    a bartender serving customers

Brian has to be the best, most attentive bartender I've ever had. Truly a pleasure to be served by such a hardworking individual.

Our waitress was very friendly and accounted for our need to leave in time to get our tickets and still have a relaxing dinner. We arrived at 5:45 and were able to leave about an hour later, in part because we chose menu items that were slightly easier to prepare. We had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, the Double Smash Burger, the Volcano Burger, and Bangers and Mash. All four dishes were great, and the chef followed the doneness orders to perfection. We all chose to drink a glass of Josh Cabernet (offered at $11/glass, not available by the bottle). Given the price of the glass, and the relatively low price of Josh, I was a bit disappointed in the size of the pour, which seemed minimal. However, the wine was good. Each burger was well described on the menu: the mushrooms were crispy and generous, the onion rings on the volcano were ample and delicious, the smash burger came with cole slaw at the diner's request, and the bangers and mash were very good. This is a traditional Irish Pub, and there was a lot that we did not choose (but will in another visit). The bar is quite noisy, and we were somewhat protected by some privacy barriers. On the whole, a great experience and enjoyable.

During this meal we got the Bavarian pretzel which comes with cheese sauce and a few apple slices. It was very good like always and TSQ had a coupon for a free app if you are part of their loyalty program. That was awesome! I got my usual which at this location comes out hot, Salem, NH not so much - Baked Tortellini Bolognese which the menu details as: Braised short rib, sweet Italian sausage, whipped ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese. The wait staff was very accommodating with our need to split the bill across multiple cards and double checked who was on which check before we were ready to pay. Our food came out reasonably quick after ordering. I had ordered the steak tips and substituted the mashed potatoes with the Parmesan fries. The fries were good by pub standards, though they either weren't recently cut or they were frozen. The broccoli was pretty overcooked and lacking seasoning. The steak itself came out cooked a perfect medium rare (as requested). The only issue with the steak is that it was lacking tenderness. Good quality steak tips should be tender when cooked medium rare and these had a few tough pieces that had to be cut around. Overall it's a reasonable amount and quality of food for the price paid. Service was great and the restaurant was quiet, clean and enjoyable to be in.
