This is a great local coffee shop! Located on University Avenue, Fellini's is a great option when you're in need of a pick-me-up. They have great pastries, including some vegan options, and the coffee is delicious! This is a walk-thru only. I remember when I was looking at apartments in Berkeley, a realtor told me Fellini's was the best coffee in Berkeley. I assumed she was just saying that so I'd sign for the apartment, but turns out she was onto something! Happened upon this place walking to North Berkeley BART after dropping off my partners car at her mechanics. It's a nice 1ish mile walk to BART. Was feeling like a second cup of coffee and also went with an egg and bacon English muffin thing. Strangest think though about the bacon. It was like it had been cooked and then ground up and probably mixed with fillers and looked like a very thin slice of salami. I mean paper thin. Overall not bad but the bacon had lots to be desired. When the menu says bacon, I expect bacon. Took care of initial hunger pains and need for a coffee fix. Walk up windows and outside seating, some of it covered. Coffee was good. Staff pleasant. They also had pastry items. Typical Berkeley kind of place with posters of plays, readings, events and social justice posters on the walls. I think Fellini Coffeebar is great and the baristas are friendly and look cool and they're knowledgeable. But Fellini's which is an average little place could be much greater. First, they might consider cleaning the place. Second, they might consider having different pastries now and then and also to light them in a way that could actually see them. Third, they might consider some umbrellas, those large ones. Fourth, they might stay open a little longer. People will come, believe me, because the coffee is fantastic. Fifth, what is definitely not fantastic is the milk. They advertise being organic and yet they use cheap milk that doesn't even eschew rBST. Why not use organic milk and charge fifty cents more to cover the costs. Sixth, get some new tables and chairs. Seven, get a heater for those cold days that are coming. I want people not to think lf me as the King of Negativity. I love going to Fellini's but really the place needs a kick in the ass. If they followed my considerations, Fellini's would burn brighter among the coffee lovers. Their coffee and espresso drinks are fantastic We will see if any of my suggestions are followed. There is a patio area to sit, however, it does not have heat lamps or overhead cover, so it is not the "coziest" space to perch with your beverage! Can't complain about anything here. It's in a little side street and has a parking lot attached so no need to worry about street parking. Probably the best priced coffee in the area. 16oz latte for less than $5 is a steal. Wouldn't say it was the best latte that I have ever had far from the worst. It definitely hit the caffeine need that I had. Haven't tried any of the baked goods so will need to do that at some point. But I've tried the breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Pretty sure they're pre-packaged and microwaved (at least looking at how the cheese oozed from my sandwich) but doesn't mean they weren't tasty. I'm not a morning person but I make it a point to stop here before I start work because, well, I love this place. The veggie quiche is delicious and it's their Mexican Mocha I just can't get enough of; it packs a nice amount of caffeine with two espresso shots and it's lightly sweetened with whipped cream. I felt like I was bothering the lady when I was ordering, you know the arrogant bartender feel. She wasn't paying attention and seemed bothered. She mistook my order and proceeded to berate me when I told her the order was wrong. Instead of apologizing she made a big deal out of it. I was surprised and didn't really want to make a big deal out of it so I just took her mistake. I would avoid this place like the plague if I were you. Not worth your time or money. This a lottle kiosk type coffee bar in a parking lot. No drive-in available, only walk-up. Service was fast and my green tea was good. The parking was easy and there were benches to use at your convenience. There seem to be a nice selection of coffees and several varieties of green tea including Jasmine. I believe they so had a few food selections as well. The cashier accomodated my needs and was friendly. I will co.e back again when im in the area. read more

I've always driven by Fellini Coffee bar and was curious to try it due to the long lines. Finally was able to attend this morning. While there is a parking lot here, I would recommend street parking since a lot of customers were physically distancing themselves by standing in the street. There were a variety of pastries and hot and cold beverages. I ordered a 20 oz iced white Chocolate frappe (delicious!!!) and an almond croissant. Both excellent choices. I would pass by this spot every time I drive by university, and I was always meaning to try it. I finally did today! There is parking so you don't even have to worry about street parking. I love the storefront it seems like a cute drive thru/pick up. There is also outdoor seating. I ordered the iced coffee and it is reasonably priced for $2.95 for 16 ounces. The coffee was bold and more "roasty" in flavor - probably a blend slightly darker than medium. I noticed there was a Mexican mocha on their menu... seems interesting to try! This was a highlight of my shelter-in-place walk yesterday. I had a perfect cappuccino--lovely thick foam, and the espresso wasn't burnt or too hot. They have a rich array of pastries from local bakeries. Morning buns and bran muffins stood out as looking especially tasty. Came across this cute little coffee shop while I was walking around Berkeley awhile back. I was waiting for a friend and I ended up getting them an iced americano. I got myself a vegan donut (too bad I forgot to take a picture of it because I was too hungry). The americano and the vegan donut in total came out to be $6.50 which is really cheap! Really wish I lived around the area because I could totally see myself coming here just for the bargain deal. I tried my friend's americano and it was actually pretty decent. The vegan donut wasn't too bad either (though I guess its hard to say since I scarfed it before being able to enjoy it lol, my friend seemed entertained though haha). Props to the owner for the rec. Unfortunately, Its a little bit out of my way to get there, but there is a lot of parking so you wouldn't have to worry about looking for parking while heading over there. This place is a great find during normal times and is even better during COVID. They have an exterior walk up window, the staff is super friendly, and even if there is a line it moves quickly enough. I generally get the iced latte here and it's always nice and smooth. The vanilla latte is also tasty. Just an FYI, they have iced coffee, but not cold brew.
