I usually love getting coffee and food here, so this visit was really disappointing. I tried the bagel, and it was not good at all. It was thick, didn't come with bacon, and I had to pay an extra $5 to add it. The bacon also wasn't fully cooked, and my coffee tasted a little burnt. I normally enjoy this coffee shop, but this visit was a letdown. Next time, I'll definitely be saying something.

Adore this place and the vibe! The aesthetics, the tranquility in the atmosphere is awesome. Not just that, any questions i had about wanting to host a party here was answered thoroughly. Or hosting any event because of how beautiful the patio is. Let's get to the food, I came here with just my son and myself. So i splurged a bit with the avocado toast, added lox, and an egg. When i bit into it, the flavors of the creaminess of the runny egg over the lox and avocado was heavenly! I also got a latte and it was soooo yummy, the espresso was perfect, it was strong enough to my liking that i didn't have to go back and ask for an extra shot of espresso on the side. It had sweet hints that blended perfectly to the milk. This is now a go to spot when we visit the Berkeley area. I also love that they're open until 6.

I always drive by Cafenated but never stopped by. I finally had the chance and I'm glad I did. I'm trying to less caffeine these days so to hear that they had a decaf chai latte I was so excited! It was so delicious, I had it with oat milk and nothing else and it was perfect. I will definitely come back to try some of their food, looks like they have brunch and dinner. The pastries also looked delicious if that's something you like. I didn't see any vegan and/or gluten free options for pastries, unless I missed it. The staff was very nice, always with a smile. The coffee spot was pretty big with some tables inside to sit at. It's easy to find since it's on the corner of Ashby and College Ave in Berkeley. Plenty of street parking around that is usually free for 2 hours.

Went in before Alabama Shakes show at the Greek last night for a quick jolt of espresso. Never been. Nice outdoor space. Plenty of seating inside to read , listen to music, or break out that laptop if needed. Was met by friendly staff right away. Cortado was just what I needed and the pour was gorgeous.

Cafenated has an incredible ambiance as a place to study! Both the indoor seating area and the outdoor patio are very beautiful, especially on a sunny day. If you want to get some work done here, come early or you may have to wait for a table. I really would not recommend eating brunch here. It was a limited menu and they've taken a lot of menu items off (like the pork belly sandwich). A lot of the food did not feel fresh or made to order. The chicken and waffles plate did not feel like the chicken tenders were freshly battered and fried. I'm only giving this high of a rating because the cafe is so big and beautiful and the staff were friendly. It has great potential to be a successful brunch spot if they can improve the food options.

My friend who lives in the area took me here after a good workout. I was a little hungry and definitely needing coffee. My friend said she loves this place. The vibe and decor are just my style. My friend and I split the avocado toast. We both ordered a latte. I forget what type it was. Both were delicious! The bread they use for the toast is amazing! Quite filling even sharing the plate. The outside is beautiful. There's a fire pit and outdoor heating so you can be cozy outside too.

Food was pretty good! Recommend their salmon toasts! Nicely presented and each toast was $10 from the special they had. Tried their ube latte and my friend said it was just okay. Good spot for brunch and a coffee.

I will say very cute ambiance and relaxing environment. However the matcha was pretty weak. A bit disappointing for $7.72 that it tasted just like milk. It seems a few people have had the same experience, maybe just use a little more matcha in the recipe, especially with the price point.

Don't be fooled by the simplistic exterior of this coffee shop; there is a large beautiful oasis garden in the back. Off the main road, the serenity of the Cafenated Coffee is welcoming. Great roasts and the coffee here is excellent. Not bitter, creamy, full body and satisfying. I ordered the croissant to enjoy with my coffee, and simply stated, didn't. It was not buttery and flaky, rather more like bread shaped into a croissant. I asked to have it warmed up, hoping to make it more palatable, and it was not. Next time, I would like to return and try their other food menu items. Either way, I will be back for the coffee alone.

I popped in here to grab a coffee and do some work and will certainly be back! I came on a Wednesday afternoon and the cafe was busy, but I was still able to quickly find a seat. The staff were welcoming and friendly and my salted caramel cappuccino came out promptly and was delicious! I sat inside as it was a bit chilly, but there is some seating out front and ample seating on the back patio. On a nice day, I'd love to have lunch out there, it's beautiful!

We've been visiting friends and family in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley and we had the most delicious lunch at the Caffeinated Coffee cafe. Manuel helped me pick out some delicious lunches! The cafe has a wonderful outdoor as well as indoor seating areas and even their bathroom has a magnificent mosaic design!

Service: Service is minimal, basically the bare essentials. Staff seemed a bit disinterested, giving off a subtle "why are you here?" vibe. Guys- it isn't new york, it's California ‍ Location: Beautiful outdoor space with plenty of tables and greenery--definitely the highlight of this spot. Drink: I've visited a few times, and the drinks have always been fairly standard, nothing particularly memorable. Worth coming for the outdoor ambiance rather than the beverages.

My wife and I entered and it was not crowded. However, there were 2 groups of people there and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were immediately greeted and seated. Once seated, we were greeted by the owner (Did not know she was the owner at the time..lml). She informed us of what came with the Charcuterie Board and we chose Fontaine over Goat cheese (My wife does not like goat cheese). We ordered the codfish cakes. She provided us with some wine selections and even offered some to be tried (Free) to help with deciding. My wife chose a Rose and I chose a Malbec. When the Board came, we were amazed at the presentation. When are tasted it, we fell in love lml. Everything went together so well.. including the wine we decided to pair with it. We complimented every bite to once another. The codfish cake was seasoned, lightly battered and full of fish. It was served with olive oil and lime. So so so good!!!! We enjoyed 2 glasses of wine during our time. The Board was enough to share between 2 ppl. If it is more than 2 ppl, you will need to add/pay for additional items. We received great conversation from the owner. My wife at some point asked her she was the in fact the owner and she did yes. Her name is Diva (Might be misspelled...def get real name, but that is exactly how she is). She was so personalable, honest, transparent, and full of smiles. Oh.. they have live music on Saturdays beginning at 7pm. They rotate the genres. They spay have a heated outdoor patio with seating that we will try next time. I think we found out wine bar joy. Thank you for an exceptional 5 star treatment, without even trying. It was so natural!!!

I really wanted to like this place. I'd walked by several times and loved the interior design, and the videos on Instagram made it seem like such a great spot. I stopped in one evening by myself, ordered a glass of wine and the warm olives (which were delicious), and was looking forward to a relaxing night. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was packed, and the atmosphere felt more concerned with maintaining an image than making guests feel welcome. I understand some restaurants embrace a more reserved European style of service, but this came across as cold and pretentious rather than intentional hospitality. As a solo diner especially, I didn't feel acknowledged or valued as a guest. It also didn't help that the dining room had a noticeable body odor smell that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean and beautifully designed. I originally thought this would become my go-to place to grab a glass of wine while waiting for a table at the ramen spot next door, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Reading through other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who had this impression. Oakland's charm has always been its people. You can open a French-inspired wine bar, but hospitality translates into every language. If you're going to bring a Parisian aesthetic to Oakland, don't mistake indifference for sophistication. Guests should leave feeling welcomed, not judged.

I've been a patron of Vintage for years, and what's not to like? The location is gorgeous (a former pumping plant thats been transformed into a cozy, intimate space with a garden out front that changes with the seasons). And the shop is nestled right in the heart of Berkeley's Gourmet District with Peets, Saul's Deli, Cheeseboard Coop and Pizza, Andronico's, and Chez Panisse as next door neighbors. Inside you will find wines by color, grape, and region. It's not an enormous collection, but a lot of thought and experience has gone into presenting customers with something new and surprising. If I can't find myself making an easy decision, the staff have always been patient and helpful in finding the right bottle for my needs. Vintage also offers several different wine clubs for people who like a monthly or bimonthly grab bag of adult grape juice (including the occasional bubbles!). This is the wine store I wish I had as a neighborhood shop. For now, it's a well deserved destination (along with Kermit Lynch Wine Shop) that has yet to disappoint. Give it a try!
