My husband and I frequent this shop just to browse around. We both got our IPod Classic's repaired here for a decent price. Everyone who helps us is always very polite and attentive. It's a nice little shop for repairs or just to browse through older games/systems. read more

Holy moly my PS4 was MESSED UP! Luckily I found out about Game-ER and I went there to hopefully restore my PS4. I went into the store and the employee named Jimmy greeted me warmly and kindly. He then asked me what was wrong with my PS4 I told him my fan wasn't working and my PS4 kept overheating and I told him I was trying to repair it myself. I showed him the product I was using and Jimmy informed me that I was using a subpar thermal paste. Jimmy then informed me they use the Arctic Silver brand at Game-ER and this let me know they using some high quality stuff. So I trusted Jimmy and his other employees with my suffering PS4. It took a weekend as they had to repair other consoles at the time which i thought was pretty fast. I got my PS4 back and I powered it on at home. I was afraid the fan would still be messed up and not cool down my PS4 but I didn't hear anything. I got closer to my PS4 and barely heard the fan that was spinning and pushing out the hot air while being completely silent. I was amazed, shocked, and extremely happy. If your console is messed up take your console to Game-ER! Thanks Jimmy and everyone else to worked on my PS4! read more

Found this little gem as i searched the inter-web for a place that repairs and sells games. Quality service and vintage games (both of which are in short supply nowadays from traditional retailers). Had both of my games (Xbox and Xbox 360) resurfaced and it was quick and easy. They work perfectly now! I will be taking my systems to get fixed here as Jimmy (the owner) genuinely seems to care about his customers. If you want quality service go check them out! read more

Very friendly owner, named Jimmy. Accommodating regarding repairs and will work with you on discounts for games and services for repairs. Would recommend as an honest and reliable shop owner with a pleasant demeanor. read more

I brought down my xbox after it gave me a red ring of death. They charged me 60, i think, and said it would work no problem. I asked what causes the problem and the guy said overheating. He said they would replace and resauter something and it would be good to go. The next day I get it home and it dies again in 20 minutes. So I take it back and the kid says no problem, its under warranty and we'll fix it. Next day get a call back and they wanted another 45 to fix it. They also added parts that I never agreed to. I refused and said remove the parts and he finally releases my xbox for another 25. Since then I only played a few minutes of my xbox and guess what? It just red ringed me again. Well both game er and Microsoft can go f themselves. Thanks for nothing!!! read more

me and my husband enjoy video game hunting and visiting local game stores , our experience at Gamer ER. was not a good one, besides that fact it's not worth visiting . very small sad selection of Retro games , second prices are high, third , the owner, or worker won't work on straight trades or have a reasonable deals on buying . Another thing note to owner. Claims a well known retro store asked for his permission to open in Ontario . We do know that is not true, only because business buy or even exchange a items don't make them your undelings. overall besides that. I don't recommend the time to visit . read more

I'm very happy with the service I received here. I dropped off my X-box with a burned out laser. They told me $60-70 to repair it. It was $70 and has worked perfectly ever since. Friendly staff, nice store, etc.. I will take my equipment there again if needed. read more

Niece put pennies in the ps4. So it was a very expensive Netflix machine for months. And we finally decided to bring here to fix it. The guys were super nice. Took it in and they said it would be a few days but I was able to pick it up the next day! read more

Three and a half months later, after using my Playstation 3 for about 48 more hours total, it suddenly died with a red blinking light and would not turn on anymore. I watched YouTube videos on what to do, checked inside the PS3, and there was not much dust. I called Game ER on a Saturday morning and spoke to a man, who I think is the store owner, and explained I had it repaired there before and now this happened. When I asked him how much it would cost to repair, he just said bring it in, and he would figure it out. Then I asked if he would buy my broken PS3, and he said bring it in, and he would figure it out. I asked how much it would cost to diagnose, and he said $20. I brought it in that afternoon, but the owner was not there anymore. The employee I had met previously was there. At least he was wearing a mask this time. He told me that because it was outside the warranty period of 60 days, I would have to pay another $20 for diagnosis. I asked if they would just buy it from me, but he said only the store owner can do that and I would have to come back when he was there. I complained that every time I go there, the owner is not there. (I had specifically gone there on a Saturday because I knew the store owner is only there on weekends.) The employee told me that usually, the owner is there all day on Saturdays, but he had to leave early to take his wife to a medical appointment or something. I took my broken PS3 to Pixel Vault in Ontario and explained my situation to that store owner. He asked if the people at Game ER had told me the problem would happen again with these fat PS3 models and that replacing the thermal paste was only a temporary fix. I told him no and that my $80 went down the drain. He was surprised when I told him Game ER charges $20 for diagnosis and extra money for parts because the Pixel Vault guy would have only charged me $45 total. In the end, he was nice enough to buy my broken PS3 for $30. It seems to me that when it comes to game console repairs, Game ER is all about making a profit off the customer. Pixel Vault is the way to go. Both places have good Yelp reviews, though. read more

Great place for latest platforms and basically every old school one you need to get your retro fix. The shop guy is super nice and helpful. Bought some snes controllers and got a new power cord for my Xbox 360. I try to support local business as much as possible, so I go here for my gaming needs. GamER rocks. read more

Read previous Yelp reviews and read this establishment buffs out scratches from game disc. I recently purchased a PS1 game for a great price do scratches on the disc. I took it to this location and $5 later it was like new and worked perfect. The employee who helped me was friendly and professional. They also had a large selection of retro and modern games. I will definitely be putting this place on my game hunting stops. read more

I was treated very well here. Very friendly and willing to work with me when I brought in my old Xbox and PlayStation 2 games. The prices were what I expected for old games. I had tried to take the games to Gamestop but they said that the games were too old/not in demand. I understood and decided to try here. From the moment I walked in I was treated very well. Now I know to go here before checking GameStop. This place is a mom and pop shop so I would rather support a small business than a large corporation, especially if the small mom and pop shop treated me as nicely and as well as they did. read more

What a great find, went in too look around and maybe find a xbox wireless controller. They have a good selection of used and new controllers, the young guy working at the time even gave us a deal on one. Other places wanted full retail for used stuff, we got an almost brand new one for a very good deal. We'll be back for sure. read more

Very cool place it was my first time and they had a ton of ps2 games that I was looking for. They have a large selection of most systems. The owner was very nice and helpful. Will definitely go back. I went back with my brother the next day to show my friend all the cool stuff. read more

So I went there to get my two PlayStation 3 controllers fixed. As soon as I drop them off he calls me back in about 20 minutes and says that they're working and that I need a new charging cable. When I first got there he did asked for a $10 deposit fee, Hello what does deposit mean, it means you get that money back. When I asked for my money back , all of a sudden said it was a service charge. To make a long story short be careful I wouldn't go there again sounds like they rip off people all the time. It really is sad to trust little mom-and-pop shops like this anymore. read more

Great customer service. Professional and knowledgeable. Provided multiple options for WIii repair. I would certainly recommend.

The staff is friendly, i like that they can negoticate a lil on the price. But thats why they do not have 5 they will bargin because prices are so high! They are not in touch with customers but they have quality products! read more

These guys are awesome. Always fast deliveries on prices. The owner cuts my roommate and I decent discounts on repairs and purchases. If you have a trade in then go here, they have better rates than GameStop. read more

I had some high hopes reading the reviews. Small store, clean, the employee seemed okay but everything is was way over priced. I understand stores needing profit but this was way over retail pricing. We left without purchasing anything and feeling like we wasted our time. Not sure how well they do on repairs. read more

Have been shopping here for three years and as much as I've tried to look past a lot of the problems here, today was the last I've had of this. I'm done shopping here and being disrespected while trying to be friendly & patient with each visit. I Came in today to purchase a controller but was side tracked by some Genesis games that were out of view behind the counter. I asked the owner Jimmy if I could take a look at them and of all things saw him sitting in a beach chair behind the counter, kind of putting off my questions even though I was interested in buying some of the games I saw on the stack. Telling me things like, "Oh those are expensive.", "Oh they're just doubles" (they were not, none of them were and this was just another excuse so he did not have to get up and do anything and help me), and the kicker "You know what we have here." Until finally I asked may I just see them, I am interested in buying some because I have been collecting a lot more of these games lately. He finally got up in an upset tantrum kind of way and pretty much threw the games at me with an angry sigh while swearing under his breath. I was taken aback at how incredibly rude he just was, as he has been before but this was probably the worst from previous experiences. As he started to immediately head back to lay in his chair and continue doing nothing, I told him if he did not want my business that he can just go ahead and tell me. He then gave me another kind of excuse about how I know what is stocked in the store? As if he never gets anything new in and I am supposed to know what he stocks at all times. Pretty much telling me I cannot ask any questions. If he wants to just lay around and not pay mind to anybody, why even come in to work? He doesn't even take his own business seriously. On top of that - He charges above ebay prices on most everything unless you're lucky and something slips by him (Rare to happen as he's always trying to get uninformed people to pay way above normal prices for retro games.) - Repair jobs are shoddy at best with a lottttttt of room for improvement while for some reason boasting about how he gets cheap parts off ebay to use. - Trade in value is some of the worst I've ever seen and has gypped my friends out of a lot of money (offering $4 for a valuable game my friend had no idea was uncommon and then immediately putting it back up on the shelf for $60.) - Absolutely will not work with you on prices and will try to guilt trip you into feeling like you're stealing from him while asking for some kind of deal or bundle. - Will straight up lie you -The place is filthy with garbage piled up behind the counter right in front of his television. Not hard to miss. lots of crusty take out boxes that sit there for weeks. - Will take your money for pre-orders and then never get the game in on time. - He will try and give you some false sense of security when doing business with him to give you the whole "you're my favorite customer shtick." to make you feel like you're getting a deal. - About 80% of games out on the floor go untested unless he knows he can make money off of a certain title. The only time you're ever going to enjoy yourself at this store is if the younger employee Victor is working. A lot of these top rated reviews I'm seeing have had people experience Victor's business ethics instead of Jimmy's. They have probably gone home to write these after only having an experience with the better employee, Victor. Victor really will make you feel like a friend. Quality person all around. So if you ever do plan on checking this place out (not sure why) walk out if you see a tall middle aged man introduce himself to you as Jimmy and then wait until Victor is in. Otherwise you're not going to enjoy yourself in the slightest. Unless you're okay with putting up with Jimmy's rude nature, awful prices, and terrible business ethics I would not recommend stopping by. The man has no business being in this line of work. Make of this information as you will, but I will not be shopping in his store ever again and am embarrassed I've wasted so much of my time and money here. I'm embarrassed to have considered this person a friend. read more

I have been shopping here for a few years. They have repaired my sons PS4 and recently he fixed my cracked IPhone. Thanks guys!!!

The "pad" of the joystick on my 3DS XL had broken off and after hearing about an upcoming game I'm pretty hyped about not being able to use the d-pad, I decided it was about time to get it fixed. I was recommended this place by the local Gamestop, looked it up here on Yelp, and messaged the business for a quote. I received a prompt and friendly reply with a very reasonable potential quote so I came in the next day. The store is nicely organized and has plenty of games for various consoles. Jimmy--who I believe I spoke with through the Yelp messaging system--was very friendly and understanding. I paid a $10 deposit fee, dropped off my 3DS, and left my contact information. He told me it should be ready in a few days. Few days go by and I receive a phone call telling me the solution they provided for me, the total cost of everything, and of course my 3DS is ready for pickup. All in all, my total was a very reasonable $23! Not far off from the original quote I received. So far, my 3DS is doing great and I definitely missed having an actual joystick. Thank you guys for a very pleasant experience and great service. Would recommend! read more

Heard the boss call in to check on how things were going, so he was following up. Would definatly go again. read more

I've been shopping here for about 4 years now and I have to say out of all the time I have been I have had not one bad experience. If anything the experience only haven gotten better from the start! Both the owner Jimmy and Victor are very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable in video games! It really makes a difference vs going into gamestop always feeling intimidated to hurry up and go and pressured into making extra purchases. Here I feel like I'm home, like I can take a breath and really look through the wide variety of games they carry, and if I have a question or concern not once have either of them have hesitated to assist me. As for their performance in repairs, I had an original Xbox that had been out of service for about 7 years and they fixed it in less then a day! Recently I had gone in for a copy of Halo 5 and unfortunately the used copy didn't work even after 2 resurfaces, but Jimmy went out of his way to order a new copy from his other store in LA, have it in his Chino store in 3 days and discounted it for the price of a used copy! This shows that he truly appreciates business with his customers. Pricing, some things may be a little too high, but a lot of the retro games are not even manufactured anymore and you have to consider the logistics behind stocking it in the store, so in retrospect the prices aren't a rip off. Overall this is definitely the place to come to if you're a true gamer, heck even causal gamer if you're curious! I really hope to see this become a big franchise because we gamers deserve stores like this where it's just all about video games, feel welcomed, can carry a conversation with the owner and employee and just have a good time visiting a video game store! Really hope a location in Ontario opens that will hopefully be a gaming lounge! read more
