Grassfields reminded me, in a nostalgic way, of a restaurant at which I worked in my college years. The decor, the ambiance, the wine list, the service, and the menu items, all contributed toward that. I suppose "rustic" would be a good term to describe the interior. The menu offers steaks at prices you'd have a difficult time finding elsewhere in the area, plus chicken, lamb, veal, and interesting specials. Our large group was seated over two tables, which worked well for us in terms of quality conversation among interested folks. Service was quick, friendly, and professional, and all our dinners came out at the same time. We ordered a few appetizers. They were good but a little inconsistent. The mozzarella sticks, homemade, were a little unconventional, with a panko-mozzarella crust. Better, in my opinion, were the buffalo chicken tenders. I mis-read the description of my Argentine Bowl, thinking it was more of a salad. It was steak tips, avocado, tomatoes, and black beans over rice, quite tasty. The person sitting next to me ordered a dinner special the lamb shank osso bucco. While the meat was delicious and tender, it could have had even more seasoning on it, and there was an unexpected amount of fat on the shank. Parking is a little awkward given the shape of the shopping center, and the location of the restaurant. It was nice to see signs designating spaces closest to the restaurant reserved for their customers. This restaurant was the go-to restaurant for the family hosting the dinner event. Pretty good experience. I did really like the zucchini sticks. Better than others I've had and not super greasy. Not a lot of veggie options so I had the Greek salad which was good. I enjoyed the beets since you usually don't get those. The spinach dip was good too and pretty standard. Friends often meet there for lunch. Saturday's lunch was dismal. One guest asked for the gluten free menu. The hostess said, "We don't have one anymore. The waitress will just talk to you." The fish and chips: lukewarm french fries, fish was breaded not battered. No cole slaw. The friend who had a steak tips plate: looked like a child's portion. No veggies...just a potato The gluten free baked fish plate looked like hospital food. Service: brusque....not unpleasant, but not welcoming. And the check.....over $90 before the tip. We don't mind paying but we really appreciate a good meal. Crossing it off our list. There are many other better restaurants in that area. read more

Been more times than I can count! Today I had the Baked Stuffed Shrimp with the Florentine Rice which is great! Small shrimp but plenty for lunch today. My friend had the Scallops Florentine which I have also had and it's always good. The prices here for the food are very good and the servers work quickly especially Dawn, as she is the best they have here so ask for her! Fabulous food! My girlfriend and I met there for lunch on Thursday. We sat at a booth in the cozy bar. Our server was lovely Gaby, who was outstanding! This used to be one of my favorites in the area. The last 2 times, I have been disappointed with the food. Last time had to send my steak back since they didn't get it right the first time. Rice pilaf is my favorite side from their menu and both times the rice was undercooked and too much liquid. Yesterday service was good as usual. I had the marinated tips and they were cooked well rather than medium. I didn't send it back this time. So just paid and rightly tipped the server since it wasn't her fault. Driving through Andover and did a quick search of the area to find some grub. Grassfields came up and we decided to give it a try based on ratings. The interior of Grassfields is beautiful, not at all typical of most steakhouses you find in the Midwest where we live. We were greeted, immediately sat, and then met by our server Devon. First, she was awesome, super friendly and attentive. She brought us some bread and butter (which was delicious) while we decided on e entrees. We ended up getting chicken piccata and the charbroiled filet. Both meals came out quickly, had large portions and were equally delicious. When the bill came, we were pleasantly surprised to find that drinks and entrees were still under $50. I highly recommend you give Grassfields a try if you're in the area. I stopped by Grassfields with my boyfriend for dinner on Saturday around 5:30. It was pretty packed but we found parking easily and didn't have to wait for our table. Our waitress Nicole was very sweet and brought out our bread quickly. The bread is warm and fluffy but it will get all over your table. I had a strawberry lemonade (I love these) and the honey glazed salmon, which was perfectly cooked and so delicious. My boyfriend ordered the teriyaki steak, but they brought out steak tips. Luckily the tips were cheaper and they were cooked as he'd asked so he was just as happy. Overall great food and service, so I'd recommend stopping by. read more

Got here around 3pm without having any food all day. Needless to say we didn't have time to take pics of our food. The warm bread and butter to start the meal was amazing. I had steak teriyaki with spinach rice (YUM!) and my husband had the spinach salad with panko crusted chicken. Yes, we definitely have room for desserts with our only meal of the day. While the waitress was so accommodating and pleasant our biggest issue was the mixed drinks were weak we sent three back and we're credited for only two. The food ordered on two dishes were overcooked two dishes the meat was switched to the wrong plate. The manager never came over to the table to correct the issue and the assistant manager neglected to credit all three drinks that were returned. Two of my friends ordered the crabmeat pie & sirloin, I ordered the scallops & steaktips, and another friend ordered the large sirloin. Service was good, our waiter was friendly and attentive. I felt that everything lacked a bit of flavor. I squeezed a lemon on the scallops, and that's the only flavor they had. Steaktips didn't even seem seasoned (I should have ordered the teriyaki, I thought the house tips was the way to go). I tried a bit of crabmeat pie, and it was straight up crab, breadcrumbs & unsalted butter. I had higher expectations for this place based on reviews & a wait to be seated at 4:30. I love the surf and turf at Grassfields! However, when I went tonight for dinner, they ran out of Sauvignon Blanc wine. How does a restaurant run out of a popular wine? I came here for the first time last night and it was a very pleasant experience. The menu has a lot of options for food as well as wine, beer, and cocktails. Prices are overall a good deal given the quality of the food. I ordered the broiled scallops and marinated steak tips from the surf and turf menu. The scallops were fantastic - tender with just enough breading to give texture. The steak tips were cooked perfectly according to my preference (medium rare). I didn't taste much of the marinade but given the quality of the steak I didn't mind. Surprisingly there aren't many options for sides here. Baked potato, rice pilaf, fries, or seasonal vegetables. I opted for the rice pilaf, which was good but didn't live up to the "special" in the name. I have yet to find a restaurant where the rice pilaf is flavorful though so I would go with a different side next time. For dessert I got the mint chocolate chip ice cream pie to go since I was full from dinner. I had it later and it was delicious. If you love mint chocolate chip ice cream like I do, you'll enjoy this. This dessert isn't on the menu though so it might be a special. Excellent service and everything was clean with appropriate COVID health and safety protocol (staff wearing masks, distance between tables, etc.). I would definitely come back. read more

I was one of Grassfield's first customers and have such fond memories of going there with my parents, who are deceased. Tonight I went for the memories and was disappointed in my experience. The service was excellent but the food was mediocre at best. The salad was obviously made of bagged vegetables. The bread, which was once delicious, was dry, luke warm, and appeared to be stale. The serving of butter was tiny. I think the accountants are in the kitchen. My main dish, broiled scrod, was very good. It was generous in size and perfectly cooked. But I can do that in my kitchen. The quality of ingredients has declined. I'm glad I went for the memories...if I went for the food I would have left. read more
