As of right now. I wouldn't go there. I am boycotting them. The manager is obnoxious. He put both of his hands on my table. Pushed his bum back and talked to us like we were ignorant. Got takeout from Grassfield's yesterday. The Cheeseburger itself & the Baked Stuffed Scrod were good. But! the hamburger roll was stale & hard as a rock. The fries were limp & so salty that I had to wipe them off with a napkin and ended up throwing them out. Their "special" Rice with Spinach was not as I remember it, it tasted like Minute Rice from a package. Overall really gross & disappointing. It was like bad room service when you're on a business trip that you leave out in the hall after picking out the edible parts. Maybe if you eat in they are still serving fresh food, but I won't go there ever again. The ambience has an "active lifestyle nursing home vibe" and it's not a place that's kept up with the times. Bartender of over 32 years at that establishment, Tina Arone saved a life tonight. She noticed that a gentleman in the lounge was choking, gave him the Heimlich maneuver and removed the obstruction. As a regular Patron, it's nice to know that no matter what happens I'm safe in there. Staff is knowledgeable and trained. So when you go there, consider yourself in good hands. Steak for dinner this evening at Grassfields and it was not only a good cut, but it was cooked to order. A well done piece of steak (actually, it was medium rare as requested) with loaded baked potato followed an iceberg wedge. A step above fast casual, this is a decent restaurant and it was comfortable. Slick, glossy menus with fancy expensive drinks and a list of macro beers. But they had a good steak and my beer was cold so I'm a fan. Good seafood options at a good price. The interior looks pretty nice, I was seated quickly, and the service prompt. I got the Native Sea Scallops "rolled in seasoned bread crumbs and lightly broiled" which was a nice way to serve them where they weren't fried but it had a similar flavor, so I can hope they were healthy. There were 6 nice big juicy scallops and I substituted in a side of veggies (which were tasty but maybe a tad too oily). My boyfriend tried the Broiled Seafood Combo - Baked Stuffed shrimp & scrod. A good portion of scrod and 3 big meaty stuffed shrimp made for a great dish as well. For entrees under $20 they had good portions and taste. Only issue was finding it, as it's not right off the road but up facing a plaza, which I had to drive around before I saw it. Plenty of parking because it's a big lot near plaza. We have been to Grassfields quite a few times now. Firstly, the servers are fantastic!!!....They know their menu, and are right on the ball when serving you. Their menu is pretty diverse, with very reasonable prices. We have had Steak, Crispy Chicken Piccata, Chicken Parmesan and Baked Scallops to name a few. All were delicious. Their rice is legendary and baked potato was actually baked to perfection. They have sauteed veggies which are fresh. They have a side salad for a small up-charge and their house dressing is fantastic. The hot rolls make a perfect start to your meal. Not what we expected. The food was below average. The salad was iceberg lettuce with some carrot shavings a few tomatoes and a few slices of cucumber. The coconut shrimp were good and large. The bread seemed like a processed loaf. The meat was grizzled and fatty, not a good cut at all. The scallops are breaded and seemed like something from the frozen department at a grocery store. A long wait to take order? Meal came .... then requested bread. One brief encounter with her ! She chatted up all '"old" regulars. Service was mediocre.
