Had a family get together for dinner and drinks. Atmosphere was really good and drinks were reasonable.

Several friends and I held a mini high school reunion at Attika yesterday for lunch. we had a wonderful time and highly recommend this restaurant. The food was yummy and the service was exceptional! The owner came over to our table to personally greet us. She took the time to describe the different dishes listed on the menu in addition to the day's special. In addition to the 2 appetizers we ordered to share, the kitchen sent out a plate of fried plantain for us to taste. Four of us ordered the special, grilled chicken breast or salmon, rice, beans and a side salad, all for less than $12! Another of us ordered a Caesar's salad with grilled shrimp. All the portions were huge and very delicious. For dessert, we shared a plate of churros drizzled with chocolate sauce, also incredibly delicious. Largely overpriced for what you get. Ordered 10 Oz skirt steak chimchurri. $30 There was no chimchurri sauce. Came with rice and beans and iceberg lettuce with oil and vinegar drizzle. $15 meal at best. Drinks were awful. Tried a Margherita and a Passion Fruit Mojjto. Was there month ago on a Friday or Saturday for the first time and it was welcoming and enjoyable. Awesome bartender he was friendly and drinks were excellent! Was just there today on a Sunday and they were rude uninviting and racists. Very unappealing and unsatisfied with their attitudes. I could go to Harlem New York and be treated better by everyone there outside and inside. Ive been to Mexican, Indian and African places that are much more accommodating and treat you like family. Food was good though but ill just go to my friends abuelitas. Even the kids were traumatized. And the Dj was trash . Get better equipment and some damn manners and respect. read more

We went here for the first time on 9/12. There weren't many people inside so we sat by a window in a quiet corner and ordered drinks (in English). The waitress, Carolina, was a little slow but efficient, however I noticed her struggling with English. She seemed to be very attentive to the other party of folks inside as well as the tables outside, so we didn't see her often. When she came back I placed our food order in Spanish, partially to make her more comfortable but more so because I have a food allergy and wanted to be clear. I noticed at one point that she seemed to be the only waitress working so I gave her a bit of a pass on being slow. The drinks were good and when the food eventually came it was "okay". When we finished I asked for the check, and that's where there was a problem. I pulled out my card to pay the $85 bill to see that our table was named "Morenos" or "the Blacks". I'm pretty confident that had I spoken in Spanish first we would have been "table 17" (or whatever) and refuse to believe that this restaurant seats people at tables by race; yet that is how we were seated. Maybe Carolina doesn't understand that the main difference between us was that the slave ship stopped at her island first. Maybe Carolina doesn't realize that colorism is a major issue that goes hand in hand with racism. Maybe Carolina thinks that because she is not white that her actions are okay. I don't know. What I do know is that in that moment I was angry, hurt and embarrassed all at the same time. Now I'm paying attention to the fact that we were on one side of the restaurant alone in a corner while others were elsewhere. I'm noticing how much longer it took her to come check on us while she seemed to have plenty of visits to the other tables. I'm wondering if it is a normal practice for them to include an automatic 15% gratuity for a party of 2. This one classification made me notice a few more things. At that moment I made the decision to put my additional $25 tip back in my damn pocket. Here I was feeling bad that she was the only waitress and was willing to give her a larger tip meanwhile she categorized me. How dare she? In my mind I was originally planning on going back to Attika when things were back to normal, I've made a promise to myself that I will not only never return but will make sure that EVERYONE I know is aware that this is what is to be expected at Attika. I am usually a frequent Attika customer today me and my best friend who is also a casual customer came in and orders a cheese platter we had came back in 11/25/2020 and got an amazing plate but today i was not satisfied with the spread of cheeses presented as well as the meat did not look anything like we had ordered before much more like a knock off of what they even had posted on their website all in all i usually love going to eat at attikas this day i was 100% unsatisfied and would have preferred to be told they did not have this so that i could have picked through other options instead of putting together something like this. read more

Friendly staff. Nice ethnic restaurant and night club. Although night club closed for COVID 19. Drinks are cheap but food is terrible and they charge 15 percent automatic gratuity on bills over $50. Not common practice in United States but I guess in Lawrence you are in different country. read more

Great atmosphere, and the best Korean food I have ever had! Well, it wasn't really Korean... I googled Korean food, and Attika came up. Not knowing any better being here from out of state, I just came in and said, "what is good"? I was greeted by a very fun and engaging staff member, and she advised me on what dishes would be good. I tried their flank steak and chicken, and also had empanadas. The empanadas were a huge surprise for me, and quite delightful. The main dish was also excellent, and I especially liked their strawberry lemonade. You should try this Korean restaurant too, just be sure to be flexible on what Korean food actually is, as it seems that Korea has a few Caribbean islands off there coast too... ;) read more

We only came for drinks & an appetizer so I can't review on any of the meals but omg this place makes the best mojitos in the states. Maria is the one who made ours and they are to die for! She's also super nice and friendly too. We also got the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp was huge. So delicious, we will definitely be back! read more

Went to Attila for the first time on a Saturday night. Located in a beautiful old building in downtown Lawrence, there is nearby street parking and a small adjacent lot. Although there are a couple of parties with small children, I wouldn't consider this a place to bring them. This is more of a bar/club with great food. The menu has a good mix of meat choices. Our waitress, Maria, was excellent explaining all the dishes and making recommendations. The Mojitos were great. All around nice experience. read more

It is the place to be - was there was on a Friday night, DJ was on top of it. Great crowd, females dressed to kill "as usual." The place has a down stairs to sit and eat, even though I didn't venture it. You won't go wrong for sure going there on a Friday night. read more

Unfortunately, this is a restaurant that is not recommended. The waitresses and managers are new and the wuality of service has hit rock bottom. The waitresses are rude, not attentive, and inappropriate. From the extreme wait for the order to being passed by the waitress multiple times without an update or checking if we want anything else. Oh, don't ask for anything other than beer or straight liquor. If you want that great martini, be ready to drink a Margarita mix in a martini glass. Oh wait, don't pay with a credit card. After waiting for over an hour for a cold salad, cance the order and requested the bill. I signed a bill of $53 and my credit card statement indicated a charge for $93. The additional charge was the food order that was cancelled. Besides the bad service, the priority of delivery orders above dining in orders, distasteful service, and margarita mix in martini glass, the bill you sign is not what is charged. The key take aways- dont choose to dine in, if you do - be prepared to wait an extremely long time for your food ( don't be hungry), bring cash to pay your bill, and don't get a martini.
