I'm giving El Tiny Cafe five stars, easy. Yelp brought me here because of the strong ratings, and I have to say I completely agree with the hype. This spot is in Berkeley and it definitely has a vibe. At first I didn't fully understand the whole "tiny" concept until we ordered and everything clicked. I got one of their burritos and had that moment of thinking, okay... how many of these am I going to need? But nope, that wasn't the case at all. It's not one of those massive, oversized tortillas. It's a real, standard burrito, the kind my Mexican mom would make for me before school. Simple, comforting, and filling in the best way. Because of that, the price point feels very fair. The flavors are what really stood out to me. Everything tastes homemade, like someone's mom's recipe, and that's honestly hard to find. The service was also really nice, super warm, and welcoming. I grabbed a double shot coffee and it absolutely woke me up for the drive back to LA, which was very much needed. There's something about this place that feels hidden and special, not trying too hard, just doing things right. My favorite little moment was when I went to grab a complimentary water cup and saw how tiny it was. I literally laughed and then it hit me. Ohhh. Tiny Cafe. I totally get it now. Friendly service! Ordered a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, only to get home to a dry toasted bagel, no egg, cheese or meat! WTF. Breakfast burrito was tasty, but no bigger then 3 fingers. A sweet little place nestled in the quiet part of Berkeley. My friend and I were able to grab breakfast burrito and gluten free sandwich with eggs, tomato, and avocado along with 2 hot drinks for $20! And the service staff were patient, helping me with customizing my food and drink choices. The Vietnamese coffee was yummy. And the restroom was clean too. Will be back! read more

drinks were good, the mazapan coffee was nutty and tasted great, but i got a hot matcha and it was so bitter :( I usually get matcha everywhere I go since I'm not a coffee enjoyer but it's either the quality of matcha here or the heat that made it bitter, probably the former because color was a very dull green compared to ceremonial matcha that most other places serve. However the food was sooo good! The sandwhich was so big for the price and I got the quesadilla which was also pretty filling for $4.50 + $3 turkey. They have one self ordering kiosk but the service is very friendly! Doing laundry next door I decided to grab coffee and some breakfast. The tiny cafe, isn't too tiny, there are seats inside and out. The staff were super friendly. I was pleasantly surprised that they had gluten free bread for my breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was fresh, full and tasty, as was my coffee. I'll be back! read more

Couldn't taste as much of the chorizo as other places, so maybe they could add a little more for a better flavor kick? Customer service was great..... the menu had multiple breakfast options for someone who doesn't eat eggs so that was a plus for me! I got a everything bagel with Turkey, Pepper-jack, tomato and avocado and a Ham egg & Swiss croissant for my friend. We both enjoyed our food! Very cute cafe with excellent flavored lattes! Last time I tried the marizipan latte. It was so delicious I had to pace myself! There was even bits of Marzipan at the bottom. I also tried a lox bagel and they are very generous with the lox. 10/10. Today I am having a horchata latte inside. For being off a busy street, it's pretty quiet inside. My hubby went out for a Saturday morning bike ride. He asked if I wanted a sweet or savory treat. I said "Both!" of course. He discovered the Tiny Cafe on Adeline. What a find! Thankfully while doing some shopping and after a great meal at Divan Restaurant a few block away we popped into Artis Coffee. Wow! Our cashier was very friendly and appreciated our humor and debate on whether to have a "decaffeinated" cappuccino or not. I convince my wife to order one and she loved loved loved it! My "hi test" cappuccino was spectacular, smooth and perfect! Honestly, It took me back to Roma where we had aour honeymoon 22 years ago! Bella! Artis opened on December 7, 2013 and is located on the northern end of the Fourth Street Shops (a.k.a. Fourth Street Berkeley). This is a fairly spacious cafe with an industrial/warehouse, minimalist look. During my afternoon visit, it was busy inside and out on the covered patio. Lots of people on their laptops. Artis roasts their own coffee. Service was fine. I got a side eye from the cashier/barista when I asked where the water station was (it was my first time and I was unfamiliar with this place), but they were nice and polite otherwise. The water pressure at the self-serve faucet was too strong and sprayed water everywhere. Good for a coffee fix if you're in the area.

No but it was a good one and I think it would be easier to discern the true quality with a straight espresso shot or even a cappuccino. I like my lattes to have a little more character from the beans but well made. My favorite thing about it was actually the temperature. It wasn't crazy hot so you could actually enjoy it instantly. Some may want it hotter but for me it was ideal. They do have seasonal drinks including a pumpkin spice latte for fall and solid selection of non coffee drinks. The almond croissant I had (not baked by them I don't think) was good but a bit too crispy and over baked . I think I have been spoilt by the very excellent croissants of San Francisco and have yet to find an amazing one in the East Bay but it was clearly made with good butter and lots of almonds. Plenty of seating although every inside table was taken by people; some outside tables were open. They also have a solid selection of local beans for sale. Overall, a solid shop but don't come if you're in a hurry.

It a perfect spot if you want to start off your day with an amazing morning at El Tiny Cafe. The service was amazing and fast. They were really patience with what we were thinking of ordering and gave us recommendations. The order came by really quick and we only had to wait about 10 minutes. This is a perfect spot to start of your day and to start your mood for the day. I ordered a Carmelo latte and a cheese and ham sandwich. It tasted so good and brightened my spirit a lot. The sandwich tasted so good it was perfectly balanced with cheese and ham. I saw the faces of my peers and it looked like they really enjoyed El Tiny Cafes amazing food. I can tell that the food brightened their spirit and gave them more energy for the day. Their was beautiful decorations and murals on the wall. I can tell that this would be a perfect place to let go from everything that your dealing with and have a perfectly relaxed morning at the cafe. Its a really good place to chill and relax and get work done. We ended up leaving with the satisfaction of having a good morning. And an amazing start to our days. I love this cafe. Every time someone enters **or leaves**, the door chime sounds **twice**. With a constant flow of customers, that means the chime is going off over and over again throughout the entire time you're sitting here. It's loud and extremely distracting if you're trying to work, read, study, or even just enjoy your coffee. I politely asked one of the employees if the chime could be disabled. He explained that they need it so they know when customers enter. I could understand that in a large store where employees might be working out of sight, but this is a relatively small café. There were two employees working up front, with the counter roughly 12 feet from the entrance, and a steady stream of customers coming through. The café itself has a nice atmosphere and could be a great place to sit and work, which is why this is particularly frustrating. A motion indicator, quieter single chime, or some other less intrusive system would accomplish the same purpose without subjecting customers to a double chime every few minutes. It's a small operational issue, but after sitting here for an hour, it has had a disproportionately large effect on the experience. I hope management considers changing it.
