**Chino small business review/recommendation** I purchased a Wii for my 11 yr old nephew for Christmas. I asked CC for recommendations on where to buy video games for retro consoles. I received several recommendations (thank you CC) and decided to go with Game-ER in Chino. I took my nephew in yesterday and he got to meet and do business with Jimmy. He was so helpful, and an absolute pleasure. Today, my nephew couldn't get his Wii to turn on, so he had my Pops drive him straight to Jimmy to check it out. Jimmy took the time to show my little man how to properly turn the console off and on, and help him out with his very NEW but "OLD" Wii (cause I sure had no clue ) and saved the day! This was my first time ever going to this place, didn't know what to expect other than it being another heaven filled with games from Sega to Xbox Originals and many more, But I had to really hold myself a bit from buying a game here for now. Recently I bought a PS2 Video Game from Mercari (007: Everything or Nothing), of course it was sold at a cheap price, so I expected it to show an error/red screen on my PlayStation 2. So out of curiosity, I wanted to see if this place was able to resurface the disc I bought, since it is an ER lol. The Owner (assuming it was him) was very chill towards me and was able to resurface my game disc. It turned out great at end (as shown in later pictures). So i really recommend coming over here if you need any fixes on your game Discs, and I'll definitely be coming back here :P read more

Very disappointed in this place! Stay away! We took 2 ps2 consoles to have them fixed, if they both could not be fixed, then hopefully to get at least one working. They did not check it out properly, said it was repaired charged us for repair and gave us only one back. they ripped us off It was not repaired, had to bring it back and was told oh, we thought it was fixed. Great place to fix your old video game unit! Don't throw it away or sell for parts, first bring to Jimmy and maybe he can help you. We had a playstation2 unit just sitting and he was able to fix it within the week for only 39.99 each, now we can play our old games again...Yay! Also we have a original Nintendo unit not playing games anymore that will be working on soon, so I will update you guys on that one too! He was also able to fix a couple games including my daughters Zelda game that were not playing anymore on our Wii unit and now they work just perfect. The store also sells used games for all video game units and sells used refurbished video games consoles for much less than Game Stop. Tip: Bring 4 games to be fix your 5th one is free. I asked him a few questions if he buys a product I brought in, he was very dismissive and didn't want to hear what I had to say. I asked him for some suggestions of possibly maybe someone he may have known to buy the product I had on hand But again, he was very rude. again I do not recommend coming into this place. If they have this kind of customer service, take your business elsewhere, possibly to level up in Chino. read more

*Updated Review* I had an issue trying to unscrew the handles myself, I slightly striped the screws so I had to take it in to see if they could work their magic and they were able to. I love the way my Pro Controller looks now. The handles are glow in the dark, and the buttons look and feel great. Thanks again guys! read more

Responding to the owners reply to my review. He must be mistaking me for someone else but I never sold anything on OfferUp that I brought in. If I sold it already why would I be bringing it in for trade? And the only reason I was in there for 3 hours was because I was waiting to get a fair trade and the employee had to get an approval from the owner who was not there. Guys just look at the owners replies to everyone, if that doesn't say it all I don't know what does. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Game ER! My PS2 that I've had since 2001 has been sitting in its box since it shut down on me while playing it in 2006. For the longest, I was looking for a place to take it to figure out what the issue is and get it repaired so I can relive my favorite childhood memories. Lost Levels recommended Game ER (GER), I brought my PS2 to GER and they charged me $45 for diagnostic work. It took around a week for them to call me back and let me know that my power supply was faulty. They asked me if I wanted to proceed with the repairs. I wasn't in a rush since it's been quite some time since I last played it. I said yes and it took about another week. Once they called me, I arrived the next day to pick it up. I took my ps5 to get a HDMI repair he fixed it yeah but now my game can't run for a hour straight with just randomly turning off plus it was 140$ scam! The owner is friendly and personable. He was well versed in repairs of multiple gaming systems, and the store itself is well stocked with games for a variety of gaming platforms. Took my PS5 for a HDMI repair + free cleaning. The employee was very nice & professional identifying the issue. We had a great conversation about video games and why the price is way better than returning to Sony. He explained Sony takes months until you get to see your playstation plus they might even ease some data/memory from the console. If I recall, I can completely agree because thats what happened to my PS3 years ago. The repair took about 2 weeks for repair & ordering a new part due to high demand. The owner gave me another call claiming the repair is done but asked me if my PS5 is overheating or suddenly turn off because he noticed the chip in the center of the motherboard is lacking Liquid Metal which transfer heat from the APU to the heat sync. (He telling the truth because I did lots of research on what that is) Anyways I said yes. He said it's unfortunate because it's a common issue and Sony likes to be cheap on things. The owner politely asked for consent to continue fixing the issue for another for another 2 weeks or I end it there and take it home. We both agreed to continue. Now finally, my PS5 works like brand new like I first bought it!! P.S. (Sit your PS5 horizontal and not vertical it will greatly reduce the overheating issue) These guys are a life savior. read more

I came here looking for some pokemon ds games that I didn't have. I saw that they only had diamond in but it was in good condition for $24. I also saw that they had kingdom hearts for gb and I wanted to try it and got it for $9 which was a lower price than the sticker it had since it was pretty dirty. They also had pokemon x but I don't have the more current model to play it on. The place was well organized and things were nicely labeled with prices so I didn't have to ask frequently. I usually see the younger guy who is knowledgeable and friendly. The place had no a/c inside so it was a bit stuffy the day I went. They take card and it's near Pizza Hut. read more

My grandsons Nintendo switch wasn't charging, called this place and the person that answered told me $69.95. I drove there, the arrogant kid behind the counter said it was $69.95, we need $20 deposit and it's most likely going to be $150!!!! AND, they need 7 days to look at it!!! I look at him like you nuts! First of all, most other places were honest and said around $100 on the phone these liars get you in the door with $69.95 and pull a bait/switch. I went to a place closer to me LA TECH REPAIRS in Walnut, they were upfront and honest and fixed it in 2 days, they texted you updates from start to finish and also their place is clean and they are humble people and it was $110, this place is nasty and dirty, their carpet is filthy.....that's what happens when you have kids running it.. read more

I when I first walked in I was excited because you don't see stores like these anymore. I was very disappointed couldn't find anyone there had too almost yell at the employee because he was in the back room. Looked like he was to busy to help his customers. We ask about a game and he just said what ever they had there was what they had. I don't think he knows to much about games. They take over a week to diagnose the issue with their repair even after telling them whats wrong with the console. I don't knoe whats going on back there but if it takes over a week just to DIAGNOSE the problem, theres an issue with the store. Also, the guy on the counter didn't seem to too happy to have customers. Not the best customer service. I will be taking my business somewhere else next time. read more

My husband recommended this business and I am very happy they were able to fix my wii game console. They were open during the heat wave and they were still friendly. The turn around was quick maybe because no one wants to go out in a over 100 degree weather outside. read more
