The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and as a big coffee lover, I had to try the Turkish coffee, which I heard was bold and concentrated, I had to have another before I left. I paired it with a cheese borek and a beef pastry, both flavorful and reasonably priced. Everything was served with care on beautiful plates by the cashier, and to my surprise a gentleman even offered a light, pleasant lavender-scented perfume. At checkout I learned he was the owner and the cashier his wife, which definitely explained the genuine hospitality and attention to detail. I tried Turkish Tea for the first time; I don't drink coffee so I'm glad they have the tea option! It was slightly bitter and strong but paired sooo well with the turkish delight and baklava that I bought! I highly recommend the turkish delight - the pomegranate one was so so good and not too sweet! The blackberry and pistachio baklava was unique and delicious as well! I've been meaning to visit this cafe for the longest time but they close at 10pm. When I was finally in the area early enough for dessert, I was not disappointed at all. The interior is so nice I can hang out here for hours. The lady on the counter was so nice and inviting and explained all questions we had about their selection of Turkish delight. I've always been a fan of baklava so when I tried it in a different flavor, I was surprised at how good the variants are too. I was excited to try out a couple different baklavas including the double pistachio one. Unfortunately because it was late at night (8PM-ish), I think the variety of pastries was dwindling down. If I were to come back, I think I would come much earlier in the day. But I'm still pleasantly surprised that this bakery is open until 10PM. Both the baklava's I got were really good (the walnut and pistachio one). They're very sweet, but in small bites, they fill that after-dinner dessert craving. The chocolate pistachio cake was also amazing because it was not that sweet. The inside was less cake and more mousse, which I don't prefer, but I really enjoyed the interspersed chocolate-covered pistachio nuts inside. I felt weird about dining in because there was no music and no other customers, so we took our pastries to go. The woman at the register was nice & kind. I came here right before the new year with my family. We walked in right towards closing time, not realizing we were so late. We realized and said we would leave and sorry for the inconvenience, but the lady behind the counter insisted we stayed and to not rush at all. She was so friendly and kind and made us delicious turkish coffee. We got some items i dont remember the name but they were so delicious. The lady let us try free samples of turkish delight which was lovely and we bought two boxes. She even gave a free box. The service was amazing and the food and coffee was so delicious. I must write the good review on this place as this place is the reason why we need to continue to support the local business and the community! I was at home on thanksgiving morning and they ( I assumed it's owner and his family) came to knock our door and gave us a box of Baklava for thanksgiving gift. How lovely! As soon as I opened the box, the room is full of the wonderful sweet, honey fragrance from the Baklava. I took a bite of it and it's unbelievably crispy, flaky and it's just so many juicy layer of flavor in that tiny little piece, it's is really wonderful! I visited a few days ago because my mom saw a documentary on baklavas in Turkey and was obsessed with wanting to try. When we visited, the woman at the counter was so friendly and sweet. She helped us choose the baklavas/pastries. Interior was really clean and cute too, good place to come and do some work or catch up with friends (when covid/quarantine ends). They do allow some indoor seating now and there's also a couple of tables outside the cafe to enjoy your pastries and coffee if you want then and there. We got the pistachio baklava, walnut baklavas- wanted to try the chocolate one everyone raves about in the reviews but they didnt have any that day :(. Also ordered turkish coffee which comes in a really small cute cup and a shot of water on the side to cleanse your palette. (Tip on how to drink Turkish coffee: take gradual sips so that the grinds on the bottom dont get stuck in your throat lol, and then take a sip of water and so on so forth--this is what google taught me so take it as you will haha) Overall I'm rating this place a 3 because the service was great and the lady was really sweet but the baklavas and coffee wasn't that great as opposed to ones i've had before (baklava and turkish coffee). One of the best Turkish bakeries I have ever been to. They closed the one in Astoria, and I'm glad that this is still open. Selection is awesome, employees are very friendly and will explain you how the sweets are made, if you ask. Along with baklava, I always pick up their puddings. It's delicious and mouth-watering. Parking is very easy, have always found one right in front of the store. Give this place a try, you won't regret. This is a gem in Cliffside! We walked in because the business next door was closed. This was not like anything I've had in the area! The Poachas (not sure of the spelling) are the best I've had in other places and the nice lady there told us, they are from Turkey. Very different from the ones made here and now I'm obsessed!
