Usually I'm really opposed to chain restaurants. The 99 blows all other chains away - it has always been and will always be one of my favorite places to eat in Andover. The food is affordable, fresh, and well made. You are always served popcorn (sometimes crackers and cheese) when you sit at the bar or table. Staff is always friendly and personable. Their Horseshoe Lager is bomb. Drink it. Tall glasses of beer are served in a large, frozen mug - the ideal way to drink nearly any beer. Boneless Buffalo wings are tasty, crisp, light with a hint of spicy. My favorite has always been the chicken broccoli and ziti meal. The only alfredo I'll eat as I find most either two heavy or too salty or too something. Go to the 99. Eat at the 99. Love the 99.

Black hair in my food for the second time in one visit
    Samantha T.

Me and my family went here for an early Christmas get together. Our waiter was very nice, and everyone was very friendly.. however when I received my meal I found a black hair in the gravy of my mashed potatoes (we are all blonde so it wasn't from us). The waiter apologized and brought me a soup while they made me a new meal, which I was perfectly happy with! I was too full after the soup to eat my meal so I boxed it and brought it home and when I opened it to eat it at home there was another hair): disgusting... one time I can get over, but two times is just unacceptable

    Staple

I ordered food to go the other day for my family. I got a dessert for each of us including one for my two year old son. Luckily he didn't feel like eating it the other day so I put it in the fridge. Last night I decided to eat it instead. I took a few bites and thought maybe a piece of frosting had hardened while in the fridge. To my disgust I found a staple in my mouth. All I can say is thank god my toddler didn't want dessert that night. The Andover branch needs to get it's act together. This could have ended very badly. We've had bad meals here in the past but this was bad enough that I felt I had to warn people. Be careful eating at this branch

They're always experimenting, and I've also been thoroughly impressed with their stouts, sours, and pilsners. 5 stars on the beer alone. For those who know the brews but haven't been to the Tewksbury location: come! Enjoy! The Clubhouse taproom is spacious, lively, welcoming, and run like a well oiled machine. Show your ID, get a bracelet, and the staff will pour whatever, and it'll be sublime. Drink it to wash down one of their tasty house-made pizzas; honestly, the pizza kitchen is far better than most local "house of pizza" places, and could probably survive as a business on its own. Give your order and you'll get a text when it's ready. Then enjoy the pie, which features a crisp, well seasoned crust with a nice chew. I had pepperoni with hot honey and a side of ranch dipping sauce; never thought I'd gush about ranch sauce, but damn, it's seriously good. Wrap up your visit with a to-go order of cans from their lengthy beer menu. No, it ain't cheap. Yes, it's worth the price. All in all a great chilling with beer and pizza experience, and a welcome addition to the northern burbs.

We've visited several TreeHouse locations over the years: Charlton, Saratoga, Deerfield, Sandwich,…read moreand now Tewksbury. We were in the area running errands and decided to make an afternoon of it. The beer, as always, speaks for itself and is the reason people make the trip. We also knew better than to take our chances with the pizza/possible wait - even on a Monday afternoon - so we picked up sandwiches from a local deli first. I'm glad TreeHouse allows outside food because that worked out perfectly. What prompted me to write this review, though, was the cleanliness of the Tewksbury location. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired. I'll agree with other reviewers that the place is full of unsupervised kids. The result is that there were large smears all over the windows in at least two locations - noticeable enough that I was surprised they didnt catch the attention of the staff and hadn't been cleaned as they happened. The bigger issue was the restrooms. The two bathrooms off the main beer hall have a very strong urine odor, the kind that suggests they haven't been thoroughly cleaned or sanitized in quite some time. It was so unpleasant that I opened each door, turned around, and decided to find another restroom upstairs instead. Unfortunately, that wasn't much better. The upstairs restroom door was difficult to lock and wouldn't stay latched, which made for a pretty awkward experience. TreeHouse has built an incredible reputation for its beer, and we've enjoyed every location we've visited (some are definitely better than others). A brewery that attracts this many visitors should be paying closer attention to the cleanliness and maintenance of its public spaces. And yes, the mini sign in the lobby that suggests that kids need to stay with their parents is worthless. Please parents, remember this is NOT a pizza place that serves beer. It's a beer hall with a pizza oven.
