This is a awesome little place hidden in a unassuming strip mall in Chino. If you are having trouble finding it, it is right across the parking lot facing the AAA. Anyways I really like this place, the guy that works there (Jimmy) is very cool, loves to talk with you and always is in a good mood. I go in there often to get discs with laser burn repaired ($5 bucks each). He also sells used games for all of the old systems (NES, SNES, SEGA etc.) and sells the consoles. He does repairs for iPhones, iTouch and all consoles as well. He does do some trade-ins and will usually match if not go higher then Gameflop would. Best of all I love going here because it supports small business and I much rather give my money to a chill business owner than a big faceless corporation. read more

Found this little gem as i searched the inter-web for a place that repairs and sells games. Quality service and vintage games (both of which are in short supply nowadays from traditional retailers). Had both of my games (Xbox and Xbox 360) resurfaced and it was quick and easy. They work perfectly now! I was treated very well here. Very friendly and willing to work with me when I brought in my old Xbox and PlayStation 2 games. The prices were what I expected for old games. I had tried to take the games to Gamestop but they said that the games were too old/not in demand. I understood and decided to try here. From the moment I walked in I was treated very well. Now I know to go here before checking GameStop. This place is a mom and pop shop so I would rather support a small business than a large corporation, especially if the small mom and pop shop treated me as nicely and as well as they did. read more

I brought down my xbox after it gave me a red ring of death. They charged me 60, i think, and said it would work no problem. I asked what causes the problem and the guy said overheating. He said they would replace and resauter something and it would be good to go. The next day I get it home and it dies again in 20 minutes. So I take it back and the kid says no problem, its under warranty and we'll fix it. Next day get a call back and they wanted another 45 to fix it. They also added parts that I never agreed to. I refused and said remove the parts and he finally releases my xbox for another 25. Since then I only played a few minutes of my xbox and guess what? It just red ringed me again. I'm very happy with the service I received here. I dropped off my X-box with a burned out laser. They told me $60-70 to repair it. It was $70 and has worked perfectly ever since. Friendly staff, nice store, etc.. I will take my equipment there again if needed. read more

Read previous Yelp reviews and read this establishment buffs out scratches from game disc. I recently purchased a PS1 game for a great price do scratches on the disc. I took it to this location and $5 later it was like new and worked perfect. The employee who helped me was friendly and professional. They also had a large selection of retro and modern games. What a great find, went in too look around and maybe find a xbox wireless controller. They have a good selection of used and new controllers, the young guy working at the time even gave us a deal on one. Other places wanted full retail for used stuff, we got an almost brand new one for a very good deal. We'll be back for sure. read more

Have been shopping here for three years and as much as I've tried to look past a lot of the problems here, today was the last I've had of this. I'm done shopping here and being disrespected while trying to be friendly & patient with each visit. I Came in today to purchase a controller but was side tracked by some Genesis games that were out of view behind the counter. I asked the owner Jimmy if I could take a look at them and of all things saw him sitting in a beach chair behind the counter, kind of putting off my questions even though I was interested in buying some of the games I saw on the stack. Telling me things like, "Oh those are expensive.", "Oh they're just doubles" (they were not, none of them were and this was just another excuse so he did not have to get up and do anything and help me), and the kicker "You know what we have here." Until finally I asked may I just see them, I am interested in buying some because I have been collecting a lot more of these games lately. He finally got up in an upset tantrum kind of way and pretty much threw the games at me with an angry sigh while swearing under his breath. I was taken aback at how incredibly rude he just was, as he has been before but this was probably the worst from previous experiences. As he started to immediately head back to lay in his chair and continue doing nothing, I told him if he did not want my business that he can just go ahead and tell me. He then gave me another kind of excuse about how I know what is stocked in the store? As if he never gets anything new in and I am supposed to know what he stocks at all times. Pretty much telling me I cannot ask any questions. If he wants to just lay around and not pay mind to anybody, why even come in to work? He doesn't even take his own business seriously. On top of that - He charges above ebay prices on most everything unless you're lucky and something slips by him (Rare to happen as he's always trying to get uninformed people to pay way above normal prices for retro games.) - Repair jobs are shoddy at best with a lottttttt of room for improvement while for some reason boasting about how he gets cheap parts off ebay to use. - Trade in value is some of the worst I've ever seen and has gypped my friends out of a lot of money (offering $4 for a valuable game my friend had no idea was uncommon and then immediately putting it back up on the shelf for $60.) - Absolutely will not work with you on prices and will try to guilt trip you into feeling like you're stealing from him while asking for some kind of deal or bundle. - Will straight up lie you -The place is filthy with garbage piled up behind the counter right in front of his television. Not hard to miss. lots of crusty take out boxes that sit there for weeks. - Will take your money for pre-orders and then never get the game in on time. - He will try and give you some false sense of security when doing business with him to give you the whole "you're my favorite customer shtick." to make you feel like you're getting a deal. - About 80% of games out on the floor go untested unless he knows he can make money off of a certain title. The only time you're ever going to enjoy yourself at this store is if the younger employee Victor is working. A lot of these top rated reviews I'm seeing have had people experience Victor's business ethics instead of Jimmy's. They have probably gone home to write these after only having an experience with the better employee, Victor. Victor really will make you feel like a friend. Quality person all around. So if you ever do plan on checking this place out (not sure why) walk out if you see a tall middle aged man introduce himself to you as Jimmy and then wait until Victor is in. Otherwise you're not going to enjoy yourself in the slightest. Unless you're okay with putting up with Jimmy's rude nature, awful prices, and terrible business ethics I would not recommend stopping by. The man has no business being in this line of work. Make of this information as you will, but I will not be shopping in his store ever again and am embarrassed I've wasted so much of my time and money here. The "pad" of the joystick on my 3DS XL had broken off and after hearing about an upcoming game I'm pretty hyped about not being able to use the d-pad, I decided it was about time to get it fixed. I was recommended this place by the local Gamestop, looked it up here on Yelp, and messaged the business for a quote. I received a prompt and friendly reply with a very reasonable potential quote so I came in the next day. The store is nicely organized and has plenty of games for various consoles. Jimmy--who I believe I spoke with through the Yelp messaging system--was very friendly and understanding. I paid a $10 deposit fee, dropped off my 3DS, and left my contact information. He told me it should be ready in a few days. Few days go by and I receive a phone call telling me the solution they provided for me, the total cost of everything, and of course my 3DS is ready for pickup. All in all, my total was a very reasonable $23! Not far off from the original quote I received. So far, my 3DS is doing great and I definitely missed having an actual joystick. So I went there to get my two PlayStation 3 controllers fixed. As soon as I drop them off he calls me back in about 20 minutes and says that they're working and that I need a new charging cable. When I first got there he did asked for a $10 deposit fee, Hello what does deposit mean, it means you get that money back. When I asked for my money back , all of a sudden said it was a service charge. To make a long story short be careful I wouldn't go there again sounds like they rip off people all the time. It really is sad to trust little mom-and-pop shops like this anymore. read more

I've been shopping here for about 4 years now and I have to say out of all the time I have been I have had not one bad experience. If anything the experience only haven gotten better from the start! Both the owner Jimmy and Victor are very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable in video games! It really makes a difference vs going into gamestop always feeling intimidated to hurry up and go and pressured into making extra purchases. Here I feel like I'm home, like I can take a breath and really look through the wide variety of games they carry, and if I have a question or concern not once have either of them have hesitated to assist me. As for their performance in repairs, I had an original Xbox that had been out of service for about 7 years and they fixed it in less then a day! Recently I had gone in for a copy of Halo 5 and unfortunately the used copy didn't work even after 2 resurfaces, but Jimmy went out of his way to order a new copy from his other store in LA, have it in his Chino store in 3 days and discounted it for the price of a used copy! This shows that he truly appreciates business with his customers. Pricing, some things may be a little too high, but a lot of the retro games are not even manufactured anymore and you have to consider the logistics behind stocking it in the store, so in retrospect the prices aren't a rip off. Overall this is definitely the place to come to if you're a true gamer, heck even causal gamer if you're curious! I really hope to see this become a big franchise because we gamers deserve stores like this where it's just all about video games, feel welcomed, can carry a conversation with the owner and employee and just have a good time visiting a video game store! They got back to me over the phone and gave me a quote through Yelp pretty quickly. Good people, explained everything, done very quickly.
