I dig this place. Love the décor. I love that the food does not cost an arm and a leg but is still good quality. $6 burgers. Reasonably priced sides so you can add your own and you are not forced into getting fries with it or having to upcharge if you don't like fries. I loved my burger, mac and cheese, and coleslaw. The hot dog was also awesome. One of our friends said it is the best he ever had. I agree. I love the beer glasses and the bottle of water left on the table. They did a good job with the details here. You can also play pool here. This place is surprisingly inexpensive for the quality. Suck it Rogue Island. Skip that place across the street and just come here. Similar decor, better food and prices The downside is the wait was pretty long, with little communication about why. It was only after an hour+ had passed and we were getting antsy that we got any explanation. The waiter said they had a big party, but the place was not full by any means so they need to work out some staffing issues. It is new so that may take time. The only other bad part was some of the service. Now for the most part the waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. But he did make the mistake of insulting my friends. So they asked if they had turkey burgers and he said no. She said it is something she would be interested in if they were ever to add it. Some friendly feedback. Instead of giving a normal response of Yes I will pass that on to the chef or a similar polite response. He went on to say that no one has ever asked for it in the time he has been there and we are the first and blah blah. He was very insulting, as if asking for a turkey burger was the craziest thing he has ever heard. It should occur to him that most people will not make suggestions to the staff for the things they may like to see on the menu. Common sense. It simply means they are going elsewhere if that is what they want. We were all offended at his attitude. The management needs to train the staff better on manners and how to deal with customers because that was kind of shocking read more

G Pub - Gastropubs Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

Came here for lunch while I was in Providence. This place had a cool look to it and apparently it was an old Gas Company building. Lots of concrete. We were seated immediately because we were pretty much the only people in there at this hour. We were trying to figure out what we were going to drink, because it was 11:30 in the morning, when we saw it. Avast!!! On the Taps over yonder!! Many Heavy Seas brews to choose from!! Ironically they had a Heavy Seas tap takeover the night before and then our decision became much easier. Bring on the Strong Scotch Ale! Great brew, definitely give it a go if you see it on tap anywhere. Anywho, to the food. Since we went strong on the beer game I went weak with my lunch and got the ceasar salad. Nothing special here, standard ceasar, move along. We did order the BBQ nachos to start though, although our waitress forgot to put them in and they didn't come out until after we received our entrees. (This was bad because we were literally the only ones in the place.) No biggie though, we still jammed on them without question. They were good. I would definitely recommend giving them a go. Overall, had an OK experience here. Nothing terrible, but nothing that knocked our socks over. read more

I'm not sure what I expected when I heard the name GPub, but it definitely was not what I found. GPub is this interesting mix of sports bar and posh hotel restaurant. They have everything from shuffle board, pool tables, and karaoke rooms to big comfy leather booths and beer garden-like benches. There are big flat screen tvs plastered everywhere. Despite this feature, this can really be a place for anyone. GPub has a huge selection of beer, everything from Budweiser to beer that tastes exactly like rootbeer. The bartenders are friendly and helpful whether you want whiskey, a cocktail, or just a cold one. The food is absolutely delicious. Really gourmet food. Everything is tasty from their nachos to their dessert. The food is definitely not your typical sports bar food. There is a good comfort food selection, but the food is more on par with sophisticated hotel restaurant food. Overall, GPub is a nice place to go no matter what the occasion. Unless you are a big sports fan and ready for loud bros, I would avoid GPub on big sports nights. read more

Claudia was possibly the BEST server I have ever had here and I have been coming here for over 6 years. She was so friendly and gave us amazing recommendations. Definitely will be back to see her again! read more

A total rip off. We went there before going to ppac. My children took me there. Such a huge disappointment. So expensive and it was just awful. Soggy pizza, grainy humus tasted horrible with some jelly and a couple slices of bread. Caesar salad was soggy and lettuce was limp with soft bread croutons. Mixed drink has all ice and no alcohol. Our dog was with us and we asked the waiter three times for a bowl of water never got it! We will never ever go there again. Ruined our entire night. read more

Cindy is legit a fire server so good to us and helpful!!!!!!

I've been here before and everything was fine. I would actually recommend this place! However, don't find yourself there on Comedy Night (tuesdays?). The comics were making incredibly distasteful jokes including grotesque body humor, jokes towards the disabled, and even some slurs. The furthest thing from family friendly. Things I didn't want or need to hear while I was eating. Not to mention service during the show was slow, which wasn't a huge problem but still notable. Hoping these comics don't make a return. Again I can't stress enough that this place has been amazing during prior visits. Amazing food, great drinks, great atmosphere. But the comics should've been quality checked before being hired. read more

We went last night before a show at PPAC, and were grateful for the proximity, right around the corner from the venue. Cute atmosphere, our food choices were great (their fries were especially terrific), and they offered meat/GF/vegan options--displaying (in writing and in practice) thoughtful allergy & covid sensitivity. I ordered the vegan Banh Mi and could not have been more surprised at how delicious it was (I am not vegan, and had never eaten jackfruit like this). Noteworthy: Our sever, Nick, was pleasant and casual but not overly informal. He was attentive and reassuringly careful about helping us move through dessert and payment efficiently to get to the show on time. The interior was not noisy b/c it was early (6:00) and not crowded, but I imagine it could get pretty loud in there with the bar, TVs, pool, shuffleboard, etc. That was not our experience at 6:00 last night, but as someone who is very sensitive to loud restaurants, it would have made or broken our experience. The entire staff, from hostess to servers, took COVID precautions seriously, and that made me feel safe and comfortable going out for a rare treat these days. I would definitely return, and I would definitely make it my pre-show dinner stop of choice. My daughter and I would absolutely return. Thank you, Nick! read more

Mary was the sweetest and most attentive server she could possibly be. She was knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations were spot on! The Italian nachos, fried pickles, Mac and cheese, and cocktails were all delicious. We will be back! read more

Great place. Will come back. My favorite or second favorite bae I've been in the States. Family-Friendly. I liked the burgers, but my fave were the Nachos. And the service from both ladies and men, top notch. read more

One of the better affordable pubs to go to in Providence. It's very large inside with nice decor. There are a couple pool tables if you want to shoot some pool. As far as food, the burger is pretty good. Also had the truffle fries, chowder and pretzel app. Truffle fries have good sauce and good flavor Chowder was just ok. Didn't have.a lot of flavor or potatoes in it. Too much flower in the mixture. The pretzel app was good but not great. The burger was cooked medium and came out great. The beer selection is pretty good. I'd recommend the foggy geezer. Our waitress was very good. We'd definitely be back. read more

The food was really really good. Strong drinks. Nice layout, TVs throughout, and games like fuseball, pool & table shuffle board towards the back. They had a coat check, and after I checked my coat I realized it was pointless cuz you can just hang it on your chair. Maybe it's worth it if you're playing more than you're eating. We paid $10 to park around the corner in a lot. read more

this is our go-to location for dates and any time we want to take friends out. their drinks taste incredible, the menu is reasonably priced, the snacks are DELICIOUS, and the staff is always SO friendly. special shoutout to Danny and Jenn for always giving us a great experience! read more

We came here Saturday and our waiter couldn't have been nicer! John was attentive and gave us great suggestions on menu items. 4 of us got the G Pub Burger, which was cooked perfectly! My mom had ordered the short rib entree and they accidentally gave her the short rib grilled cheese. They were immediately apologetic, took 15% off, and offered to get her anything from the menu while she waited for them to make her correct meal. We were so appreciative of their great customer service. My mom loved her short rib entree! Definitely recommend coming here for a date night, girls night out, or family dinner! read more

G Pub has a beautiful open space, lots of TVs, great local beer selections, and creative handmade food options. I came here on a Wednesday night with a large group and we were easily accommodated with their large benches and booths. TVs were available at every site line, but against the wall they weren't too conspicuous if you wanted to ignore them. For fall weekends, they could probably carry your game with all the TVs available. The food options were thoughtful and creative takes on pub food. I went with the 'bacon kimchi hot dog' - handmade juicy dog, nice bun, and the bacon kimchi was a great twist. It was just the right amount of food - I didn't walk away feeling stuffed. I found a Pretty Things and a Revival beer on tap that I enjoyed, but they had a curated selection on tap and bottle. Overall the execution here was superb. We came for the Wednesday night trivia, which by the way was also high quality. If you're looking for a place to watch the game and try some pub food above the ordinary, give them a try. Your stomach and your wallet will thank you! read more

The concept and atmosphere at the G is fantastic. This is a great spot to watch a game with friends or play some shuffleboard. Their wings are okay, as are there burgers, but the food isn't very elevated, compared to standard bar fare. My gripe is with the staff, which is scattered and incompetent. You'd think putting your name in to wait for a table, on a busy day, was a wildly foreign concept to them. The Saturday day manager was no better; it was enraging. read more

Cindy was our waitress, the amazing service was undeniable, would certainly recommend.

We made reservations and requested a booth next to TV since we were going for the Patriots playoff game....we got it and it was the perfect spot to spend the next 5 hours (so we thought). We ordered our first round and they didn't have many of the beers that were ordered from the menu so the beers received were fifth choices, but okay. We ordered round 1 of apps (again didn't have what we wanted but we made due with choices). We were in for the long haul so we made sure to pace drinks, food, and many waters - as we approach halftime and our third hour, we finish our third drink. As we are about to order our third round of food and some more drinks we are told that the General Manager has cut us off from drinking as we had too many in a short amount of time. Needless to say, we were in complete shock as we made it a point to pace ourselves, order lots of food, (and Uber mind you). The waiter was fantastic and in shock himself, he mentioned that the people around us were double fisting beers so he was extremely surprised at the news he had to deliver us. The GM did not deliver the news herself and when one person in our party asked for her to come by just to get an idea as to what happened, she refused. We paid and left without a scene - one person did approach the GM on his way out and was very calm but certainly inquisitive about why we were cut off. She didn't really have a good reason, said we had too many drinks in a short amount of time and she'd been "monitoring" our tab - not sure why she wasn't monitoring that of others, but who knows. We were just two 30 something year old couples trying to enjoy a night out (away from kids and work) and this is what went down. We will not be back here and will warn others in the area as well. Hats off to our waiter who handled himself so well in such a difficult situation! read more

Love this place!!! The concept is so different from any other bars in Providence--in a good way! Bright, modern and fun atmosphere. Service has been great every time whether it be at a table or at the bar. Great late night snacks! Awesome beer and drink selection. Even wine on tap! This is my new favorite hangout. Very cool rustic-style atmosphere, along with delicious food. Everything was reasonably priced which caught my attention, considering most restaurants in Providence. G Pub is great. Whether its for a quiet lunch, dinner with friends or drinks at the bar. Food is tasty and the beer selection is great! We went here to try the wings for the lord of the wings challenge and haven't been here before. We were greeted right away and had no idea how big this place is! It's definitely a great location if you were hanging out with friends and large parties. They have a nice bar with a decent selection of beers (listed on untapped). Prices were very reasonable here, however, we had the wings (with a sauce that was made for this event only) which were good and also their spicy pickles which were delicious! The menu had a nice variety of pub food to choose from. They have pool tables, air hockey, shuffleboard and foosball available and of course TVs. I noticed that they sometimes have events such as acoustic Fridays, Tuesday Trivias and things like that! The place is clean and the staff are friendly! read more

Tonight was our first night at G Pub and we will definitely be back. I was with a party of 7 and we were sat immediately. Dave and Busters wannabe. The arcade games are really annoying. Food is good, but service was slow.

Cindy L was wonderful. Good food and atmosphere. Fun games and other activities as well.

This was an absolutely horrific experience with terribly aggressive and rude staff. We hadn't had one drink all night but didn't meet the "underage" aesthetic this place seems to aim for so they told us we were toon"intoxicated" and that we didn't fit in at the bar. They refused to let us play any of the games and made it incredibly difficult to sign up for a game of pool. The bouncer physically bumped the men we were with for no apparent reason at all but except to assert his own pathetic masculinity. I have absolutely never been treated as terribly as I was treated here. They should be put of out business for the way that they treat paying customers. I have half a mind for reporting them to the better business bureau. Being from Manhattan, I just can't imagine a bar in the entire city of New York treating me as bad as I was treated there. read more

In town on business. This place looked cute. Got seated, took a while for our server to come over. Turns out it was her 3rd day on the job, she made up for it. The manager comped our appetizer because of that. Unnecessary and yet greatly appreciated. My salad was great. Hubby's fish and chips was underdone, although the fries and coleslaw were perfect. Overall service was great. We will definitely be back read more

Food was average at best, best part of the meal was the fried pickles. two stars but since our server was very nice they get an extra star. The issue I have is when an establishment charges $14 for a garbage margarita. Just go to uno pizzeria for a $5 margarita which would be better than this. read more

Cindy L was great! The best service I have ever received at a restaurant. The food was great, I can't wait to come back.

First time here, a few things. 1) I didn't actually realize the bar in a basement so when I got to where my GPS led me I was super confused and ended up asking the lady at the front desk where G pub actually is located. (If you enter into a building where there's a desk just follow the hallway on the right through sliding doors and stairs to the basement will be on the left) 2) I found the drinks were average price. 9$ for a crown and diet- not super expensive but not wicked cheap either. And they put a considerable amount of alcohol in my drinks. (Not too little where you're like "well I paid 9$ for a Diet Coke" and not too much where it was just straight crown royal). I can't really comment on the food because I only had a "snack" there (it was really good actually). My only problem was that they closed wicked early that night (1? I think?). But all and all, it was a good experience and a cool place to go. read more

Great atmosphere with plenty of TV's for football, if you're interested, and pool tables. I went with my husband and we sat at the bar on a Sunday to watch the afternoon football games.
