I asked the waitress which she would pick, Hot honey chicken or the fish & chips? I went with her suggestion and got the Hot Honey Chicken Stack.. it wasnt the best. Chicken was a little over cooked and I had a hard time cutting it. And the taste was just blah.. nothing special to write about.. Def pick something else on the menu. The others all got different things and they all liked there meals. The tater tots and sweet potato fries were great side choices. My husband got the steak and cheese crunch melt.. and I don't know if it's just cuz he loves food or if it ws actually good, but he devoured it (he did mention to say it was good). 2 others got steak tips with mashed and broccoli, no complaints and the other 2 got a club and a chicken ranch Handheld. They all enjoyed their meals. Service: its was mediocre. Nothing to brag about. Noone went over and above for me to mention about. Only one check back after our food eas delivered, until it was time to drop off check. Ambiance: its your typical American sports bar scenery. Huge bar throughout the whole place. Pretty busy. First time at this location on a Saturday around 1pm- the parking lot looked busy but there are many seats inside, including a very large bar. The food was great and came out quickly. We were seated outside, which was fine given the weather, and all of the windows/doors were open anyways, although I would've appreciated them asking us for a eating preference. Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Busy crowd but we were able to get seated in a decent size both right away for just two of us. Ordered up the espresso Martini at the recommendation of my friend who said they were really good here. Also ordered the buffalo cauliflower and a grilled chicken caesar salad. The buffalo cauliflower was insanely great. Great amount of heat and perfectly coated and cooked just right. Really great flavor. I would get that again and again and again. The chicken caesar salad was also really good. Chicken was grilled up nicely with the grill marks and all. Very most and delicious! Service was spot on. Very attentive, fast, and friendly. So, this was my first time here. I've been wanting to try it out for over a year. I'll start by saying the waiter was friendly. My decaf coffee was nice and robust.. very good, but not very warm. But thats okay. To start with, we got a side of rosemary/garlic fries. Pretty good, but I realize that while I enjoy Rosemary on my roast beef or grilled lemon chicken, I think it's too overwhelming on a French fry. But that's my personal opinion, so I would never hold that against them.. Now, my father got the Tuscan chicken. (I took at bite and thought it was very good! I'd for sure order that another time!) His mashed taters and broccolini were were pretty decent as well! As for me, I got the Ceasar salad with grilled chicken. It was just average. The grilled chicken was great, nice and moist with a grilled flavor . However the dressing was sparse and bland. All in all, not worth $20.00. I could a purchase a much better salad at Pressed Cafe in all honesty for less. *There was no salt or pepper on any tables.. & also, they don't serve bread and dipping oil or butter.. just in case you were wondering. Now, apparently you have to use your dinner knife to stir your hot coffee, for there are no spoons on your table.. isn't that strange? You will also have to request a straw for your iced beverage. When my server asked if he could get us anything else, I said: "well.. my salad is a little on the dry side but I guess I could use a bit of my dad's ranch.." BAR: Large, clean, comfy chairs. Wine is $17 for a 9 0z pour. Beer is $9.50. Selection of NA beers also. FOOD: Very good. Bang Bang broccoli is tasty, very filling. Burger was made to order and good quality. Thai chicken salad was yummy, and a generous size. ATMOSPHERE: The volume of noise was low when we arrived, but within an hour it got quite loud in there, difficult to have a conversation without shouting. SERVICE: Jessie was our bartender in the beginning and he is attentive, friendly and has a very strong customer service attitude. After drinks, he moved to the other side of the bar, so we had several other individuals order for us and check on us periodically. All very cordial. This was a positive experience, and I know things are crazy expensive these days, but for a good pub meal, our tab was over $120 after tip. The service was superb. The waitress dealt with our grandson's multiple questions very well. This is my third time having brunch here and I very much enjoy Tavern! The bar is well kept, staffed, and has plenty of room for anyone to stop in. Even when busy, the place doesn't feel crowded. I've never had an issue getting a table or a seat even when my trip was unplanned. For brunch, I opted for a single ricotta pancake, potatoes, and bacon along with a mimosa(s). The pancake was fluffy, but a little dry so I needed to cover it in syrup, but it was very edible and was delicious with the syrup. They serve these as a meal (stack of three), but one was enough for me. The bacon was VERY crispy, but delicious (i prefer a little less crispy myself) and the potatoes were very delicious and made with peppers. And don't let the mimosa fool you, it has plenty of Prosecco in there! Price wise, this whole meal cost me less than $30 before tip. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and really like dinning at the Tavern. Never a bad visit and I'll definitely be going back. read more

Can I give a place six stars? Let's start with the reservation experience! You can't do a large group reservation online, so I gave them a call and the girl I spoke to was so friendly. 100000% appreciated the heads up that they only do 1 or 2 checks for a large party, that gave me time to let everyone know to bring cash or Venmo. They also asked what we were celebrating, I laughed and said book club. She was so excited for us! The morning of the event, we were there a little early just chatting in the parking lot, but (I assume) the manager opened the door and asked if we were the book club. Welcomed us in, a couple other employees came over and asked about our club and what we were reading. We all ordered something different - lots of different cocktails and food, I had the breakfast skillet. IT WAS SO GOOD! Food is delicious. but I will say it's kind of insulting as a customer to ask for things, spices, boxes, the check, etc. then have the waitress chat and giggle at the stand with her friends while we're trying to leave. Went there last night to catch up with an old friend. The food was great and our waiter was great. But our table location was the worst. We arrive at approximately 4:20 pm. Not a busy time. The hostess offered us a high top but we declined and asked for a booth. She said the only one available was the first booth by the door. On such a cold night, single digits, the doors kept opening as more customers arrived. How was that the only booth. In those conditions we should not have been seated there. Nor should anyone else after us. I really think this hostess was annoyed that we didn't want a high top table so she made a bad decision. Love going to Tavern for the atmosphere! It's always really busy and the best place to watch a game. Food is ok, and service is good. Staff is always very accommodating, especially when we have big groups. Amanda the server has been awesome to us. She is always friendly, helpful, and gives great recommendations. My glass is never empty by the time she comes back around to ask if I want another drink. For food, the dumplings have been a great addition to the menu, and I often get them now as a quick light app. For food, I tend to go with the burger, the steak and cheese melt, or the chicken sandwich. All 3 are good bar sandwiches that tend to be heavy but satisfying. My wife tends to get the fish tacos or salmon which she likes. For drinks, I usually tend to stick to beer here since they have a great selection. I would get the espresso martini here but they don't give regular martini glasses, they give you the smaller ones so at $15 a drink, it's not worth it. Overall, it's a great place to meet up casually for some food and drinks, and the perfect spot to watch a game. I have been to three other tavern and the square locations, and the tyngsboro one that just opened up is pretty good . Their menu is a little different than the locations I frequent . The bajou chicken pasta is different every time but in a good way, sameish flavor profile but sometimes it's saucey which I like, sometimes on the dry side . The quinoa bowl is healthy & hearty and it's typically my go to. The restaurant is set up similarly to other locations . Great atmosphere, TVs playing around the bar area , good lighting . For me, service is a big factor in making or breaking a location. The servers at tavern Tyngsboro are extremely nice& attentive to your needs without hovering over your table every couple minutes. The wait time from sitting to getting your meal is fast to average dependent on what night you go which is good . There's a lot of options for all types of foodies. Would recommend ! read more

The food could definitely use some improvements. SOUTHWEST EGG ROLLS - I was so glad to finally see veggie egg rolls on a menu. The flavor was on point. Indulgent and so worth the calories. But they got cold and soggy by the time they reached our table. Crispy hot rolls would have been a treat to eat. BLACKENED FISH TACOS - My husband really liked these, the fish was crispy and well seasoned. Could use some more sauce. The corn salad it came with was delicious! KALE QUINOA SALAD- this was just not good. There was hardly any quinoa. The sprouted peas were raw. A friend and I wanted to have brunch and since this location recently opened, we figured we would give it a try. We both have been to several different locations but since this recently opened 6 months or so ago, it was the perfect time to visit. It was a cold but sunny day and a long week usI made reservations in case were for 11:30am. It was crowed but still had a few tables filled. They have a private parking lot which is extremely convenient. Food: the food was better than expected, I love when I'm happily surprised. We were both pretty hungry so went directly to ordering our meals: Bayou chicken pasta and Parmesan crusted chicken, both were great! The pasta has great flavor, seasoned well, creamy and spicy. The chicken dish reminded me of chicken Milanese, which is a fav of mine. Large piece of chicken with a nice caper sauce, chive mashed potatoes and red onions. Both dishes had great portions and the flavors meshed well. Service: the waitress wasn't too attentive, not sure if she was new. We ordered mimosas and she brought us out margaritas. We had to wait 10 minutes for her to return for us to let her know she got the order was incorrect. She barely checked on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything and our waters were never refilled. It's good to have options in this area for restaurants/bars as I've heard there isn't much. For our meals, I got the Cesear Salad with Sliced Steak & Martha got the Steak & Cheese Crunch Melt. She said her sandwich was yummy & took half home. We together barely made a dent in the 50 or so (roughly lol) tater tots that came with! Yay Tater Tots! Good booze list too. CON - While my Cesear Salad was good, I wouldn't get it with Sliced Steak again. I asked for medium & they came out as four or five unappetizing looking brown squares of VERY thin meat. Even Martha commented on how unappealing they looked. I'd get it with steak tips next time, otherwise the salad was large & filling. EH- for dessert we got the Flourless Chocolate Cake. Nice mousse on top, but the cake itself was cold & hard. Not awful, but not the best I've ever had by far. Just ok. SO- If you go, avoid the sliced steak. Get the Brussel Sprouts! read more

I never received my food in time but my friend that did receive his food said the burger was raw and could taste the blood when he ordered well done. My girlfriends and I had lunch at Tavern in the Square on Friday 10/11. We were all impressed with our meals. I had a burger with Swiss cheese and fries, that was cooked perfectly,, and included a generous portion of delicious fries. Another one had the quinoa bowl, that she said was fresh and delicious too. Two had the pizzas, which they said were excellent, and another had the salmon dinner, with rice and broccoli that she raved about. We all took boxes to go. Our server Annie was excellent, she was responsive, efficient, friendly - everything you want in a server. If you haven't tried the Bang Bang General Gao Chicken, you're missing out. The steak tips were made perfectly. The nachos/fried pickles are a huge hit with our family. Our waitress was amazing and the service was fast and efficient. My only complaint would be sometimes the music is incredibly loud. I really dislike having to talk loud to the person next to me. I highly recommend using Open Table to book your seat. I have seen people walk in and wait to be seated where as using Open Table, you sit at your call time. Menu posted on line does not match menu given in the restaurant. This visit the food was "ok" at best, price far exceeds quality and taste. We were introduced to this new cocktail tonight. It is their cocktail of the month. They do one per month the proceeds from this particular cocktail go to help out special needs. One of our bartenders was only on his first night. He was very knowledgeable more so than some of the past, and very friendly. The other bartender is a girl that we see often she has pretty much mastered her craft, and any cocktail she makes. She suggested the study buddy, with a cinnamon whiskey, as a twist, it was to die for. They did dim them the lights midway through our meal which made it perfect for our anniversary date night. First time in this weekend. The positives: staff was attentive and accommodating, the blackberry margarita tower was tasty. The negatives: my sister and law and I were served two rare burgers that were ordered as medium and medium well. Our server immediately brought the manager over, apologies were expressed, I was offered a new burger (which I declined) and my meal was taken off the bill. I was so tuned off by having eaten mushy meat, that I just couldn't go for another burger. Floor space is lacking in this location, the walkthrough to the bathroom is narrow and shared by patrons and staff whisking food out of the kitchen. The men's and women's bathrooms are so close together that at times you could be uncomfortably close to another patron if you happen to walk into or out of the bathrooms at the same time. The restaurant is LOUD due to the vaulted ceilings and open concept. Pricing is a bit upscale for food quality and presentation.
