Food was ok and I like their salsa. Bartender was nice but she was a train wreck. Entire bar prep area was completely unkept and it wasn't busy at all. She kept wiping her nose with her hand (gross). The soda machine was "broken" (out of CO2) when she tried to pour me a diet coke and then the beer tap was also "broken". Food was ok but I wouldn't rush back here. Today me and my parents ordered takeout from tecate corona. I've actually been excited for this place to open for so long and have a place close by in Groveland that serves Mexican food. Unfortunately the experience was a let down and this will be our first and last time ordering from here. My parents placed an order for fajitas for 2 for them and a burrito bowl for me. When we received our meals we were disappointed when we saw mostly sauteed peppers and onions and virtually no meat. The chicken and steak were cut very thin and the portions were very lacking especially for a $50 order I would at least expect a little more meat in the dish. Oh yeah for my parents fajitas, they gave us 3 fajita wrappers for a meal for 2?! Flavorwise the food was average at best and tried to enjoy the few bites of chicken I had while throwing out all the extra peppers and onions I didn't have the desire to eat. Also it was kind of weird when my mother paid for the order and was owed like 50 cents in change and the girl working just said they didn't have any more change to give her. I know it's only 50 cents but the restaurant should at least have enough change to give back to its customers. TL;DR: you're better off going to a different local Mexican restaurant like burrito spice or even Qdoba or Chipotle. Found this little gem on the way to market basket. Decided to stop in and check it out! So glad I did! The service was fantastic, super friendly! The establishment was extremely clean as well. I had some of the best Birria tacos so fresh! Also, the drinks are great! Went to Tecate Corona at around 8pm on a Monday and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great and the burrito that I got was top-notch. I also got a classic margarita and it was made very well. The staff was very kind, attentive, and quick to serve. Loved everything about my experience there. Will definitely be back! read more

This review is much later than planned so will be amended on our next visit. What a treasure hidden in Groveland. We walked into an attractive, happy looking dining area and bar. The menu was large, many appealing dishes from which to choose. We both had entrees with shrimp. All was good but I didn't care for the black beans. Refried next time. I so wanted the flan which was not available but the owner brought me something else, just to try. He was so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is fairly new. I have high hopes for the menu to adjust as they learn what patrons request. We we'll definitely put Tecate Corona on our list of regular spots. And for what it's worth, the fajitas at the next table looked and smelled amazing. The prices seemed moderate for current restaurant prices. read more

I've been watching to see what would replace the sub and pizza place that was located at this address. I was beyond excited to finally have an authentic Mexican restaurant close to home. The food is incredible!!! I had to order takeout for now, but my husband did the pickup and said the atmosphere inside is "really nice".I both if us haven't finished our meals yet and I'm taking a breather to write a review. Stopped by to try out the food. It was exceptionally basic. I had chicken mole with rice, beans and coleslaw. The slaw was old to the point it was discolored and chewy. The beans were what you'd expect out of a can. The chicken mole was disappointing. Overall, it was like eating at a hospital cafeteria. The service is what I'd expect at a garage sale. Ordered a beer and she came out and set a can in front of me and left. The prices, though, are premium. My lunch was $22 and the can of beer was $8. Far more than my meal warranted. I've been there twice since it's been opened. And I am planning on going back often. As a Mexican American who knows what good Mexican food is, this is definitely authentic and delicious food. Service is great too. The ambiance is nice and I believe that it's only going to be better as they are having different types of entertainment on certain days. read more
