Cute cozy cafe in Downtown Berkeley! MY Coffee Roastery is a charming cafe with cottage-themed decor, delicious pastries, and good cafe drinks. I tried their Lemon Blossom Latte because I've never seen this flavor of latte at any other store and it was good! The lemon taste was prominent but not too overpowering and paired well in an iced latte drink. I also tried their Chocolate Almond Croissant which had a nice crispy exterior and not-too-sweet filling that I enjoyed. The ambiance is very cute given the cottage theme and the staff were very friendly. There is free wifi at this cafe (though connection is a bit weak), but barely any outlets (I couldn't find any for myself when I was there). Not sure if I'd do work here, but there are plenty of seats both indoors and outdoors for people to sit at. I got espresso. The single origin (Ethiopia) and house blend. Both were well executed. The single origin was fruit forward on the nose. The shot had good crema and was not bitter or burnt. It was bright and acidic with fruit and floral notes. The texture was lighter than I prefer but not watery 3.5/5. The house blend was more my style. Nutty and chocolatey notes came through and were balanced with light acidity. Same good layer of crema and texture that was light for my taste 4/5. They also had a solid pour over selection with the different beans. Worth a try next time I visit. read more

MY Coffee Roastery is an adorable little shop tucked into Berkeley's bustling streets. Parking can be tricky, but we lucked out with a spot right in front, definitely a win. I ordered an affogato and a tiramisu. The affogato came in a stylish glass that was a bit awkward to drink from, but the presentation was lovely. The tiramisu? Absolutely perfect. I'm not sure if it's house-made or sourced, but either way, it was delicious. There's seating available, though I imagine it gets competitive during peak hours. I'm not sure when I bookmarked this coffee shop but I was in the are this weekend so I was able to try it out. There's plenty of street parking nearby and the cafe itself is cozy yet so spacious. I was greeted by the sweetest lady, not sure if she was the owner but she was just so lovely and kind. I really appreciated her warm and kind energy. I ordered the cold brew with vanilla and it was probably one of the best cold brews I've had. It was smooth and not too bitter and the vanilla was a nice touch to it. Adorable little cozy, "cottagecore"-esque cafe nestled on bustling MLK Jr. Way. Rather than being a detriment, the small interior imparts a pleasant level of intimacy. Although their menu is limited, their drinks are high quality and are more than enough to compensate. Stopped by on a Saturday around noon and there was no line. I was greeted and served immediately. Their menu is compact. They offer espresso, pour overs, lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, match, and a handful of specialty drinks. One of their specialty drinks is the Fluffy, 2 shots of espresso over cream soda. I tried the Fluffy ($8) on a whim and it was delicious. The cream soda is mildly sweet, espresso is smooth and full-bodied, and the combo of carbonation + espresso crema is heavenly. Best part: no extra charge for milk substitutes, which is a *huge* plus for me. Another Yelp review described MY Coffee Roastery as reminiscent of Lord of the Rings, and I highly agree. It almost feels out of place, with so much vehicular and pedestrian traffic right outside, but the cozy atmosphere it almost a reprieve from the outside chaos. Highly recommend stopping by, especially if you want a quiet moment to sit or read. FYI, seems to be dog friendly! Has a bowl of water in the exterior seating area for dogs. read more

Stumbled across this lovely little cafe while walking around Berkeley. The cozy cottage/Lord of the Rings/elf vibe is what initially drew me in! Their Almond croissant is my favorite fluffly and soft especially when warmed up. Christine is a wonderful lady, you can feel her presence and energy. Only thing, I would improve is the temperature; it was cooler than I like. The double espresso was also rich and flavorful and not burnt. Chocolate chunk cookie warmed up was oo-gooey delicious. This place is easy to miss since it's hidden on the corner in downtown Berkeley right by University ave. What intrigued me about this coffee shop every time I passed by was the exterior of the shop. It seemed very forestry and whimsical each time I passed by. While the seating inside is limited, there is definitely plenty of seating outdoors. Don't be intimated by the line though because they serve their coffee pretty fast and so you won't be waiting in line for a long time like you would at starbucks. I tried the orange blossom latte and it was really good, the only complaint for me would be that the orange was a strong taste. I did ask the person taking my order if it was a strong taste and he said it wasn't. Oh well... Either way the latte did taste good despite the strong orange and I would come back again to try their other coffee options. read more

This is such a cute little coffee shop! I had some time to kill so decided to grab a cup of coffee and do some work. Their service is great! I was greeted very warmly by the staff, and my drink was made very quickly. There was a lot of people in line for coffee but everyone got their orders really quickly and the line moved pretty quickly. I got the latte and it did not disappoint. My Coffee Roastery is such a unique looking and feeling coffee shop! There's an interior bar with plugs for your electronic device if you plan to study there. The interior and exterior are decorated in this aesthetic appealing to german A frames with shingles and cobble. What a cool spot for a coffee and small bite to eat. Service was not crystal clear or especially unique. Standard card or cash register with a pastry display to the right of the register. You do need to request a for here order. Otherwise they make it to-go. Good to know for next time! Recommend walking through the nearby dog park or the university if you have the time afterwards. The area is relatively flat unless you climb through UC Berkeley. Got a drip coffee with half&half, my pal got a matcha lattee w/ oatmilk. Both got pastries to split. Mmm guuuuuuuuuud stuff!! This place is a recent favorite of mine and I often crave their highly crafted latte drinks like their Orange Blossom latte, but today I was the first person to try their new seasonal iced strawberry matcha (and it did not disappoint)!
