Matcha and lychee ice cream, 2 scoops
    Sydney J.

I stopped by wanting to get some dessert and sampled multiple ice cream flavors. The cardamom pistachio has real pistachio in it, the matcha is rich and so is the Thai tea, the lychee is good and really does taste like the fruit. I ultimately opted for a 2 scoop of lychee and matcha. They do have many pretty good ice cream flavors, so I recommend trying them out. Service isn't usually that fast though, so be prepared for that if you show up and there are other customers already.

They serve Mitchell's ice cream, and have a wide selection of flavors. It's a very hip little shop. - 4.0/5: Double Chocolate waffle with coffee, caramel drizzle, and graham crumble. The waffle itself has a muted flavor; it's mostly for texture to accompany the ice cream.

Was pleasantly surprised with Gadani's unique flavors. Some flavors that stood out were Ube, Matcha, Lychee, and Thai Tea (which I got). They had more classic flavors such as Vanilla, Mint, and Coffee too. I just got a single scoop but their egg waffle combo looked VERY enticing. The shop is on the smaller side but there are a couple seats by the window and additional seating out the store front. The girl who served us was super nice, it was Valentine's weekend and she was the only one handling the rush of all the orders. We had to wait due to the amount of customers but she was sweet and I didn't personally mind waiting. Would come again!

Hojicha ice cream, double chocolate egg waffle, Oreo crumb
    Tasha H.

Cute shop and very friendly service. The ice cream flavors are really fun and unique! I loved the hojicha. The egg waffle isn't the best - big air pockets and not a lot of chocolate flavor. But the price is reasonable and it's a tasty dessert!

This review is more for the egg waffles: I really liked their egg waffles! Super crispy, but I think they needed more batter...they weren't fluffy it felt more like a chip consistency? Other than that service was awesome and the ambience was cute and cozy.

Very good . I had the chocolate waffle with lychee ice cream. It was my first time trying lychee ice cream and I loved it

I had Gadani bookmarked for awhile and finally had a chance to try it on a recent Saturday night before closing. The hours on Yelp page are wrong, they close at 10 pm on Saturdays. Small little shop with a small seating area. They have a lot to choose from for desserts. They also sell a bunch of hand crafted items too. Street parking only The service was nice and don't forget the 10% off check in. The gelato melted quick but blueberry cheesecake was good.

churro waffle with ube ice cream
    Sharon H.

I ordered a churro waffle with ube ice cream and caramel and graham crumbs as my toppings. It was so good. The ube flavor was strong and creamy. I love that Gadani has unique flavors! The churro waffle was also a very subtle churro taste. It wasn't burnt and was the perfect soft-crunchy ratio. Service was good but there's only 1 worker so it takes a while to receive your order. Ambiance is cute and a good place to hang with friends.

such a heavenly combo with the hot & fresh egg waffle + the rich & creamy chocolate ice cream! solid spot for anyone with a sweet tooth

    Angela W.

Love the aesthetic here and the flavors of ice cream that they have - the ube was solid. It's a small store, and all the workers were very sweet. Two things: 1. I'm not sure the value was there for around $12 total (ice cream + egg waffle). The reason for this is 2. I don't think my egg waffle was completely cooked? The inside of each bubble was a little too mushy to seem right...It wasn't a total deal-breaker - the outside was crispy and overall it still had the chewy inside texture. The entire order comes in a cup, which makes it seem and look like a lot more than it actually is - it feels like you're paying more for the aesthetic than for the taste. Would I come again? Maybe to try their drinks. For their ice cream and egg waffles? Probably not.

Lovely hidden gem. Egg tart ice cream what a selection! No bathroom with limited seating. Other than that, delicious!

double chocolate waffle + hojicha ice cream
    Elaine C.

I was super excited to try out Gadani after looking at the reviews and photos on Yelp. The egg puff waffle had crunchy bits but was soft on the insides and even had mini spots of chocolate in it. The hojicha (dark roasted green tea) ice cream was so tasty and went really well with the chocolate waffle. My only complaint was that it melted too quickly! I asked for rose petals and graham cracker crumbs as toppings but only received the latter on my ice cream combo. The seating options are limited and not super comfortable; it's definitely more of an order to-go cafe. There was only one worker who seemed to be multitasking at everything, making it a bit of a wait (~10 minutes). However, I enjoyed my visit and will be back to try their other ice cream flavors and drinks. Note that they are closed on Mon/Tues and typically do not open until 4:30 pm the rest of the week.

What are the hours of business? My mom and sister went today and they were closed

    4:30-9:30 Wed-Fri and 2-9:30 Sat-Sun!

    They got that gf tho?

As of now, they don't have gluten-free options. They also have very scarce dairy-free options.

The food was always good, but the service was never particularly warm--polite, efficient, and impersonal, like a well-drilled operation. Today we took a twenty-minute ride with our six-week-old baby for one last visit before they close for good. We arrived before their advertised closing time, yet were coldly denied service. There was no one waiting behind us, but we were met with an inflexible, robotic "sorry, we're closed." No one was overtly rude, but the interaction felt rigid and mechanical, as if following procedure mattered more than acknowledging the people standing in front of them. It would not have taken much effort to accept one last order from a loyal couple with a newborn--especially since nobody else was waiting behind us. In the end, Standard Fare is closing exactly as it operated: precise, rigid, and lacking warmth. Hopefully the next business in this location will treat its customers with a bit more empathy.

The walkway to order your food is also stunning and, in the shade, so you don't have to worry about the sun hitting you. It's perfect for sitting down with family and friends to relax while you eat brunch. Not only that but the food was honestly amazing. Everything tasted fresh, high-quality, and homemade. The French Toast was perfectly fluffy and slightly crispy on the edges, the eggs were cooked exactly right, and the Chicken and Waffles were the perfect balance of crispy and flavorful. The brunch options were just as impressive; there was a great variety of food, generous portions, and it was beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the taste and the experience. I found myself looking around to see what other people ordered, and I had to stop myself from ordering more because of how good it all looked, but I did sneak in another Quesabirria into my order. I will most definitely be coming back to order more, and on an emptier stomach, so I can eat without stopping. The service here really stood out and made the whole experience even better. From the start, we were greeted with genuine smiles and were even generous enough to change our seating because the sun was hitting our faces. Our server, Arnold, was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. He checked in at just the right times, kept our drinks constantly refilled, and made sure everything came out exactly how we ordered it. They were also super knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and were patient when we had questions. It didn't feel rushed at all. They really let us enjoy our time, which is exactly what you want from a brunch spot. He even gave us a French toast for the unfortunate sitting, and it was the best French toast I've ever had. What makes this place truly amazing is that, for it only being opened for 3 years, it's truly impressive how much they have accomplished and will definitely be coming back to further support this family business. 10/10

We had waited about 20-30 mins for a table of 2. We went back inside and there were some tables inside that were wrapping up their meal, but we were called and were given a table outside. My husband asked if we could wait for a table inside and the server said the wait would've been too long. Mind you it was raining, even if there is a covered awning, it was rather cold. About 2 mins later, after we were sat at our table, another group who was not waiting as long as we had, was told they'd be seated inside, just to give them a minute to clean the table. My husband wasn't happy. It is what it is, the place is small and they were just trying to do their best to accommodate the waitlist. Aside from that, service was great. Very nice servers. Food was quick to come to the table and it was piping hot. From where my husband was sitting he could see the owner (he verified it from a server) working hard in the kitchen! Food is worth the price. I wouldn't say it's outrageous pricing, as it's what you would find at other similar restaurants. If you compare this restaurant to Kitchen Story, I believe it out ranks. I had the spicy chicken Benedict, and the only complaint I have is there were too many green onions. That was my fault because I should have asked for it without. I love that you could get breakfast potatoes or tater tots. I obviously got the tater tots, which I did not regret! So crisp and delish! I also ordered the croffle! Never let anyone tell you ice cream isn't for breakfast because this place proves them wrong. Ugh, delish! I didn't eat any of the fruit but my husband said it was really fresh. My husband ordered the Sunday Scrambler and finished the entire plate before I had even finished half of my plate. Pretty sure he liked it, lol. Their coffee was perfect and super hot! The way it should be served. I saw a bunch of different drinks being served, which I look forward to trying over time. Bathroom, clean and didn't smell bad. I highly suggest this place if you're in the area.
