We were looking for an eatery close by that serves lunch and came across "Andiamo" in Andover and it was just 10 minutes away on I93 south right off the highway! We were greeted by Emily a pleasant Hostess/Waitress! Andiamo had a nice Pub atmosphere and we were seated in a corner booth! We started with 2 Martinis that were filled to the brim which Emily very carefully brought to the table so not to spill a drop! We had checked the menu online and were both interested in their Chicken Piccata which had gotten rave reviews from fellow Yelper's and that dish didn't disappoint, we both loved it, the chicken was tender and the pasta cooked perfectly El Dente, and it was a huge portion, enough to satisfy the healthiest appetite! For dessert we opted for the Tiramisu that we took to go! After we got home we were looking forward to our tasty treat later in the day! Since our Chicken Piccata entrees were so delicious we thought that the Tiramisu would be as well, it wasn't! We both agreed that it was the worst Tiramisu that we've ever had! Instead of it consisting of the traditional ingredients of coffee soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese and whipped egg yolks, it was like eating a three by two inch high square of cool whip that was topped with a sliced Strawberry, which BTW, was the only plus of this dessert! Don't know if they have their own pastry chef or they get it from a local Italian bakery but whoever makes this needs to be spoken to and at $12 a slice it was, to put it mildly, a complete ripoff! Just a few notes about their caymus and cutlets special. Went there last week and had this special. First the waitress asked if we wanted bread. She brought us a plate of the oil dip and said she as waiting on the bread. I assumed it was in the oven. We waited about 10 more minutes and she brought our meals AND the bread at the same time. HUGE pet peeve getting all foods at the same time. The bread wasn't really warm so my assumption that it was still baking was way off. She simply forgot us. And there were only about 8 other people in the entire place! The wine pour is 6 oz on this special so we decided to upgrade to 9 which costs an additional $5 each. The serving size of the cutlet with pasta was small, but it was about right for me. If you expect a large portion for this you might be disappointed. However, the chicken was also thicker than a traditional cutlet. Not thin and crispy. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The vodka sauce was a little spicy which I liked but I don't think is the norm. The worst part was the apple crisp for dessert. The waitress warned us the dish was hot, and it was! Unfortunately the interior of the apple crisp was actually cold. Not hot , not warm...refrigerator cold! We returned it and she brought us another one. It was warmer inside but it was literally all "crisp" and no apple! We found 3 small slices of apple in it. The rest was a bowl full of mushy overly sweet oatmeal. It was far from crisp and far from apple! We ate a few bites digging for more apples but gave up. I told the waitress and she apologized, however it remained on the bill. I've had dinner at Andiamo a few times and each experience has been great. The food and drink, service, and ambiance are all among the best in the area. Most recently I tried the Ficchi pizza which was an excellent blend of sweet, salty, and savory. The pizza is big enough to share with someone else or have by yourself with some leftovers to take home. I have also enjoyed the butternut squash ravioli and the chicken parmigiana. I enjoy the cocktails as much as the food. Their espresso martini is the best I've ever had since it comes with a double shot of fresh espresso. They serve it dark but can add Baileys upon request. There are gluten-free options for pizza and pasta which I have not tried but it's great that they're an option. read more

I was very surprised by this gem. Reading reviews I was expecting a little "mom & pop" cafe. Surprised to find not the case. I would call this more towards fine dining. If I had been wearing street clothes I would have been uncomfortable. The food was wonderful. We had the fig pizza, special ravioli and the burger. The fries were excellent. We were in town for a softball tourney and this place was hopping! I figured that many people couldn't be wrong, so we decided to give it a shot. It did not disappoint. My son eats the same two things everywhere we go: pizza or pasta. Those dishes don't typically come with a side, but here you can get fries with your pasta! It's the little things that make a kids day. My chicken marsala was good, but I've gotta skip straight to the dessert charcuterie board. The entry to the restaurant can be confusing. The door facing the street was lock. You have to go to the side door across from the daycare. It appeal to be a nice family establishment with lots of local customers. The food was tasty. the prices were a little on the high side. The portion were reasonable. The service was good. This was the last straw. My husband and I have been going to Andiamo's for years, it was our favorite spot. Something changed over the last year, and every time we go, it's gotten worse and worse. We went in on Saturday afternoon. The hostess, who was also our waitress was extremely overwhelmed. There were several large parties and she was huffy from the start. She was upset at the time, we got there at about 3:20 and she said she had a party at 4:45. I told her we wouldn't take that long, we never have, usually an hour, max. We sat down and she rushed us for our order (literally, the second we sat down, we didn't look at the menu yet) I ordered the antipasto plate, which was really good. We didn't know what we wanted for drinks yet, so we took a second, she was not happy about this. She came back about 15 minutes later, again in a huff, to take our drink order. We asked if we could order dinner also. We were trying to be respectful of her, and the party that was coming in next. I ordered my go to (Chicken Milanese) my husband ordered a burger * Well Done * this is important to remember. When the food finally came out, his burger was completely RAW. My Milanese looked like butter soup, to the point I poured half of the butter soup off of my plate, onto another plate that was on our table (because she didn't remove anything) I refused to eat it, it looked absolutely disgusting. Apparently, in the last few weeks they changed their menu and it now comes with a different pasta, and the sauce, which was once a white cream like sauce is now yellow, like melted butter, that wont stick to the noodle. When the waitress came back to check on things, about 15 minutes after the food was delivered, I questioned the changes (mostly the butter soup) and was met with major attitude. She tried to rush away, but my husband spoke up about his raw burger. She responded (again, with attitude) "I told them well done, that's not my fault" Regardless, his order was made incorrectly, and the butter soup wasn't what I ordered. I'm disappointed, this was our go to restaurant for several years. I don't know what changed over the last year or so, but those changes are not good. read more
