A substantial breakfast and lunch menu for a cafe ranging from breakfast entrees to sandwiches to bowls all decently priced. There were some really interesting combinations but we weren't adventurous and ordered the Homestyle Breakfast and Açaí bowl with a side of Golden Potato and Bacon. Eggs were prepared correctly as over medium, the potatoes were golden and crispy and the açaí bowl fresh. We tried the Merguez (North African sausage) which was very flavorful and smoky. I've called her quite a few times with my friend and we really enjoy it. Always plenty of people on weekends so make sure you leave a little bit of time to wait in line. There's always a line out the door, but it does move pretty fast. There's available parking around the area mostly on the street so also plan on a little extra time to find parking, especially during busy times prices are pretty reasonable I'll slightly higher than some regular places. Have quality is pretty good. Everything seems to be pretty clean and healthy for the most part. Love the options here and they also have delicious coffee drinks available. read more

We chose Cafe Révielle in West Berkeley to start a Monday of exploring (Oct 2025). The Cafe has a clean mixed modern look, some wood tables indoors with seats or stools in front of floor-to-ceiling windows, and some brightly colored simple outdoor tables, too. Service was quick at 10:30am. Their coffee was freshly-roasted to a slight sweetness and freshly-ground for our $4 American-style and $5 cappuccino mugs, and we also liked the rich somewhat-nutty flavor of their $5 green tea. They have quite a selection of pastries on display, and some savory open-face breads with salmon or burrata or veggies. We always like avocado toast, and here it was built with an array of fresh thin creamy slices with light salt, pepper, and fresh olive oil on a hearty slice of toasted flavorful whole-grain local Levain bread, for only $5.50. The $12.50 scrambled-egg and cheddar sandwich was artistically stacked with crispy bacon and "the works", a layer of thinly sliced avocado, bitey arugula, and a bright splash of spicy hot-sauce, all on a poppy-seeded kaiser. The $15 aćai bowl was pretty with strawberry and kiwi slices, blueberries, and shredded coconut, and not-overwhelmed with too many banana slices, over an impossible to deconstruct grainy granola aćai mix with tiny chocolate nibs and a generous dose of bee pollen! read more

The place was filled with homeless people, it was unsanitary. A homeless guy literally came and sat on our table while we were still eating and the workers just sat and did nothing. We had kids with us, so we asked them please escort the homeless person out but they refused to help. The homesless guy ate our food for about good 10 min, i told them at least replace the food he touched, the workers were so rude and unhelpful, they basically said it was our fault we let him sit down. Unprofessional and unsanitary. Do no recommend this place or at least the Berkeley location. read more

I come here a few times a week, and always have had pretty mediocre interactions with the team. But it's close to the office and it's not Peet's. Today, I ordered some lunch online and when I walked in, I stood in front of the counter while the barista played on her phone for at least 30 seconds before she acknowledged my presence. No hello. She just asked me what I wanted with no eye contact after I waited until she was done being on her phone. I write this review in the hopes management sees this and trains their team on basic hospitality practices. I want to support smaller businesses, but it's pretty frustrating to get this level of service almost every time. When the dish came out, I immediately smelled a sink/toilet water smell. But because the cafe looks so nice, I really disregarded my own precautions and went ahead and ate the pasta thinking it might some truffle oil mix. About an hour later, I went to my yoga class and couldn't do anything but rest on the mat. I went home and had a bowel movement that was explosive and runny in nature. I ordered a breakfast burrito with only avocado, black beans, & potatoes, when I received my burrito there was no hint of avocado visible in it. They told me it was in there. Most burritos when sliced open you can see all the ingredients on the surface once open but I did not see any green whatsoever. After opening the burrito and getting to the bottom, there was one HALF slice of avocado in the ENTIRE burrito. The eggs were greasy too and the potatoes had zero seasoning. I had to follow up again just to get it moving. I popped in for an iced tea. It was a hot day and I'd been busy taking my husband to medical appointments all morning. I had my Service dog with me, although they may not have known that she was a service dog as she wears a regular harness. I had the breakfast with bacon and eggs over medium and sub toast for salad greens (thanks for the suggestion). The drink came out first and the food came out within about 15 minutes. Plated beautifully and very appealing. No photo because that's not my responsibility when I'm trying to eat. Go and see for yourself. Every thing perfection. No runny whites on my eggs, potatoes moist inside and crisp outside and the bacon just right! Even the salad greens (arugula) had a tasty dressing and while I truly wish I could have had the toast (my friend's looked so good) I'm trying to give my body the right stuff and did the right thing. I would like a bit more seasoning but that is a personal preference no one would be able to get right and the bottom line is that I didn't add a thing (not even S&P or hot sauce) even though it was offered. 2 meals for about $40 excluding tax and tip (I'm a heavy tipper for good service). I originally intended to come here to study, but there's more of a busy, almost restaurant-like vibe, especially during peak hours (Sunday 1 pm for brunch). The breakfast bowl is very nutrient-dense, and I really enjoyed the eggs and generous portion of avocado complemented by the tahini sauce. It was sunny and breezy. It's nice because they're is a large parking light right there so parking is easy. The food was simple, fresh and tasty. We both ordered salads and they were quite filling but also light somehow. I would highly recommend the Tahini Falafel Bowl- (falafel, brown rice and quinoa, with root veggies, green tahini, yogurt sauce, chili oil, sesame and herb) it was fresh, tangy and well spiced. The avocado was perfectly ripe. The Crunchy Bowl- (sweet potato, shiitake mushroom, kale, avocado, crunchy broken rice, cilantro, sesame and peanut) was really good.
