With all the praise this place gets on social media, I expected better. After trying Luk's a few times wanting to experience all the hype, I can say that the food here is generally serviceable but I wouldn't elect to eat here regularly. The fried chicken wings and fried cauliflower were the best items. My party found all the food and cocktails to be very underwhelming and the steak on a stone was a straight disappointment. The Smashburger bowl was a great choice for lunch. My companions had the chicken Caesar wrap and the soft pretzel, both of which they were happy with. I just recently gone on a date to Luk's Bar and Grill and had an awesome meal. I think it was called Parmesan crusted chicken well, you get the idea. It was amazing! One of the tastiest dishes I've had in years! The broccoli was seasoned with a little garlic and some spices so it wasn't just ordinary and that made it even better. This review is for a private event space, not the main restaurant. A private room is located on the right side, interior door toward the back. There is a small bar in there manned by two bartenders. On-tap beers had to be poured at the main bar - one of the two bartenders would go get those. Coffee, soft drinks and a fairly comprehensive collection of liquors were also available. Several coat hooks line the wall by the room entrance. Two buffet tables were set up by the door in an 'L' shape creating a pathway into the room w/coat hooks on one side, food on the other, bar straight ahead. Five 10 seat, round tables were scattered around the room with one or two banquet tables along the far wall for display. An entrance to access the room from the sidewalk is also available so guests do not need to enter the restaurant to get to your event. Several platters mounded high with fresh fruits (watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew), two platters of cheese, two of crackers, chafing dishes of meat balls, breaded chicken, fresh veg platters several sauces, plates, napkins, cutlery were all routinely topped up/replaced as needed. Staff were very personable. They went about their duties without needing direction. clearing dirty plates and cups, asking if you need another drink. Bar tabs could be opened - leave your card with the bartender. The private event space was big enough for about 70 or so people. Maybe more, but with audio/visual equipment and display table plus standing room it was difficult to gauge accurately. They provided an over flow seating area in a section of restaurant just outside the interior room access. This was needed space and much appreciated. Staff monitored this space as well as the event room. Although not the event host, from an attendees point of view I would be happy to attend another event at Luk's. I understand they often host birthdays, anniversarys, baby and bridal showers, collation and more. read more

I ordered from the catering menu for an 11:30 pickup on Saturday. Got there at 11:15 not realizing it didn't open til 11:30. I waited in my car until about 11:25 and then waited at the door. I wanted to be first in line to get my order because I had to go set up at a venue for a birthday party. Front host let two of us in at 11:29. Went to takeout counter. Could hear employees in kitchen complaining about us being in there before they opened. Ok, well we didn't let ourselves in, your co-worker did, AND it was literally a minute before opening. The issue began with calling in my takeout order. The women on the could not seem to get my order correct... I literally had to spell out my order letter by letter. Then, I arrived and no one was at the takeout counter, After 10 mins of waiting, an older woman came out and charged me, and gave me half my order, explained they were backed up.... fine no problem, I didn't mind waiting however after 20 mins, she said my would be right out. Then I heard her yell in the back to the kitchen is that pizza ready. After waiting another 20 mins she reappeared to a takeout area full of customers and she finally gave me my order. 1st half of the order was cold due to the 40 mins wait for the remainder of our order. Just a side note when I spoke out to a male employee that there is group of us waiting for our orders a friend of the takeout women decided it was ok to verbally assault me. Since moving to New Hampshire we've been to Luk's a few times and they never disappoint! Today we decided to get a late lunch at Luk's. We decided to start with the Tater Kegs and Buffalo Wings. Words do not describe the amazingness of the Tater Kegs, think mashed potatoes with bacon, cheddar, and chives deep fried into pure deliciousness! For our main course I ordered the Pub Smash Burger, my mom ordered the All American Burger, and my husband the Smothered Steak Tips. Again everything was amazing! We followed up our meals by ordering dessert I ordered the Carrot Cake, my mom ordered the Apple Crisp Pie and my husband ordered The Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Landslide. Our waiter (Jj) came over to inform us unfortunately the Apple Crisp Pie wasn't ready and offered to put in a different dessert. We decided we would just skip the third dessert. When our desserts came out instead of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mouse Landslide our waiter brought out the Chocolate Truffle Bomb. He immediately apologized and offered to let us have the bomb on the house and he went to go get the landslide. Once again everything was wonderful. I would like to add our waiter JJ was absolutely phenomenal. We eat out often and both my husband and I are former chefs so we've seen many waiters who aren't very good. My Woodford's Old fashion was well made an a decent pour. On the " all important" culinary side, we were pleased with the home made truffle fries but they absolutely failed with my Parmesan coated chicken with the chicken being over cooked and dry along with finding several 1/4 in. size Parmesan rind pieces in the coating. Went with a group of friends. We had asked to be seated away from the music but when we arrived, we were in the room right behind the singer. It was extremely loud - we had to "yell" at each other and to the server. The server was extremely nice and understanding. She even asked the performer to turn the volume down a bit. So, the atmosphere gets poor marks. We all seemed to order something different. Most folks were happy with their food - lasagna and steak tips got thumbs ups. There were a few who were not - the macaroni and cheese came out lukewarm, my French dip was grizzly, and two of the pasta dishes were salty. We were visiting my parents in Hudson and decided to check this place out. We were pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the food. When we arrived, we were asked where preferred to be seated. It was a Tuesday night and they were having trivia. I'm an idiot so we sat over on the quiet side. We started with the "cauliflower wings" which can be tossed in a variety of sauces. We had our Buffalo sauce on the side. The cauliflower was perfectly crisped and seasoned very nicely. The breading was very light so it still seemed fairly healthy. For dinner, I got the Philly Cheese Pizza. It was awesome. The crust was crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. Cooked just right in my opinion. The veggies on it were all cooked evenly which I appreciate. My wife got the Cobb salad. The veggies were all fresh. The egg was cooked right (not rubbery). She got the barbecue ranch dressing. OMG that's some good dressing. I LG they put that as a sauce on a bbq chicken pizza, I bet it'd win prizes. The prices were very reasonable. At our weekly visit yesterday, we discovered that Luk's has added several new menu items. My ritual Thursday night meal, the excellent pastrami Reuben, has morphed into the real thing - a corned beef Reuben: corned beef, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and sauerkraut. It's even better now. Another menu addition is a delicious steak and cheese egg roll appetizer. How to decide? Simple, have both. Too much food for this geriatric? Doggy box...
