Have been back 4 times within a month! Great fast service and really cute bathrooms lol

A fiest!

Never a dull moment here. Came after hanging out Friday night and got my regulars. I almost got the soupless ramen but my mind and tastebuds were set! I'll try it next time . As always, the ambiance was nice and tidy inside. Can't wait to return!

FADDA"S DAY! Lulu's plan have me visit & to get bbq for me/us from the newesh A&M bbq joint in Sebastapol went down in flames with the return of her raspy sore throat...shoot! So what to do? AHA! Go out with My Old Flame G, but she too is sicko...got a snotty nose and a coul...So I suggested to get pho at PhoSho Dough (closed) then Ou Sen (closed too!) now what? hmmm? How bout not pho & opted for for ramen to get some broth into G.. OK then invited Molly & Suzanne We got there at 5:30 waited 30 minutes and ordered (see below) All the statrers were great especially the fried chicken karaage & shishito The only comment that rated a 4 rather than 5 for the meal was finding the chicken in the broth ( & the broth itself) a bit boring & undersalted (The savory leg/thigh piece, though, on the side was terrific). Next time I'll go for pork Our server Karyl suggested for me a great sake Ohime "3 Grain". Thanks K! She also let me offer my soft boiled brown speckeled turkey egg that Yuko gifted me to see if the the cooks could add to my ramen YES! thanks again K!! It was noisy bustling crowd given all the celebrating pops around... had a great time!

Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner and got seated right away. Small restaurant with inside seating only. Tried their yuzu sake drink, which is delicious and beautiful to look at. Literally tasted like juice - highly recommend! Also got the usual Hakata Tonkotsu DX, which is their signature ramen. Pork is melt in your mouth delicious and broth is flavorful. We also got pork gyoza to share, which tasted good. Service is extremely quick. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are adequate. If you're craving ramen in the area, I'd recommend giving Marufuku a try!

Got here around 9:30pm as a dinner for our roadtrip. Parking thankfully was easy at night and was surprised to see the restaurant was still almost full that late on a Wednesday night. There was no waitlist so we got seated right away. The place had a lot of seats and tables and has a bar. The food was delicious as always! Noodles were perfectly thin and chewy. Broth was rich and savory! The only mishap was when they put down our food, my bowl got switched with my friend's and we both had taken a sip of the broth before realizing. They offered to remake but since they were closing soon and we needed to be on our merry we ended up just switching our bowls. I'd come back again of course!

All time favorite place. It's always packed with repeat customers. Our all time favorite place is chicken paitan and tantanmen. I do like veg ramen too. It's a perfect place to go before pub / club hopping or on a rainy or cold night. Parking is a challenge but you can find a spot on a parallel street.

What a great bowl of Tonkotsu ramen! My cousin brought me here as a regular and for my first time, I loved it! The broth had a delicious hint of ginger and the noodles were perfect size, texture and portion. The flavors were savory and I'd say my favorite part was biting into the egg. Yum!

The food was pretty good! The broth was nice and not too salty, but the noodles were a little soggy and tasted rubbery. The waitress was very attentive and frequently checked on us. But, the wait for the food was pretty long because the person up front didn't call for us while there were open tables. Overall, I recommend!

If you enjoy Ramen.... this is the place for you. It's a wait for seating, but worth every minute. Service was warm and attentive. Special shoutout... to the guy handling the wait list at the door. What an engaging sweetheart. He handled the list, waiting people well..a smiling personality and very helpful... thank you . Food was exceptional... I had pork belly ramen which had great flavor. They also had chicken and beef based ramens. Also noteworthy the meat was fresh (taste the difference). Appetizers had gyoza... (nothing special)...and octopus (Amazing delicacy... I'm talking exceptional food). Flashing lychee drink Very good food...a nice treat. Thank you everyone S

This place will never ever fail me. Even with the price increases, the quality is there. If you want authentic Ramen, please visit any and all Marufuku locations. They will never let you down.

I was craving ramen on a Friday night and decided to order takeout from Marufuku Ramen. I've been to other locations before, but this is my first time trying the Oakland spot and also ordering takeout from them. I can't speak to the location or ambiance, but this was a local rec provided to me so I had high expectations! The delivery only took about 15 minutes or so to arrive so it wasn't a long wait at all. I decided to order the hakata tonkotsu - it was delicious! The milky pork broth with the ichimi togarashi was both rich, delicate and packed a spicy punch. It wasn't too heavy which was nice. I enjoyed the texture of the mushrooms, the freshness of the green onions, and the jammy egg. The ramen was the right amount and still had a chewy texture while not being soggy at all. The takoyaki was topped with a savory, creamy sauce along with the fresh bonito flakes. The only comment I have is that the filling ratio seemed to bury the pieces of octopus, so it was more doughy. The side salad came with a plum sauce that paired well with the fresh veggies. It was a good choice to order since it cut through the richness of the ramen and takoyaki. Overall, I'd love to dine in and explore more menu items!

The pork bun not bad

2/5 only because the kukuni bowl was an awful choice. Service was good though. Didnt use the restroom.

Hakata Tonkotsu DX

My bf brought me here since this place is known to have better ramen than my favorite ramen place in Valley Fair. So I had to come and try to compare. I did end up ordering the Hakata DX to try the meats. And it's good but maybe not to my taste buds. The soup was too salty for my taste buds and didn't have the deep pork flavor that I usually like. This doesn't mean it's not good, this just isn't what I like in my ramen. I wish I had gotten medium or xtra spicy as it tasted like the mild wasn't even there. This is a cute date spot though with nice ambiance with the bar area being dimly lit compared to the dining area. Our server was attentive, especially when my water glass came with lipstick. Had to get that replaced right away. Overall, not bad but not my first or second choice for ramen.

My friends and I decided to check out Noka Ramen after getting multiple recs!…read more It is an anime-themed restaurant with beautiful decor that's perfect for a mini photoshoot. The staff is very lively, attentive and energetic which I love! Here, the menu can be scanned via QR code so just a heads up in terms of accessibility. There is a full list of options from anime-themed alcoholic drinks, ramen, appetizers and even a Pikachu burger! I went for the spicy miso ramen, which has a rich broth with ground pork, mushrooms, and greens. If you have a high spice tolerance, the level is more mild and doable. The ground pork was delicious - it had a caramelized-like texture on the outside while still being both crispy and tender. The ramen itself was cooked perfectly and had a springy texture. The veggies, while soaked in the broth, were still delicate to bite into and not mushy at all. The broth itself felt nourishing and not too heavy. The egg tasted amazing because it took up the flavor of the ramen and was both salty and rich - only thing I'll say is if you prefer your yolk to be a bit more runny, this one is more on the well-done side but not dry. Overall, I loved my experience here and would love to come visit again!

It is a lot of fun if you or someone you know is a Pokémon lover. I have this theory that the most beautifully decorated restaurants have the most mediocre food; that stands true here. The ambience is great all but the food is average. The ramen noodles are a bit on the salty side. the Pikachu Wagyu burger was too greasy and did not taste that great. we ordered 2 pikachu burgers and the amount of meat on both burgers weren't identical (1 was way smaller than the other). service is only OK. Maybe our waitress is shy/antisocial?? I felt like she could've been more engaged & friendly rather than acting like I kicked her dog . we ordered 4 adult entrees and 1 kids meal. The adult entrees come out first and the kids meal came out 20+ minutes later. We asked the server about the whereabouts of his kids meal and no apology . We simply got a " yeah, it's being cooked". Meanwhile, all the adults are already done eating. They should serve the children before adults , or at worst, bring the kids food at the same time as the rest of the food. Parking is a nightmare, so we parked at the London Square parking lot and came out to $18. This is fun for a 1-time thing for pokemon lovers, but i wouldn't return .

This cute little ramen shop has such perfect lighting coming through thanks to thier skylight. We weren't actually hungry so we shared the following: TONKOTSU - $16.50 (Regular) Pork Belly Chashu, Bamboo Shoots, Red Onion, Wood Ear Mushrooms, Green Onion, Ajitama Egg. You get a choice of noodles to pick: 1.) Hakata - Thin Straight 2.) Sapporo - Medium Thick Wavy Figured since it's my first time here, I choose the most basic version of their bowl of ramen. I chose Sapparo and for some reason expected it to be thicker/wider, but regardless it was still good! The presentation of this bowl is just gorgeous, served on a small wooden platter. The red onion is chopped, and the pork Belly is quite tender. Regarding the egg, you get just half. Overall this bowl of ramen is creamy, rich, and the right amount of flavor and salt. But still make sure to drink at least a glass of water! CREAMY CHASHU PORK CROQUETTES - $8.50 I have never seen anything like this so I must give it a try! It actually didn't come out piping hot, so I was able to drive in right away! It was definitely creamy (like ramen) and had pieces of the Chau's pork, encased in a crispy and warm batter that was deep fried. It also comes with a katsu sauce and I really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and didn't make us feel bad for ordering enough of just one, but man I was so full. Had to walk around downtown Berkeley for awhile.

Not kidding when I say I've been ogling their Yelp photos for a few days prior to this visit. The broth is exceptional, but the noodles are pedestrian. Chewy sure but doesn't quite rival the bounciness of Mensho's mochi noodles. It's delicious all the same though. The prices are a bit high, given that bowls only come with one chashu slice and half an egg, but excusable given the dire state of our economy. Will I say this is the best ramen I've ever had? Probably not. But it's a very delicious bowl that'll satisfy any ramen hankering.

Well decorated cozy vibe. It is across the street from the Fox theater so it's super convenient if you're catching a show there later. I think this place is supposedly known for its Ramen hence it's name but today we weren't really feeling up for Ramen in particular. I ordered the bartenders specialty drink, and it was a butterfly pea cocktail with gin. It wasn't sweet, which is how I prefer it and the gin wasn't overpowering either. It was refreshing. My friend got the Katana mama tequila drink which she liked. It had a bit of li-hing "tajin" on the glass. We got the the chicken karage but I wasn't too fond of it to be honest. I guess it wasn't as crunchy as I'd like it to be. We were sold on the yaki and sloppy pork gyozas which were yummy; I liked the yaki version better surprisingly . My friend got the kimchi fried rice with chashu which was delicious but I think she wanted it a little spicier. I got the YONSEI DIY HANDROLL TRIO: * Negihama - yellowtail, green onions * Salmon, sesame, lemon * Spicy Tuna, tenpura crunch I actually really liked it! Fish was fresh (they're minced). I wasn't expecting to work to make my meal hahaha. I used a vinegar-like dip for it which gives it a nice zest (it came in this need little dropper bottle lol). Overall we had a reasonably good experience here. The only issues I'd just mention is that no one really checked on us once the food arrived and we had to flag someone down for the check. I didn't like the karage much but everything else was good and reasonably priced. It's a convenient spot that's opened on a Sunday. Maybe I'll try the ramen next time!
