Cute shop has wifi. Ordered earl grey matcha einspanner and pumpkin bread. Same pre packed pumpkin bread as every other cafe. Earl grey matcha - yummy whip - matcha wasn't strong - earl grey was light 6.7/10
I have been searching for a place in my area where they serve Einspãnner Lattes, matcha or espresso. Ever since I went to Los Angeles and waited in that long ass line at Community Goods for a coffee; my first Einspãnner made with coffee, and I am hooked. That drink is so decadent, and leaves you wanting more. Caveat, I am not a coffee drinker but that brevè, cafe, and cremè cold drink is a simple piece of luxury. Back to Mind Coffee, I walked in and it was a very modern coffee shop to represent the modern drinks. I had an item from a secret menu. It was the earl grey matcha Einspãnner. The baristas favorite. I will say that it was tasty but it didn't have a decadent way about itself. Will I go back;; yes. Will I continue to make it a mission to find the best Einspãnner in the Bay Area; hell yes.
Kept seeing this spot on IG (influenced by Gabe Bondoc himself!) so we made a stop on our way back home. I appreciated that they had online ordering so I could just jump out of the car and pick up the drinks! The shop itself is very tiny inside so if you can't snag a table then you won't be able to hangout inside. The drinks felt a bit watery at first but once you mix in the cream it was a lot better. My banana pudding latte was rich and creamy after it was mixed together. I liked the cream on top of the whipped honey cream latte as well, and both drinks were so pretty!
The star of the lineup is definitely the Orange Blossom Latte or so I've heard, (it's their OG!) The coffee is light with a subtle hint of orange on the finish, so neither flavor overpowers the other. Instead, they complement each other really well, creating a balanced and delicious drink. As for the Whipped Honey Crème Latte, I didn't really taste much hojicha. It was mostly bitter and watered down, even though they just made it. Never had a Cortado before, but it was my first time trying it. It was verry bitter. That's all I have to say. I do have to say that the shop was a little hard to find. I was following Google Maps, but the hair salon next door blocks the storefront quite a bit, so I didn't really notice the sign.

Order ahead on Snackpass to skip the line. D R I N K S * Iced Whipped Honey Cream Hōjicha Latte w/ oat milk (Seasonal-$8.95) Rich, creamy, and roasty with a natural sweetness. The house whipped cream was thicc, fluffy, and cloud-like. Delicious esp with the bee pollen adding a subtle crunch. * Iced Mindspänner Matcha Latte ($7.50) Hand-whisked to order, the matcha was vibrant and smooth with an earthy umami. Not watered down. The fluffy whipped cream softened the earthiness and added a light sweetness. * Iced Mindspänner Latte ($7.50) - Add extra shot of espresso (+$1) Not mine but I had a sip, bold and creamy...affogato without the ice cream. S E R V I C E Warm, upbeat, and gracious staff...positive vibes all around. The ladies were so sweet and brought a cup of water for the pups as were were ordering. They also pointed out that the dog featured on the storefront and cups is actually the owner's dog, which made the place feel even more personal and charming. Drinks were ready in about 5 minutes (no line at the time). A M B I A N C E Gorgeous minimalist zen space centered around mindfulness, there's floor and table seating, and two tables outside. Inside seating is hard to come by tho since students laptop camp. Restroom available. Overall, we really enjoyed our lattes and the genuine service was just the cherry on top. Gen Z stare where?
Saw this place on TikTok the other day and randomly remembered while driving thru Oakland so I stopped by and I'm definitely glad I did. I wanted a strawberry matcha, but they don't sell that here. Instead the barista offered to make their spring 2026 special (iced sakura matcha midspanner latte) if I could wait a couple minutes, so I did and it was definitely worth the wait. The honey at the bottom really complimented the rest of the matcha and the matcha taste wasn't too strong either. It was the perfect blend of sweet and matcha. Definitely one of the better matchas I've had around the bay
All the drinks we got were superb! I was really impressed by the orange blossom latte and it stood out. The Ferrero Rocher latte tasted like the chocolate and the sakura matcha was smooth. Presentation of the drinks and the restaurant were beyond exceptional. Came here on an early Saturday morning and I can see this place getting busy on a school day.
The drinks here are quite pricey. I got the banana crème matcha latte, and it was yummy! It tastes just like every other banana matcha latte, so nothing really stood out to me. The store itself is very cozy and cute.

It was an unexpectedly warm day, so I stopped in for an iced caffeinated beverage. I was indecisive when it was my turn to order, so the barista recommended the orange blossom matcha sparkler. This sounded intriguing and refreshing, so I decided to give it a try. My beverage was prepared about two minutes after I ordered it, and I was immediately refreshed after the first sip. The orange blossom flavoring was very subtle and provided just the right amount of sweetness and floral essence to counter the matcha's bitterness. The fizziness made this a perfect drink for a hot day. I've tried Mind Coffee's espresso on a prior visit, and I can now say they succeed in both the coffee and matcha categories.
Mind Coffee's drinks are good and I love how aesthetic the inside of their store is. I've gotten their vanilla lattes, this is totally a coffee shop you could work out of. The service is also good. It's just a little pricy
I was absolutely stunned when I first walked in. Mind Coffee feels like you're immersing in an art gallery, apple store, forest, and a craft shop all at once. We ordered an Americano, the Earl Gray Matcha Einspanner Latte, and the Sakura Matcha Mindspanner Latte. The presentation was gorgeous, from the cups to the cream. The Sakura Matcha Mindspanner was definitely my favorite all around. The hint of sakura combined with the bold matcha was a very fun flavor experience. I think sadly, in the Earl Gray Matcha Einspanner, the matcha overpowered the earl gray. The flavor was there, but it was extremely subtle (don't get me wrong, I'd definitely get it again). Also, their espresso is unmatched. It really reminded me what a good espresso shot should taste like. The staff here were super friendly right off the bath. Even though there is an ordering kiosk available, they still went out of their way to greet us and let us know that they are there to also take orders and answer questions. I was also a bit bummed that they were sold out of their Orange Blossom Latte. I feel like it would taste like an orange creamsicle. They were very reassuring that it's a regular menu item and that I can hopefully get my hands on one before it sells out for the day next time! I can't wait to see what they come out with next!

It is a cute little spot, and I really liked the whimsical ceiling design with its flowing, wave-like curves that give the space a calm and uplifting vibe. Ordering is done through a kiosk, which was easy to use, and the drinks came out quickly. We tried the matcha latte and the Earl Grey matcha eispanner, and both were great There is a mix of normal table seating and low, bean bag style seats for a more relaxed vibe. The staff were friendly and checked in to see if we needed help while using the kiosk. They serve both coffee and matcha drinks, and it is a great place to stop by if you are near UC Berkeley.

They offer non-dairy options and pastries from the local starter bakery, which is a nice touch. The space has a minimalist feel with floor seating and a few tables. The Earl Grey Matcha had the green matcha color but leaned more toward the Earl Grey flavor, still very good. The white cream was fresh, light, and delicious. Presentation was on point (you can see in my photos). Even though it was busy and the wait was about ten minutes, they clearly took their time to make sure everything looked great. Definitely worth checking out.
I wish i lived closer because this would be my go to coffee shop! I stopped by around 10:30am on a Saturday morning and there was ample street parking. There were only a couple of tables occupied (there are 2-3 normal tables with chairs and a couple of floor cushion seats). I can definitely see that during the weekday, it would be packed with college students and parking would also be hard to come by. I ordered the Iced Whipped Honey Cream Latte (with Oat Milk) online. The drink was ready in less than 4 minutes. If you enjoy coffee on the sweeter side with flavored cream tops, this coffee shop is for you. The Honey Cream was sooooo good and perfect amount of cream vs at some other coffee shops there is a very thin layer. Whenever I am in the area, I will be stopping by. read more

Lowkey it's really freaking small I do feel very petite and skinty tho so maybe that's a part of their branding??? All of their drinks are about as big as your fist... I got the Orange Blossom Matcha Latte. It was kind of watered down and for eight dollars and the smallest cup I've ever seen I would hope I get a full cup and no watered down matcha. My friends got the Hot Matcha Latte & Ferrero Rocher Coffee. The Hot Matcha Latte was just underwhelming though I think the value is better. The Ferrero Rocher was just really sweet coffee. Imagine this.... You wake up at 8:00 which is a rarity and you climb up a hill to get to Mind. What you need is a drink made from the beautiful hills of Kyoto, beautifully blended with a Ferrero Rocher made in the quaint Italian cityscape, and creating a beautiful harmony of flavors that enlighten us. Safe to say none of that happened and now I'm mourning my 8 crisp, digital dollars... Also my tongue is coated in matcha powder and sugar help... Service is fine! In any case, just come to this place to study or for pictures lol. The aesthetics are definitely there, and that's definitely what they're selling. read more
My partner and I came here as we were walking around the area, and it looked cute. The space itself is very minimalist chic with some seating (on both the floor on cushions and some chairs and tables). They have a pretty solid menu of coffee and tea options. The staff were kind and welcoming and we didn't have to wait long to order. We both got matcha lattes and they were very good. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in the Berkeley area. read more

Earl Grey Matcha Einspanner -- delicious creamy earl grey flavor mixed with matcha. Matcha and earl grey do not over power each other. The einspanner was nice, fluffy and made the drink more enjoyable. Matcha was not watered down, it was the right amount of matcha flavor and thickness! Iced Mindspanner Hojicha -- delicious roasted flavor. Einspanner adds so much creaminess and thickness to the drink. The hojicha did not taste clumpy, it was delicious! Drinks were quick to order, about 15 minutes or less. There are two options to order, through the cashier or the kiosk. Although they have an online menu, it's not as accurate it's better to order in person. read more

This matcha was really good!!! It was not very sweet but the cold foam was a really good whipped cream (it tasted homemade). The place shared an entrance with a hair salon which was confusing at first. its the one on the right. I liked how the seating was on the floor and even though this is a small space, it doesnt seem like it. read more

Super cute cafe! I love that they hand whisk their matcha drinks fresh. I love a creamy drink so i'd definitely try the einspanner! I also loved their orange cardamom coffee. I usually don't love citrus in coffee, but this was so good! One star is lost because i hate the seating. It is really not comfortable and you just can't wear a dress or a skirt. read more

This is such a cute little cafe my friend recommended. We ordered a hojicha latte and a hojicha einspanner. The server was very nice in giving us recommendations for us first timers. The sweetness levels for both were well done and the creaminess on top was really good. I thought the einspanner was a different experience generally as we typically just order traditional lattes, but the flavor was still really good. Didn't blow us away, but we'd be curious to try the seasonal ones next time and their traditional matcha latte. read more

I ended up stopping by this spot before our hike and while they have a lot of unique beverages, they also seemed out of quite a lot of items on the menu. I ended up getting an orange blossom matcha and smores campfire hojicha (they also offer this with espresso), and both were phenomenal. I loved the light sweetness of the matcha and the smokey taste of the hojicha. read more

this place is a hidden gem! came after a night shift craving a matcha and this was nearby. i was surprised at how packed it was with students studying around opening time! it can def get busy and crowded. the drink was super delicious and i enjoyed the blend of the earl grey and matcha together. drinks are on the pricier side for the sizes, but the quality is superb. read more
This place is delicious it has a variety of drinks seasonal and regular. My favorite is the cherry blossom matcha or Sakura that has cherry blossom powder and home made whipped cream. The vibe and aesthetic here are chill and futuristic, the kid of place you want to listen to lofi and get work done or chat w friends on their cushions that are on the floor. Trendy restroom with nightclub lights but none of that matters compared to the drinks. 10/10 read more

Super refreshing and light! But wow I was shocked when they called my name and I saw how tiny the drink was compared to the last time I was here. Quite disappointed to see the change. Mind Coffee opened 2 years ago, replacing an hair salon. Next door is an hair salon. Interior retrofitted to a modernistic style with many seat stations. One table outside. The hair salon roots can be inferred from the narrow width. Metered parking all around. Iffy parking on weekdays. Soft piano music in background. Came looking to try an Einspanner. Was referred to an espresso. Must be reading my mind. The lattes wouldn't have satisfied. Ordered. Pd, ready in 5 minutes. # called. # also displayed on monitor near pick up station. Einspanner originated in Vienna, Austria in the 19th Century. Named after a one horse carriage whose owners occupants drank while traveling. -the heavy whipped cream prevented the hot coffee from spilling and keeping it warm. *German is the official language of Austria. Offerings: summer concept drinks, coffee, latte, matcha, teas, Einspanner drinks, food, pastries, arteao tea. Sips: Einspanner espresso (6.75) -came in an oversized, semi-tall, thick shot glass with 2 shots espresso, nearly overflowing with Heavy house made whipping cream. -stirred everything together. Summer Concept Drinks were sooooo creatively made and presented. Im still in awe. Not a coffee drinker so my rating for those are unfair, but I really liked the matcha drinks, specifically the Peach Matcha Frizz with Yuzu Cold Foam. I haven't really enjoyed matcha with carbonated variations until I tried this drink. The double strawberry matcha was super creamy and the strawberry foam didn't taste artificial at all. Tasted like real strawberries! My favorite drink of all had to be the hojicha with house cream. GET THAT. Pastries were all okay. Coffee was potent and fragrant. Made me wish I liked the taste of coffee. The interior is quaint but sleek. Service was superb and I really liked the window seat. Overall, would def return when I'm in Berkeley again :) read more

Definitely always keeping this place in mind whenever I visit the area... I've came here a couple of times with friends and each time we were able to find a table inside or outside and loved the drinks I got!Seems like a spot people study at so it's moderately quiet inside. Outside there's only two benches and a table. A bathroom is available as well. There's both the register and self order kiosk to get your drinks. Yummy pastries are also available for a little snack. I think I got the chocolate babka last time? I can't recall but remember that whatever I got was scrumptious and I drank my drink uppppp... Great amount of options for drinks like your standard vanilla latte to the Einspanners (Matcha, Hojicha, Coffee / regular) with the dollop of sweet cream. Their Einspanner is a lot more on the matcha heavy side, but gets really nice & creamy when mixed in with the whipped milk. Best way to describe it is a relatively bold umami flavor that blends well with the sweet milk cream. Would love to come back and try more of their drinks! Also saw they expanded and had savory options for food now #win read more
I got an espresso. The shot had good layers, a smooth texture and bright flavors. I tasted fruity and floral notes with a citrusy finish. The shot was quite acidic but it didn't overwhelm the shot. Very well executed. 5/5 Would definitely come back for espresso. read more
Wow, this place is always bustling. I recently got to visit Mind on a Saturday morning, and I was really satisfied with my visit. I ordered a flat white with whole milk, which was absolutely perfection. I don't like too much milk in my espresso drinks, so this was the perfect ratio for me. My boyfriend got the seasonal strawberry matcha einspanner with oat milk, which seems to be a drink many cafes are doing a take on. The strawberry flavor was strong--definitely a blended strawberry puree at the bottom. However, I felt that the strawberry flavor overpowered the matcha and simply felt like I was drinking strawberry milk. Not sure it was worth $9. I think Mind does coffee better than matcha, but I might be biased. Points for REAL drinkware and not to go cups for those dining in...almost no cafes do that anymore. read more

Stopped by since we were in the area. Parking could be a bit difficult since it's all street parking, but we got really lucky. The interior was very aesthetic and I liked how there were different types of seats and it seemed like a great place to do work. Mind Coffee is out of the way for me, but I try to grab a matcha here whenever I'm in the area. Their seasonal iced sakura matcha mindspanner latte is back, and it's probably one my favorite, floral-forward drinks I've had. In most other cases blossomy food and drink tends to be overpowered by a perfume-like aroma. In this case however it's balanced perfectly with the matcha, present but not too loud. Additionally, the bathroom is consistently clean, and looks very nice. read more
Located on the outskirt of the UC Berkeley campus, this cafe is easily accessible by bus and walking. Its not a very well ventilated cafe so it was a bit stuffy when I visited today. I ordered their seasonal double strawberry matcha and the matcha mindspanner. Their strawberry really let me down. It was incredibly tart and sour, I couldnt taste any sweetness at all. I couldnt drink it and ended up tossing it. The strawberry puree must have been the reason it was so sour. I really enjoyed the matcha mindspanner, it was delicious! It was perfectly sweet and deliciously creamy. It's definitely a drink I will crave. This matcha is on the sweeter side, so adjust the sweetness if you prefer your drinks to be less sweet. It has a slight bitterness to it which was a nice balance to the earthy notes. I also really love how alternative milks were no extra charge. I will definitely come back on a cooler day to sit in the cafe. read more
Always fun to try different coffee/matcha spots in Berkeley! Cute interior decor and friendly baristas here. We ordered via the kiosk inside which was quick and easy. Zero line and only a 5 minute wait for our drinks. We got the matcha earl grey einspanner and einspanner latte. Both were delicious and super creamy! I personally liked the einspanner latte more, but my husband liked the matcha earl grey einspanner. Both are good and you honestly can't go wrong here. Wish we had this coffee shop in San Francisco! It's hard to find einspanner drinks, so I was excited to finally try this place. There was so many options so it was tough choose a drink, but I ended up getting both the matcha and hojicha einspanners. I was the told the matcha they used was high quality. The matcha einspanner had a delicious cream top and wasn't overly sweet, which I really enjoyed. The hojicha, on the other hand, was a bit too sweet for my taste. The shop itself is a cute, narrow space with moderate seating. The barista was friendly, and just a heads-up, paid street parking. I will definitely come back to try more drinks. read more

Had an amazing pour over here! Staff was super friendly. Their hydrangea pour over which was a Rume Sudan varietal was fruity, tea like and very balanced. Honestly considering trying to a find a bag of it. Vibe of the shop was busy buzzing with people, students and some families too. Just a great find for a warm and hip shop in Berkeley. read more

Stunning cafe in Berkeley's northside! Mind Coffee's space is small but a cute spot to stop by with friends. I've tried a few of Mind's drinks, specifically their matcha and hojicha einspanner drinks. I find their matcha to a be a bit inconsistent--when I got the summer seasonal strawberry matcha einspanner, the matcha flavor was incredibly watered down and not great. But when I got the winter seasonal earl grey matcha einspanner, I found the matcha flavor to be bold yet smooth and creamy. I've also tried their hojicha drinks twice, which had a rice roasted nutty flavor both times I've visited! I think if I were to get a drink from them again, I'd stick with the hojicha, because I've also heard that it's been more consistent in comparison to their other drinks. The service here has been great each time I've visited. They are also on Snackpass so you can order ahead of time. Overall great cafe despite their occasional inconsistency in drink quality. I'd still recommend this spot to anyone who's interested to check this place out when they get a chance! read more
