Rolf's pub is a quaint local bar in North Andover with all the bells and whistles. There are games for entertainment such as Golden Tee, darts, and pool. I've also often times seen groups get together and play cards. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are attentive and helpful. There's even a jukebox you can play music through an app on your phone. They also have keno, scratch tickets, and free popcorn machine to top it all off. Many locals frequent this pub and if you strike up a conversation with one of them you'd be surprised at how friendly and welcoming they are. My wife and I were looking for a local place to hang out and watch the Celtics on my birthday. We were referred to Rolf's Pub by a friend that is a regular there. We pulled up and the lot was packed with cars. We could hear the band playing as we approached. When we opened the door we were greeted by several people. We grabbed a hightop, ordered our drinks and thoroughly enjoyed the band. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive and the prices were fair. Both my wife and I agree that we will go back. Great people, great place! I was in town for a wedding at the Steven's Estate and came here after (11/11). The guys behind the bar couldn't have been nicer!! They even turned on their fryers late night just to cook us up mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. Fun, chill vibe and just the nicest people working there. Definitely recommend! read more

So an Asian, a conservative, and a Catholic (not really but wearing a Boston College shirt) walk into a bar and IMMEDIATELY refused service.......wIsh I had had a funny punchline. Whoa, the negative reviews are shocking! I'm from SF and my daughter is at Phillips Academy. I came for the (excellent) BBQ and stayed for everything else, especially Leslie (owner). So friendly, so warm, felt like a long lost friend - same with every single "townie" that came in. Also, I'm 100% Chinese and didn't experience a single bit of the sentiment that was mentioned in other reviews. Worst bar around. The clientele and bar tenders are rude. A friend of mine was sick for two days after eating here and as an MD, I have some concerns about eating here. The bar tenders only cater to the locals and regulars and will straight up ignore you if they don't know you. Avoid this place unless you are a North Andover townie. read more

Went for a few beers with work friends. Can't say anyone was rude and I'm definitely not a townie. Mike the bartender was great and inviting. Made us all feel comfortable. Went here last night & it was great. The guys working th bar were so friendly and helping with my keno & scratch tickets which is a huge deal to me. Seen a few too many fights here between the locals and old guys hitting on the bar tenders. A loud and immature crowd is sure to be the only kind if at all attending this filthy bar. They have big buck hunter and a ok selection of beers. The bartenders and staff are very flexible, they have always treated us well and have even cooked after closing for us. We were able to even bring in a pizza from another local place. The popcorn is usually stale, just a heads up. read more

This is a bar, bar. It smells like smoke most time of the time. For a non smoker, you don't want to smell like smoke from being inside. Some of the bartenders are personable while others should not be working with people. If they don't "like" you, they are jerks. Mike is great & the owner Leslie is a nice woman. read more

Worst place around -- DO NOT GO HERE!! The bathrooms were dirty and it appears that people aren't the only ones using them. I saw cockroach feces and rat droppings all over the bathrooms floor and walls. I am assuming the rest of the place was littered with droppings as well but you can't see the floor because it s so dimly lit. I was an exterminator for 10 years and I didn't even want to sit down after seeing that. Only a RUDE crowd goes here and if you are not a regular or a local you will get attitude from the regular crowd of drunks and you will receive poor, rude service from the bar tender... This place is THE WORST. I'm sure the two people under me are regulars just trying to flatter their favorite pit. This place is horrible -- I cannot stress that enough. Do not go here -- ! . Definitely a townie hangout. But 2 octoberfests for $7.50... Can't beat it. Also there is occasionally live music. When live music is not happening they have the music playing! There is a pool table and three dart boards. If they are open they are free to play. Great place to get some brews and bottomless bowls of popcorn! read more

Came into town to visit family/ the area. We were looking for somewhere to grab a few drinks and were treated TERRIBLE. The bartender was a complete jerk and did not want to service us because we weren't the "typical townies" that show up there. Very small townie bar. If you aren't from the area they will not make you feel welcome. Bartender was very rude and refused to serve us alcohol due to our out of state licenses (everyone in my group was 25+). I actually really dig Rolfs. Its a simple cheap place where you can grab a beer, play some darts or pool, or take a turn at the Big Buck Hunter game. You won't find anything fancy and there will definitely be a few old drunk townies at the bar but they're harmless. Try to avoid the bathroom if you can though, it isn't the cleanest.
