Beautiful little coffee shop next to campus.

We were at Berkeley for Cal Day, and had breakfast there. It seems loke a populat student hangout, so there were lots of students there. Despite that there was seating available and the service was prompt even with the crowd. Food was excellent as was my iced dirty Chai tea. Definitely goong back there.

Café Strada is located adjacent to the UC Berkeley campus. If you want breakfast and if you want coffee this place gets it done. I like the selection and the coffee was good and the breakfast sandwich panini was satisfying. What else can you ask for? They also have a pastry case if you're interested in grabbing a pastry to go. They are open early and stay open to midnight so is truly a great place to get food and hangout. There's inside and outside seating. Casual. Street parking. Please come and create your own adventure.

I was leaving the the cal Berkeley game and was looking for a nice cold drink. I found this nice cafe about a block away from the stadium. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. Staff were friendly and polite. I ordered a tropical hibiscus tea on ice. The tea was very refreshing and very delicious. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was delicious, sweet and soft. Ambiance is customer friendly and restaurant vibe is very chill. The cafe is a great hangout in Berkeley.

Not only did they serve me the best coffee of my life, but this place now fulfills the role of spiritually spooning me when I get the Sunday scaries. For $11, I can get a pretzel and beer (girl dinner). I would give this 10 stars if I could.

Caffe Strada has a casual, welcoming neighborhood vibe that invites you to stay a while and enjoy the space. Loved the outdoor patio area, which is definitely the highlight. Coffee is standard, but you come for the vibes.

Ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich

An ideal cafe given the location to UC Berkeley. There is also plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors to study and sit. The glass windows everywhere really opened up the space (and also perfect for people watching). Service is fast. I think between ordering and receiving my latte and ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was only a few minutes. The large latte is 20oz which was a pleasant surprise! Normally I would expect 16oz in this area but I'm definitely not complaining. I will say, this latte was subpar. It was incredibly bitter and burnt tasting, even after trying to mix the drink around to see if it was something with the distribution. I know that sometimes different roasts can have different flavor, but I really couldn't even finish my latte since I wasn't enjoying it. The breakfast sandwich was okay. The ciabatta bread was great and the sandwich came out very toasty. I would recommend some hot sauce on it since it can be a little one dimensional in flavor. Overall, I don't see myself coming back. If I do it would be to maybe try out a different breakfast item.

It was $10 for a pre made microwaved wrap. Might be the driest burrito I've ever eaten. Bad food, expensive, and service was average.

Ask the Community - Caffe Strada

    Are dogs allowed outside?

    Yes

    Any Indoor seating available?

    Yes

Does it have good WiFi connection?

Yes! The wifi is stable - I spent many days there watching videos for a review course and usually had no problems with the signal (except a few times when it was super crowded)

Does the establishment accept credit/debit cards at this time?

    Yes they do!

Do they have a bathroom for customers?

Yes! There are restrooms in the back that are available for customers and are sometimes used by the general public

    Does it have vegan options?

They primarily have pastries such as muffins, cakes, and breads as well as fruit and yogurt parfaits. I believe you can substitute soy or almond milk for regular milk in the coffee drinks

When I go into a cafe, dishes usually include sandwiches, baked sweets, pancakes or waffles. But there are times when I look at the menu and I'm trying to wake up, so I want a simpler menu. Here, they have the toast with butter. Yes, this is the perfect dish for the moment that I tend to have when choosing the first meal of the day. I also love their other menu, which is the toast with a canned fish. The cafe also sells these alongside coffee beans. The toast is sliced thick with a generous smear of butter. The toast surface has a golden shine from the melted butter. Every bite has a juicy butter taste. On the side of toast is a side of a beautiful semi-boiled egg with a runny yolk -- my favorite type of way to eat yolks. Next time, when I visit here, I will definitely try the canned fish and eat that for breakfast. That is another good breakfast menu I would love to have and try with a cup of coffee.

The good: Their vanilla latte is genuinely good. Flavorful, balanced, and not overly sweet. The food is decent too. The bad: Why is a vanilla latte pushing $7 these days and still arriving nowhere near the top of the cup? When I asked about it, I was told it's just one ice cube short of the normal volume. But consistently? Maybe that's what they mean by Ain't Normal. My bigger issue is the service. Maybe I've caught them on off days, but the staff has consistently come off with a bit of attitude. Nobody needs a parade when they order coffee, but a little warmth goes a long way, especially when you're charging specialty coffee prices. At the end of the day, the coffee is good enough that I've come back more than once. I just wish the cups were fuller and the customer service matched the quality of the drinks.

I ordered the egg coffee, and my friend and I also got the popcorn chicken to share. The coffee was so yummy! It had a nice, strong coffee flavor. It was my first time trying egg cream and I enjoyed it. The popcorn chicken was also tasty and it came in a generous portion. I especially liked the sauce that came with it. We placed an online order, so everything was ready as soon as we got there, which was convenient. The store was clean and spacious, and I thought the prices weren't bad! We went on a Fri morning right around opening and it wasn't very crowded. Ordered at the kiosk and our order came out pretty quickly with my husband getting the cookie butter matcha and me getting the ube matcha. Idk if it was our timing or order, but the matcha was slightly watery and did not have a strong flavor. Additionally, my ube tasted like straight coconut than ube to the point where my husband was like yo they dyed some coconut foam purple LOL I highly doubt that was the case, but point made. The interior is fine, small but tables and wifi if you want to get some work done or study. Prices are what they are for matcha right now so I was sad to pay those prices and get a drink that was just okay. I'm not sure I'd give this spot a chance again, but eh there are a lot of competitors to give a try instead.
