Gadani's a great place to enjoy a filling dessert. My boyfriend and I came here during their 2pm-6pm Happy Hour deal, which I believe is ending 3/16/18 (but may come back, who knows!) Since there was a promotion to get the seasonal drink for $1.99 with any purchase, we went for it on a whim and chose the Butterfly Pea Passion Fruit Tea. The drink has a really pretty color gradient and is supposed to be mixed before drinking. At first I thought it was too sweet, but after some of the ice diluted I really liked it, and the tea flavor is just strong enough! As for the egg puff ice cream combo, I liked it but probably won't get it again anytime soon since it is a lot to finish. I'm more likely to come back to get a scoop or two of ice cream (the coffee ice cream was really good!) I got the double chocolate egg puff with coffee ice cream and rose petal toppings. After having dinner, we were looking for a nice dessert place and found ourselves at Gadani after looking at the great reviews and some interesting pictures! We had no idea about egg waffles but they seemed pretty interesting that we wanted to try it out! When you arrive at the store, you will find a self-ordering kiosk where you can order your ice cream combo which comprises of your choice of egg waffle, an ice cream flavor, and 2 toppings. An additional scoop of ice cream comes at extra cost. You could also order directly at the counter. We ordered at the kiosk and opted for an additional scoop of ice cream but when our order was ready, it had only one scoop and I was slightly disappointed because I was looking forward to trying two different ice cream flavors. They refunded the price of an extra scoop but I'd hope they paid more attention to the order since it wasn't something verbal that they would miss. The ice cream was great and we enjoyed it a lot! The staff here is friendly. The affogato isn't bad. This is clearly the kind of spot that people will throw on their Instagram stories. There isn't much seating inside, but it usually isn't too busy. Love the egg waffles here - they're crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and keep warm while enveloping your cold ice cream like a little blanket. I had thought that the waffle would be really soft, but it was to my surprise that it was really crunchy and each little "egg" of the waffle could easily be broken off as bite-sized pieces. Super yummy and an amazing dessert! This place is very Instagram-friendly and cute with limited seating - the service is standard and wait times aren't very long for our desserts. We managed to find a decent parking spot across from 85 Degrees so we stopped there first before walking over here. Beautiful crushed rose petal pieces, chocolate syrup and delicious walnut ice cream on a green tea egg puff 'cone', this shop is like no other I've experienced! I was on my way home from a Giants game and having not eaten all day, I stopped in here since I saw one of my friends post pictures on Facebook. The shot is small and cute, and the cashier was friendly and helpful. There is a nice selection of fun and interesting ice cream flavors, and I chose the egg puff combo (not sure if it's called that, but it basically ice cream in an egg puff that is positioned into a cone shape inside a cardboard sleeve, and it comes with two toppings. It was so pretty I wanted to hold off on eating it, but being hungry and not wanting the ice cream to melt, I took a bite, which was delicious. The rose petals give each bite a nice flavor and texture and the soft, flaky texture of the egg puff cone was satisfying as well. The only thing I wish could be improved was that the green tea flavor was very subtle in the egg puff. I love green tea flavor and that was a big reason I chose that flavor of egg puff, but I could taste it a little, plus with the elegant flavors of everything else, I didn't really care too much. The shop is located in Downtown Berkeley and it's a very nice and clean place with some seats outside the store. And the staff was friendly and offered me ice cream sampling. They have around 10 flavors of ice cream. I originally wanted to try the sesame ice cream but they didn't have that. I guess they don't have a fixed ice cream menu. The best thing about the ice cream combo is that you can choose any flavor waffle, a scoop of ice cream, and 2 toppings that you'd like. I made my ice cream combo a MATCHA combo with matcha waffle, matcha ice cream, matcha powder and red beans. The combination was great except that the red beans were undercooked so they were hard. This is why I gave them a 4-star instead of 5. Overall, the egg waffle with ice cream is worth a try. I will come back again for their chocolate waffle with chocolate ice cream.
