I am a big fan of this place. The pizza is almost better than Tremonte next door. The drinks are great and I haven't found a better drink menu in Lowell. The staff is great and they are very attentive. I go here all the time and bring friends and family. They all love it and ask to go back. Another plus is the fuse crunch burger. Fuse Bistro is a small but fun downtown Lowell restaurant. We called ahead to reserve a table outside, but they were not able to accommodate us. No problem really as the huge front door is left open on warm nights so you get a sense of the outdoors even when sitting inside. Our waitress, Mandy, did a great job. She was attentive and helpful and had a great sense of humor. Although we did have to wait a bit for our food, it was worth the wait. My Steak and Frites was prepared just how I asked. I don't like a lot of salt on my fries and made a request to go light on the salt. I didn't expect that they would as fries are made in large batches. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find my fries not too salty! Our friends who were with us were hesitant to go. They had been twice before; once was good and once not so good. They were pleasantly surprised at the service and quality of food. We will all definitely be back to Fuse Bistro. read more

Followed by the chicken Milanese which was to die for the perfect bite of juicy chicken with an insane crunchy crust. My table also got the steak dish and tomato bisque. The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is because of the service. I'm probably going to sound really picky, but from the moment our server came to our table, I felt like we were an inconvenience to him. I don't know if he made some sort of judgment of us (middle-aged couple going to cheap out on dinner?) or if he just had an argument with his boyfriend, but would it kill you to smile or act interested? He came to our table about 1 minute after we were seated, so we hadn't decided on our drinks yet. He didn't introduce himself or ask if we had been there before. He said he'd give us a minute to decide, but then came back after 5. He took our drink order, but we had decided on food by then, and he would have left if I hadn't stopped him to take our order. The food was really good - the fried calamari comes with fried pickles too, and I think I liked them as much as the calamari. It had a nice coating, and was cooked perfectly. Our entrees were equally as good - we both ate every bite - and we shared a dessert. Our server remained aloof, he dutifully checked in on us to ask if everything was ok, but did not linger or engage with us when we were complimenting the food. I gave over 20% tip because I was damned that he was going to think he was justified in being snarkish. We will definitely go back, but we are hoping to have a better server experience, and would definitely avoid getting the same one. read more

I've ate here 3 times. I love the variety of the menu and great downtown location. This is one of the better downtown restaurants to eat at. The menu has classic food "inFUSEd" with a twist. Every menu item is just a little bit different than the norm. I am only giving it 3 stars because each of my 3 visits there has been a common theme: cleanliness. The bar and table tops were sticky, the placemats had dry food on them, silverware had to be swapped out. It's tough to feel comfortable when that is how the meal starts. The Service has been fine and prices reasonable. There's a parking garage right around the corner. I would come back again in a few months... get a drink first to see if there's been an improvement. read more

I went to Fuse this weekend with two of my girlfriends, as we were looking for a nice place to sit outside. The atmosphere was perfect for a sunny day with friends. Two of us ordered the Cape Cod Burger which had cape cod chips on it-- SO good!! Probably one of the best burgers I've had and eaten all of in a while. Loved this place when I lived in Lowell. It's a nice, laid-back spot with a cozy feel. The craft beer selection is a draw, as is the food. Fuse has (or had) these great Asian glazed ribs as an appetizer. Every dish I've ordered here has hit the spot. They usually have something appealing as a special, too. Only once had a problem getting a seat: when there was a concert at night and one of the other main restaurants in the area was closed for the week. My daughter just moved to Lowell a month ago. So many places I want to try up there! Chose Fuse for our Mothers Day Brunch. 2:30 reservation for the 3 of us. Small place and full up when we got there. Seated by 2:40. Great menu..very interesting combinations of food. Started with a bottle of Prosecco which was nicely priced at $38 and a Fat Tire beer. We got a Lamb burger with feta and olive relish, an impossible burger, and the corn beef hash with eggs. There was no problem with making substitutions and the service was great even though they were very busy! When I got my hash I dove right in! It was so good with the eggs on top of perfectly cooked home fries (with onions :) ) smothered with a delicious sauce. After a couple bites I realized as good as it was there was no Corned beef hash. They took my plate to replace it. I had at least 3 people come over to check on me and apologize for the mistake. came out very quickly completely done over. Big pieces of tender corned beef! It was one of the best brunch meals I've had. Waitress checked back often to see if things were good. They ended up taking my meal off the bill which wasnt necessary at all! After three chances for lunch, I will not be returning. My first visit, the food was good, but service was seriously lacking; the waitress brought the wrong order to both me and my husband. When I went back a second time for a second chance, I noticed a lot of the same things form my first visit - dirty tables even though the place was not busy, and poor wait service (same waitress). After waiting about a year before returning, hoping there had been a staff change, I walked into lunch today to find dirty tables, the same waitress (although we thankfully got the other server today) and dirty dishes on the pre-set table. I ordered the special, which was brought out at just above room temperature instead of hot, and there was a live and moving inch worm in my salad. I get my veggies from the farm too, so I get it, but when I pay for a meal out, I don't want live and moving things on my plate that I didn't order. I appreciate that the server didn't charge me for my order. read more

We had dinner here the other night. The food was good, the drinks were strong and the service was friendly. We sat on the outside patio and my only complaint would be the chairs were uncomfortable. I had the lamb burger which was cooked perfectly and had a delicious feta olive relish. My friend had the crunch burger without any complaints. Both patties were thick and juicy. We each got sweet potato fries for $1 more and they were plentiful. Parking after 6 is free and on street so you may have to drive around a little. Great spot for people watching read more

I was excited to know that Fuse Bistro was in the center of Lowell since our city needs such a restaurant in the center of town. It was Saturday night and my first impressions of Bistro was that the decor was trendy and modern (all of which I like). That being said, the owner and manager need to think more about how to create more atmosphere or my fear is that people will not keep going to this locale in downtown lowell and it will fail. To that end, my major concern had to do with the service from the bartenders since bartenders and wait staff can create the kind of atmosphere that a visitor needs. In my opinion there was no attention paid to me while I was there at all; i felt as if I was in a mall browsing for items and no one really cared that I was there. In a mall this is ok but in a bar setting it is not. I wish the bartender had said at a minimum, " Good Evening, how are you folks tonight" " Is this your first time at Bistro?" or something like this. I was there for over an hour and the interactions were so minimal, not unfriendly but so minimal. By the way the food was very good. I had chicken wings and the beef burger. Lastly, while I was eating and drinking staff talked to each other, texted from their phones, ate at the bar and I felt really irrelevant ( and I have a tremendous sense of self and need no external support). I want to return since it is one of a few good sites in Downtown Lowell. Please address how your staff and ownership work with all people especially newcomers! Good Luck! read more

I'm giving this place one star based solely on their poor service. My girlfriend and I stopped in here one Friday night because we noticed they had outdoor seating. We sat down and waited to be served. After being ignored we flagged down a waitress and asked to see a list of beers since they have a nice collection of craft beers on tap. The waitress said she didn't have a list but we could go inside and read the chalkboard list of all their beers or she could come back and tell us what they have. She then disappeared into restaurant, never to return. We decided to go to the bar, order the beers ourselves. We sat back down outside and never once did any waitress ask if we were "all set" or if we needed anything. We were completely ignored and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

We went here on opening night and had a really good experience. The service was competent and friendly. They had a decent selection of beers on tap and a nice variety of wines by the glass. My girlfriend and I have been here several times (probably 7-8 times now) and have had pretty good food each time. The dishes have some creativity to them a seeming mix of decent pub food and some other dishes that might surprise you, and the quality of the ingredients is usually pretty good. The Cape Cod burger usually hits the spot for me, but the other dishes we have tried have been great as well. Always had good food when we come in. My biggest beef is the service. It is so hit or miss. More miss than anything else it seems. We are usually there when it is not terribly busy, so I really do not understand the service being so slow and/or lacking at times. This is not to say the service is absolutely terrible (never had any rude interactions) but it definitely seems the servers aren't as focused on their work as they probably should be. Menu has a couple of new things almost every time we stop by. We'll probably be back. They have good food, a decent atmosphere just the service needs work. read more

I live in downtown Lowell and have been here over a dozen times in the past couple of months. Food is great, carefully prepared, portions are large, and the lunch menu is an especially good bargain. Desserts are a little on the sweet side for me, but no big deal. Basically among the tastiest food in downtown Lowell. The bartending is so mediocre that I come here half as often as I'd like. How about a warm martini in a stemless glass? Ok, call me pretentious, but I watched my Ketel One martini half filled with some other vodka when the K One bottle didn't have enough. Very inconsistent bartending. The service is sloooow, almost to the point where we almost got up and left a couple of times. Yesterday, my waitress clocked out during our meal. Why do I have to go hunting for my server? I had other crappy experiences (umm, didn't you see that lipstick on the glass before you served it to me). If there is even a manager at this place I would fire him/her is a flash. But I think the issue i that there is no manager and the waitstaff basically does whatever they want. If the service and bartending here was a good as that at Centro, this place would be a winner. Bottom line: delicious and innovative food, mediocre bartending, pathetic service. read more

We had not visited the location in Lowell but have heard good things about Fuse. We went to the new location in Westford and were very impressed. The atmosphere is was very relaxing and not noisy. The service was excellent and very attentive. Now about the food and drinks. Absolutely 5 star. My wife loved the cucumber cosmo and my lady killer bourbon drink was fantastic. I had the fish and chips that more than I could eat. The French fries and cole slaw were equally great. My wife had the organic baby lettuce salad that was huge and delicious. The decor was contemporary and hip in a cool 'downtown style area' the menu was like they suggest upscale bar food -well done at that . Our only tiff was the parking , which comes with the city location; and the limited menu items . I as a culinarian know that limited menu means you can do those items well , which they did , but would like to see previous seasons selections . Tried to have a drink across the street at Tremonte Pizza. Caught in the cross hairs of two live bands.. Lousy band playing at Fuse drowned out the better music next door. After seeing multiple friends post about this local restaurant, I decided that I would give it a try. I arrived expecting a nice dinner with my cousins but these expectations were soon crushed. First off, the menu was very limited. After reviewing what little options we had, we placed our orders and anxiously waited for our food to arrive. To start off, we ordered the red curry chicken lime rangoons. Our appetizer arrived in approximately 15 minutes and was nothing spectacular. After that, we had to wait about another 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The tuna burger was okay. The sweet potato fries came in a small portion. The fish n' chips tasted like a fish filet from McDonald's - but much soggier. The pizza was something I could have made very easily at home. The food was average. It was really nothing special. Though the food was decent, the service was horrendous. Our waitress failed to give our party the proper attention we deserved. She never apologized for the long wait or informed us on the status of our food. When our food was finally delivered to us, my cousin asked if she could have some pepper flakes. The waitress kindly agreed, proceeded to the bar area, and started mixing drinks for other customers... After mixing the drinks she just stood aimlessly at the bar area. Needless to say, my cousin never got the pepper flakes. I will not be coming back to this establishment any time soon. read more

I too was there for the "soft opening" on 9/10/11 and ordered the calamari and burger w/ fries and was not disappointed. The service was good and Rene, the waitress, was very pleasant and respectful. Overall, the experience was memorable and Fuse brings back a necessary element to the Palmer St void that apparently existed upon Paradisso's exit. Hoping the quality of the food as well as the service stays well above par for some time. Kudos Fuse! My only recommendation would be to, if possible, have speakers on the outside so folks can hear what's playing on the inside. read more

Nice little restaurant; very cool drink menu. Came in later in the afternoon and it wasn't busy, so that was nice. We were told to seat ourselves so we did as instructed and sat for few minutes. A very friendly server came over after a fashion, and rattled off a very complicated list of specials with a thousand ingredients, omg - keep it simple please! We ordered the Chef's Burger, and got the Crispy Burger, which was ok. The calamari was excellent; we'll go back and make sure to order more succinctly. read more

I got the tacos of the day which were blackened tuna with shredded veg tomato salsa and crema. 2 hearty tacos, I'm busting at the seams. Cheryl the bartender was hostess of the hostesses to me and everyone. Attentive and super friendly. I guess I'm happy it was hot as hell and I opted to sit inside or else I wouldn't have had her service. The cocktail list was creative and extensive. I only went with prosecco and it was a nice sized flute.. No cheap skating. Can't wait to return and gorge on something else. My wife & I were in town for the Bay State Marathon weekend. Wanted to get some dinner at a place that wasn't fast food/chain restaurants. Checked Yelp for a go to restaurant and found "Fuse Bistro". Glad we tried it, one of the best meals we've ever had! She had tuna tacos, which she requested be cooked a little more than rare. They came out exactly as she requested. I tried the coffee rubbed sirloin and asked for it "medium". It also came out perfectly. We split the apple crisp for dessert & I had the French press coffee. Best coffee I've ever had & the dessert was the perfect ending to the night. We were served by Erin and I cannot speak highly enough of her! Thanks for a great night! Sometimes a restaurant has an off night and it's unfortunate when it happens to you. As visitors to Lowell for a conference, we chose Fuse based on the reviews from Yelp and other travel sites. We were seated around 8:35pm and the server finally brought us menus nearly 10 minutes later. We then waited over 40 minutes for the food to arrive (the excuse was that the pizza takes a long time to cook). We ordered the thin pizza which came out hot and we enjoyed it; I would recommend it. However, my spouse ordered the tuna burger medium rare (as recommended) but it came out very well done. The flavor was completely cooked out of it. We didn't send it back because it took so long to get food in the first place. The server finally offered dessert and coffee on the house, which we declined because of the late hour. While the service was extremely slow, she was friendly when she came around. Perhaps they were understaffed tonight. read more
