose this company! read more

We have used Keda with Nupen Lighting for quite a few years now, each time adding to our landscape or lighting on our deck. He recently retrofitted our deck with LED lights and updated our stairway to the deck. I can't say enough about this individual and his company including Walter who answers the phone and handles all his administrative things. If only every company could copy the way he conducts his business. His customer service, and his attention to detail, his professionalism as well as his honesty and integrity are superior. If I could give him more than five stars, I certainly would. He goes over and above and even offers to help with other things he sees. If you have any lighting needs for your landscape or your deck, etc. I strongly recommend you contact Nupen lighting. read more

Poorest customer service imaginable. I called three times for an appointment to repair or replace the step lighting at my home. They NEVER returned my calls. Reading the reviews it looks like they do great work. I wish they would have shown me the courtesy to return my inquiries. Instead they have chosen to ignore me. Given my work in real estate, BIG MISTAKE on their part! read more

My wife and I met with Keda Nupen and went over the landscaping lighting options at our home and he gave us amazing ideas and is creating the most beautiful outdoor lighting experience, we are so happy with his company and work. The other day we were actually in the process of having the stone work to our outdoor pool and Jacuzzi completed that next morning and one of his ideas was to put lighting on / in the Jacuzzi stone work ... this had to be done quickly and he came that next morning right away with lights, tools and wiring to get those items done right before the pool contractors completed the masonry work. It turned out fantastic. Keda is very honest, professional, and committed to customer service. I highly recommend Nupen Lightening to do all your lighting at your home. read more

We bought a fairly new home and with the exception of two lights on the garage and one at the front door, no real outside lighting. We chose to go with Neupen Lighting because of the positive online reviews they've received along with competitive pricing. A little more than a week ago they installed 4 low voltage led lights to illuminate columns on the front of the house, a flood light above a front awning, 2 lights onto both sides of the house, and a timer/control box inside the garage. We are happy with the aesthetically pleasing appearance; that the lights are not overpowering especially the side lights that provide a floodlight effect but again, aren't overpowering; and we're especially pleased with the added sense of security this provides. We were impressed with Nupen's workers who showed up on time; went about their job and even though it was lightly raining, finished with no issues; and finally, I was especially pleased that they were able to add two additional lights that I originally hadn't ordered. We have no reservations about recommending Nupen. read more

We recently purchased a home with existing exterior home lighting that had some issues (a severed wire between the photoelectric sensor and the control panel, a control panel located outside which probably led to the severed wire, and a photoelectric sensor hidden behind a bush.) Nupen Lighting was willing and able to diagnose the problem with the current setup and move the panel inside the garage and the sensor to a better location for a very reasonable price. It's all working perfectly now. Other exterior lighting companies were more interested in trying to sell an entire new system rather than fix the existing one. read more

After three phone calls and an email which went unanswered, Nupen has not lived up to its commitment to replace for free my deck ramp lights, three of which are not working properly. Nupen's lack of attentiveness is surprising, the on-site manager and installation crew were professional and courteous when the work was performed, and have returned to replace lights as they failed, which has been often. Nupen claims they received a flawed batch of lights, and therefore would replace them as they failed rather than give me a few to change out as the lights failed. Now that three lights have failed, and Nupen has refused to respond to my request for new lights--I would even pay to just get them--I have to find an outlet like Dominion Electric and hope they carry the lights that I need. If I cannot, the several thousand dollars I paid for the deck and ramp lighting will be lost, which is unacceptable. I am puzzled by Nupen's total disregard for my needs, and believe that I need to inform potential Nupen customers that they may fail them as they have me. I never post reviews but in this case Nupen needs to be held accountable for neglecting to live by its commitment to customers. read more
