Matcha French Toast Combo - 4/5, pretty good matcha topping and white chocolate drizzle. Comes with 3 toasts and some bananas. Bulgogi Omelette - 3/5, bulgogi had some flavor but I think it could be better. The tater tots were definitely the best thing there! I was sad to see that the tater tots themself weren't on the menu anymore Didn't try the chicken and waffles or the fried chicken, but next time!
It's a really nice brunch spot in a cool neighborhood. The yuza tea was pretty good, and it stayed hot the entire time. The spicy loco moco is good, the sauce actually quite spicy. The bulgolgi was a bit on the sweet side, but it's interesting seeing these fusion flavors coming together. However nothing stood out enough to fully warrant the high prices. Service was good, the staff were friendly, and good as served very fast. Though it felt like we were waiting a little long to get our orders in. The signs in the restroom were hilarious. The wait was about 10 minutes, faster than the forecast.
Quaint little spot in Oakland downtown. You arrive and add yourself to the wait list via tablet near the hostess/cashier area. We were seated fairly quickly for a Saturday at 11am. The place is small and has tables inside and some more like a patio area overlooking the street. Street parking is available but can be tricky. The staff was always greeting everyone and nice. They have a QR code menu and delicious breakfast items from eggs to french toast to bacon. Coffee was good and my french toast even better. Portions were hefty and we left happy and stuffed with a great start to our day. I loved the hot sauce section that had many options. I am all about the hot sauce. Check it out.
Spicy Loco Moco is my go to meal at The Sunday. I suggest going with someone and sharing two meals so that you can taste more. The Bulgogi Benedict and Chicken&Waffles are a popular choice at our table. I love the Garlic Soy Wings to share (or for yourself, don't know if you can get a side or waffle, because that would be BOMB!) This is our go to breakfast spot when we want to go out. One thing that I wish they had is a light beer. Some Terra or OB would be so nice for brunch (I could get down with some Someak).

The omelets were fluffy and delicious with perfectly crispy tots, and the waffle was definitely a standout, loaded with fresh fruit, ice cream, and delicious ube. Generous portions, great flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere. Sunday is exactly the kind of locally owned neighborhood restaurant we should all support. We'll definitely be back!
The Sunday is an Emeryville gem for Korean-American fusion brunch! We loved the Bulgogi Benedict, Truffle Omelette, and Loco Moco--each dish was flavorful, unique, and beautifully presented. The mimosas, teas, and soju flight were the perfect addition to brunch. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly, and there are plenty of sweet and savory options to choose from. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Girlfriends decided to brunch and we did it at The Sunday on a Friday at 11a. With separate dietary needs, we were each able to find something on the menu to satisfy our palettes. The Sunday was busy and packed, we were first on the waiting list. The first available table for us was inside. Tables are spacious, made of wood, identical to the bench seating. The service was friendly, patient, attentive and thorough - reciting each order back to us to ensure accuracy. We were even asked if we had food allergies they should be aware of - incredibly thoughtful. Our coffee ($4) and hibiscus tea were refilled without ask, the wait for food was minimal. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes ($15) with a side of eggs. Classic 2 Eggs ($18) comes with two eggs your way, English muffin or sour dough toast with home fries, rice or tater tots. We each really enjoyed our meals and conversation. Would we return, most certainly. Parking can be a pain depending on the time. It is street parking on a fairly frequented street. The entrance is directly off the street and the eatery can be easily missed.

We had waited about 20-30 mins for a table of 2. We went back inside and there were some tables inside that were wrapping up their meal, but we were called and were given a table outside. My husband asked if we could wait for a table inside and the server said the wait would've been too long. Mind you it was raining, even if there is a covered awning, it was rather cold. About 2 mins later, after we were sat at our table, another group who was not waiting as long as we had, was told they'd be seated inside, just to give them a minute to clean the table. My husband wasn't happy. It is what it is, the place is small and they were just trying to do their best to accommodate the waitlist. Aside from that, service was great. Very nice servers. Food was quick to come to the table and it was piping hot. From where my husband was sitting he could see the owner (he verified it from a server) working hard in the kitchen! Food is worth the price. I wouldn't say it's outrageous pricing, as it's what you would find at other similar restaurants. If you compare this restaurant to Kitchen Story, I believe it out ranks. I had the spicy chicken Benedict, and the only complaint I have is there were too many green onions. That was my fault because I should have asked for it without. I love that you could get breakfast potatoes or tater tots. I obviously got the tater tots, which I did not regret! So crisp and delish! I also ordered the croffle! Never let anyone tell you ice cream isn't for breakfast because this place proves them wrong. Ugh, delish! I didn't eat any of the fruit but my husband said it was really fresh. My husband ordered the Sunday Scrambler and finished the entire plate before I had even finished half of my plate. Pretty sure he liked it, lol. Their coffee was perfect and super hot! The way it should be served. I saw a bunch of different drinks being served, which I look forward to trying over time. Bathroom, clean and didn't smell bad. I highly suggest this place if you're in the area.
Wow wow wow I think we found our spot. The Sunday is a small, stylish Korean fusion brunch spot with a heavy emphasis on flavor. The home fries are extremely delicious and that's all you really need to know. I got the Sunday omelette which was unique and delicious, packed full of shrimp and veggies. My wife got the friend chicken benedict. The chicken was exceptionally seasoned and was juicy through and through. We shared the lemon ricotta pancakes which were light and flavor full. Service was very friendly and helpful. Apparently we got lucky with a relatively slow Sunday brunch rush and got seated right away. Otherwise they have an in-person wait-list. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!
Came in for Sunday Brunch. I immediately started with the earl gray tea. I liked how the tea came with an infused lemon but it added too much sweetness for me as I like my tea with no sweetener. I ordered The Sunday Omelette Special and it was so good that I went home and took a nap. It put me in a coma. The truffle flavor didn't overpower the dish and all the veggies and protein were seasoned just right. My bf ordered the bulgolgi Benedict. The beef was tender and paired well with the Chipotle sauce. Service was nice. Since the place is kind of small, you can hear everyone's conversations, which makes it hard to talk with the person in front of you. We'll be back, but will note that it will make us pass out.

We got there at opening so we were sat right away, but later on there was a bit of wait for new guests. The indoors is small, but super cozy, clean and cute. And all of the service was great. I even got a topped off coffee cup to go after we were done. The food was Asian Fusion style and did not disappoint one bit! Every plate looked amazing and was delicious. We had chicken and waffles, chicken and croffles (a waffled croissant) - which was one of my favorite options, a spicy loco moco which was flavorful, spicy, and delicious, French toast, bulgogi Benedict which was another favorite, and a build your own omelette. Our crew has some picky eaters and when I say everything was gone...I mean we literally returned empty plates. It was that good! So brunch it up at The Sunday!
I was visiting from out of town and someone recommended this brunch spot, so my boyfriend and I decided to try it, and we are really glad we did. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service kept up well with the brunch crowd. I ordered the fried French toast combo with turkey bacon and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were not my favorite part of the plate, but the fried French toast was incredible. It was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and full of flavor. It easily made the dish worth ordering. The turkey bacon was cooked nicely as well. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles and could not stop talking about how good it was. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned, and the waffle paired with it perfectly. Overall, the portions were great, the energy was good, and it is a brunch spot I would absolutely recommend. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town.
So good. You can sit out or inside. I had the Sunday omelet with tots. This omelet came with onions, tomatoes, baby shrimp, and bacon. The side of truffle aioli dipping sauce was definitely an award-winning sauce. I would recommend dipping your tater tots in there. For my birthday, we got the Croffle on the house. Fresh fruit, whipped cream and a waffle made from croissant batter. I really wish I could have taken some of the truffle aioli home. My wife had the Sunday scramble, which was also a hit. Delicious! Nice menu even for vegans and vegetarians! I don't eat dairy so i got the soyrizo and home fries which are like fried potatoes. They have a wall of hot sauce but only like 1 option of Tobasco and no tapatio, Louisiana, or Crystal! Insane. No hard liquor but mimosas and soju and this black raspberry wine hella good. If you don't like Malbec or tart cabs you may not like it although i felt it was a little sweet too. You get a whole little cute bottle. They're booked and busy, get there early! Servers are great too. Attentive & not off putting. read more

Cute little cafe. Went on a Thursday morning and got a seat easily. Food was yummy! We had a spicy loco mocco and the truffle omelette. Both were delicious! Tried some of the hot sauces on the rack and were pleasantly surprised by the kick. Will definitely be back. read more
Tasty joint in the middle of a block of apartments. Fried chicken and loco moco were top, slightly salty on the gravy. Lemon ricotta pancakes were ok. Needed a lil dollop of whipped cream. Presentation was beautiful. Waitress gave suggestions. 4% surcharge for using credit card. Small place, only about 3 tables inside and 3-4 outside seating. read more
Been here twice for brunch. The loco moco is a great savory dish-ample gravy to rice/patty ratio. The little extras like the thin cuts of spam and furikake add nice texture touches as well. The croffle dough was delicious with its buttery notes. The chicken was perfectly fried as well. The custard like sauce was lightly sweet. Accompanying fruit was a bit minimal. The lemon ricotta pancakes were a bit lacking-would pass on these next time. Overall, the food is pretty solid-but portions are on the smaller side so you'll be content (probably no leftovers though). Seating area is pretty small-only a few small tables inside and 5 small tables outside in their patio. They do charge 4% extra for credit card as a FYI. read more

The Sunday is an absolute must-visit brunch spot in Emeryville that serves up some of the best breakfast comfort food around. We enjoyed every single dish we had! (YES, we were so hungry, lol) Their omelette is to absolute soft, fluffy perfection and packed with fresh flavors (love the bulgogi and truffle!), while the french toast features thick, golden-brown slices that are delightfully crisp on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside. The true star of the show, however, is the chicken and croffle, which pairs incredibly juicy, ultra-crispy fried chicken with a light, airy waffle for the ultimate sweet and savory balance. Combining fantastic food with a warm, lively atmosphere and fast, friendly service, it delivers a top-tier dining experience that will definitely have you coming back next trip! read more
Stopped by The Sunday for a quick, last minute brunch and it was a pretty good meal. Luckily the restaurant wasn't super crowded and we were able to get seated right away. The restaurant is located on a quiet street, and it's quite cozy, with some seating indoors and outdoors. I will say the restaurant is small and seating can feel a bit cramped/tight, especially the 2 person tables. This was my 2nd time visiting and customer service was friendly and adequate. We had to flag down servers for extra napkins and etc., but they were prompt. Once you sit down, a server will provide a QR code that you can scan to view the menu. They will then stop by to ask if you want to order any drinks and take your actual order. My mom opted for the veggie eggs benedict with home fries. I ordered the chicken with croffle dish. Both dishes came out fairly quickly and I thought the presentation of the chicken & croffle dish was nice. The croffle was a good balance of crispy and soft, and they included both a maple syrup & spicy maple syrup on the side. The chicken was pretty tasty, it had some sort of breaded seasoning and seemed to be a good pairing with the croffle. I enjoyed my dish and nearly cleaned my plate, which was great. The veggie eggs benedict was good too, but my mom said it lacked salt and was thinking some avocado would've helped elevate the dish. We flagged down a server to request salt & pepper, & that helped. The home fries were tasty and crispy, and had a slight spicy kick. But I think ordering the tater tots would've been better. The cost for both dishes was just under $50, so I thought the pricing was a little high, but it was a filling meal with good size portions. Possibly worth visiting if you're in the nearby area and craving a cozy, flavorful brunch experience. read more
We came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had a 25 minute wait to be seated. As a party of 5 each of us tried a different dish. Everyone was content with what they ate and enjoyed their meal. The restaurant is a small space with indoor and outdoor seating. Inside there is room for about 12-15 people to sit at one time. Outside is about the same. The service was prompt and attentive, our server made recommendations regarding the menu! There were a lot of people coming and going on the day we were there. Cozy small spot greeted by a wall of hot sauces (go try them all!). Love love love the tater tots, can't go wrong with that. I think the omelette was standard. I realized the more I ate, the sweetness of every dish started stacking... from the bulgogi sauce to the sauce from the omelette and the sauces from the fried chicken dish - too sweet for me. Great brunch food! The Korean fusion/spin along with brunch favorites was a hit with us. We aere also pleasantly surprised to enjoy a Jeju island orange soda, too. I got the chicken and waffle, a side of bacon and orange juice. We also had the bulgogi Benedict. All the food was tasty and delicious. The service was very attentive also. The staff made sure we had all of our needs taken care of. It's a small brunch restaurant, I'd say they can seat about 20-30 patrons at any given time. We'll be back! read more

Was looking for a new (to me) brunch place in the Bay Area to go to with my friend and this place caught my eye with their Korean fusion offerings. It did not disappoint! Since I read reviews, I knew to join the waitlist prior to getting there. Once we found street parking, we only waited 5-10mins once we arrived. Highly recommend joining the waitlist because the place is small and seating is limited. Just google "the sunday waitlist" The wait was around 1 hour once we got our food. We ordered the bulgogi omelette, shrimp tempura omelette, and croffle. You can choose a side of house fries, tater tots, or rice and sourdough or english muffin. The tater tots were cooked to perfection. The omelettes were very delicious. And the croffle was a perfect balance of sweet and salty (they put an interesting brown shredded cheese topping). The service was great! Waiter was friendly and when they brought out our food they informed us of everything that was on the plate. The plates and presentation of food was beautiful as well. Such a cute brunch spot! The service was outstanding, our server was so friendly and welcoming, and we even had the chance to meet the owner and his wife, who are such a wonderful couple. The food was incredible! The waffle had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The Benedict was a standout, that hollandaise with a Korean twist was absolute perfection. The house potatoes were crisp and delicious, the perfect side. Overall, our experience here was amazing, and we can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. We came here on a Sunday for brunch. Pro tip: put your name on the waitlist while you are on your way since mornings can get pretty busy. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. We added our names to the waitlist ahead of time and by the time we arrived and found parking, our wait was only about 15 minutes. We had already decided on our order and went with the Loco Moco and the Bulgogi Benedict. The food came out quickly and I loved that they have such a big hot sauce selection. The loco moco had a generous amount of gravy, though the patty felt a little small compared to the amount of rice. The bulgogi was flavorful and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and the staff gave us great recommendations. Parking was decent with street options available. Overall, the food was good and we would definitely come back if we are in the area! read more
This place rocks. We came for brunch on Saturday. I arrived at 1145 and weee seated by 1215 for our table of 6. The wait wasn't too bad and we got to catch up. This is definitely a must try spot for brunch! I can not wait to come back! The food is so tasty, our service was quick and the staff was so attentive. The only thing I will note is that it is very tight inside if you can get a seat outside it would be better as you would have more space. There was a wait so plan ahead to join the waitlist. Came here on a Friday morning and there was a crowd but we did not have to wait for seating. I will have to say this is not a very kid friendly place since they do not have high chairs for littler ones. They did have a booster seat but that wouldn't help much with a baby that needs extra support. There were two families with babies including ourselves and the other parent had to sit with his baby on his lap while eating. If you're a parent you know the struggle of trying to enjoy a meal with a baby in your lap. I kind of understand the no high chairs since the indoor area is really small but also if you can fit a chair you can fit a high chair. Even just one or two would make a difference. Really not a family friendly choice but maybe their main demographic isn't families. Service was good, our waiter was friendly and prompt and the manager checked in on our table. We got our food fairly quickly which was appreciated since our baby was getting really fussy. I ordered the regular loco moco and my partner ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. The loco moco was flavorful and I liked the gravy. The eggs were cooked nicely but I wish the spam was crispier or maybe a more consistent texture since some were floppy and some were crispy. I also think the meat patty should be bigger given the amount of rice that is given. The lemon ricotta pancakes were just okay imo. What I really didn't like was that the fruit was not fresh at all. It looked like it had been cut wayyyyyy in advance and was mushy and looked unappetizing. Overall this place is fine and good for adults with no kids. I was in the Berkeley area looking for an Asian-fusion brunch spot. My go-to is usually Berkeley Social Club, but their wait time was too long. I must've gotten lucky with The Sunday because I was seated within 3 minutes of showing up on a Saturday at noon! Their service is hyper-efficient and we got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Presentation was also beautiful! I had their chicken & croffle and stuffed french toast and it was so so delicious! The chicken and croffle came with a spicy maple syrup that was the perfect combo of sweet, savory, and spicy! The stuffed french toast was the star of show; it was deep fried, making it crunchy, and stuffed with sweet mascarpone. No we don’t have a private parking lot but our street parking is very easy and there are plenty of spaces around our building.
