The 10 books they bought from me for $1.10
    Tori H.

Ok I know what you might be thinking, a 2 stars?! My initial reaction to finding this store was "I'm in love! A book lovers delight!!" Bc there was so many books everywhere and it was sectioned off by genre. I thought I had found the bookstore jackpot, but honestly, this was so disappointing!! Unorganized and inconsistent: Yes, there's so many books but it is extremely unorganized. You cannot find anything you want to read or purchase here. Nothing is sorted and even when you try to look for something to catch your eye, you can't. This stores website makes it seem like a second hand store, but its collection is mixed with new books and used books but nothing is labeled so you wouldn't know. Their prices are all over, some are regular priced, some discounted, it's hard to find consistency. Random things: I will say, I like their selection of knickknacks- Funko pop, tshirts, games, manga, aesthetic things!! It reminded me of a mix of Urban Outfitters and Little Thingamajigs.. I know that sounds random but that was the vibe! Hahah They also sold CDs, DVDs, vinyl albums, guitars, record players. Buy, sell, trade: The website also states that they buy, sell and trade books. They made it seem like a great deal and that we would be able to get some money back. As a teacher, I brought in two boxes full of books, thinking they'd be able to buy my books that I cannot use in my classroom. They took 10 of my books for $1.10!?!!!!! They also told me they couldn't sell back any of my books so they'd be donating them ?!!!!!!!?????? Yet.. I found some of the books on the shelves that they did sell.. it seemed too sussy for me. I would NOT RECOMMEND selling here!!! It's not worth your time. Customer service: Also, the customer service both times was rude. The first time at drop off, the cashier was standoffish. The second time, I received a phone call where he asked "when will you come pick up your stuff? We couldn't take most of it" It seemed to me that I was the one who was bothering them by offering to sell books they didn't want to take in. I didn't appreciate the interactions. Overall, I am extremely disappointed by this bookstore. I thought I found a hidden gem but it's just a mess. It makes me sad to rate a bookstore so low. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately, it's at a loss for me.

Lots of books in clearance and in good condition. They also have a stack of common Pokemon cards for collectors. All the good /rare ones are put in a glass case though. Nice people but the shelves are terribly disorganized and it is hard to find certain books, if they have it. Clean location and nice staff.

This place is awesome! It's like if Barnes & Noble got together with FYE / Suncoast/Tower Records/ Sam Goody/Funcoland and was done by Borders! They have everything you can think of from music, movies, TV shows, Anime collectibles, games, even vinyl records and vinyl record players! I even found a gift for my fiance who is a huge Harry Potter fan! We were in the area celebrating the last day of my bachelor party and I wanted to check out the store. I wanted to get a small token of appreciation for my fiancé for when I came back home. They have a huge selection of all different types of items even video games and guitars on the wall! If I have any money left over after the wedding I will definitely be returning to this awesomely nostalgic Time Capsule of a store! The staff is also very kind and courteous that I interacted with the one thing I will mention is because they have a wide selection of rare items you will pay a premium for a lot of these things because they are hard to find, however that does not mean they can't be had for a good price or you can't find things in the store on sale because I did notice a lot of things on sale. However, even with the sale prices you are essentially paying a premium for the convenience of finding everything you could want at this Hidden Gem of rare collectibles in just about every medium conceivable. Insert mind-blowing Emoji three times as I went wow this place is amazing I can't believe they have that! Quite a few times

This place has so much great potential! I wanted to give it more stars bc of the sheer volume of books and music and games they have! It was a little hard to find things though - and I kept having to ask the employees where I could find books. The kids section isn't organized in a way I understand so i didn't really know how to find things. We are lucky to have some incredible libraries in our area so my kids felt like this was another library and didn't realize we actually had to buy these books. I also was unclear of what was 'new' vs 'used' - and had to ask a bunch of times. We came with some books to sell and they buy it back as a group so I couldn't really see what they would take for each book since they give you a number and then text you once it's ready. We'll keep coming back though bc it's such a cool store and I'd love to be able to eventually find some amazing treasures.

For the BTS fanatic in your life.

All I can say is thank goodness for libraries and 2nd & Charles! Raising a future bibliophile does not come cheap but between these two places, replenishing our bookshelves should be easy on the wallet. Here are some highlights and first impressions of the 2nd & Charles Chantilly location: 1. A massive space with a large and diverse selection of used and new books. The store is definitely designed to appeal to a younger crowd or the young at heart. Besides books, the store is well-stocked with games, puzzles, toys, and other fun and random trinkets . It's a great place for unique gifts. 2. LOVE the children's section for its huge selection. Labels for baby books, beginner readers and others are extremely helpful. The downside is the shelves themselves aren't always well organized, making it a challenge to search and find a particular title or author. 3. Reasonable prices for used books. I nabbed a few picture books in good quality for my little girl for $3! 4. Surprisingly, the children's section doesn't have a dedicated area for Spanish-language books. Oddly I found two in the Spanish-language section under adult fiction. I'm guessing and hoping they were there by error? A little disappointing. 5. Ironically the lighting in the store isn't great for reading. But if you wanted to hang out here all day (which is tempting), there is seating at the back of the store. There are also appeared to be a bar with additional seating to the left of the entrance of the store. Friendly staff. Inviting environment. Affordable prices. You can't ask for more from a second-hand bookstore.

Great bookstore with staff that for the most part can't be bothered. Good luck if you're in a hurry or need recommendations.

I'm shocked at how much space they have for their games because it's almost like walking into a warehouse full of games, anime figurines, and merch. Everything out in the open games are shrink wrapped and it does help keep that minty fresh condition, I'm sure you don't want to see dust on items you want to buy. The back section used to be an open spot where they would host events. The Gamers Exchange was what I looked forward to the most when going here. Local sellers sold games and it brought a sense of community. There's now more of their section to test and repair consoles so I suppose it's for the better but those were the days.. Apart from all the cool video games to check out I have a few complaints. Like many, checking out here takes too long and I wonder if it's just something where their point of sales is just outdated. Even then, there's only one person just checking out people.. why not have more than one register at a time? There's the option to use WiFi but I could never get it to work. Although there are computers around to look up items that you want to check the price on, it can be a tad slow sometimes. I do like the convenience of checking out what's in stock but sometimes that's not always the case. I remember a few times asking someone that worked there if they had a game, they could not find the game at all and that put a damper on my visit. If I can't see it in person in store then most likely it's probably bought online. Otherwise I find this store to be such a joy to visit. While I think the prices are kinda high, I don't think any game store in the area could really compute. They have games ranging from NES - Recent and that's pretty impressive alone. It's so cool to visit a store that caters to anime and video games enthusiasts.

The store itself is very unorganized, and the online inventory doesn't seem to accurately reflect what is actually available in the store, which makes it frustrating if you're coming in looking for something specific. The checkout experience was especially frustrating. The clerk took an unusually long time to complete a simple transaction, and it became pretty apparent that he was distracted or doing something else. After standing there waiting, I finally asked if everything was okay, and coincidentally my transaction was completed almost immediately afterward. I understand that stores get busy and employees have other things to handle, but basic communication and attentiveness go a long way. This could be a great place for people who enjoy browsing and collecting games, but unfortunately the poor customer service, disorganization, and inaccurate online inventory make it hard to recommend.

The website even displays logos for the major gaming companies, which gave me confidence that my items would be considered. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I brought two Xbox systems to trade in: an Xbox One X White Special Edition and an Xbox One S with a 1TB hard drive. After arriving, the employee informed me that they were no longer accepting Xbox trade-ins because Xbox products were "not selling well." He also mentioned that I should have called ahead first. This was surprising, as there was no indication of this policy change on their website, which clearly indicate that trade-ins are accepted and it was the main reasons I made the long trip to the store. During the interaction, I also noticed an Xbox One console for sale in the store. When I mentioned this, the employee explained that it was a special edition. I responded that, given the price it was listed at, it might be difficult to sell. Additionally, after briefly inspecting my systems, the employee incorrectly stated that my Xbox One X was a digital edition. I had to point out that it clearly has a disc drive and is in fact the white special edition model. Overall, the experience felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially after explaining that I had driven a long distance specifically because the store advertised trade-ins. If the store has changed its trade-in policies, it would be very helpful to update that information online so customers do not waste their time making unnecessary trips. This was my first experience with Arcana's, and unfortunately it will likely be my last.
