I am so psyched Fuse moved into the old Paridiso space. I teach at Middlesex Community College 1 night a week just down the street and was looking for a good alternative to Fortunato's and the Smokehouse. I've been in Fuse probably about 5 or 6 times now, all on Tuesday nights. Mostly just for a beer after class. However, I started sampling some of the appertizers and got hooked. The calarmari was sliced on the thin side, lightly battered and fried to a crisp finish. it was served with chive aioli and sweet chili dipping sauces. It's excellent!. I've also have had the salad, also very tasty. The Thin crust pizza is just that, but I feel it is exceptionally prepared; crunchy with great flavors from the cheeses and basil. Perfect with one of their carefully chosen reds. My favorite dish by far is the Steak Frites. I'm not sure what cut of meat it is but it eats like a tenderloin and comes with red wine demi. I've had Steak Frites at some the best known restaurants in the Back Bay and in Cambridge and this is by far the best. Oh I forgot to mention it comes with truffle salted fries. All this for $16? I've only been there on Tuesday so the atmosphere has been pretty dead, although recently there have been a few office parties. The room is relatively small and is on the dark side, which I find intimate. It's clean and modern as well. I find the service is good. I noticed one review about the the servers and bartenders not being engaging and I'm not sure that's fully accurate. I like to chat it up with the staff and they are friendly, but a little more interest is always nice. By the way, every time I've been there, one of the co-owners (Melissa) has been there and has always taken the time to talk to me. I'm so close to giving this another star, definitely one of the best restaurants in the Lowell area. I can't wait for the summer and dine outside. read more

Such an awesome find! Came light night for dinner with my husband... Crab rangoons steak frites and filet are all amazing. Would've given five stars if we weren't completely ignored at the end of our meal. We had to flag someone down to get the check from our server... We went here last week with another couple. We started with the BBQ chicken pizza appetizer, and that was great. The pumpkin martinis were pretty good, too. Our Fuse Crunch Burgers were delicious, and I heard the Braised Boneless Short Rib was great. But the best compliment was for the Crispy Cod Fish "n" Chips, because our dining partner said they were the best he's ever had. We absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious, the drinks are incredible, and the staff is quite friendly! The food rotates by season, and offers a variety of foods made with fresh, local produce. Their specialty drinks also rotate by the season, and offer special house-infused alcohols. The boyfriend and I go here at least once a month to dine and have a drink or two. This is a gem of downtown Lowell, and you should go and eat there! (Seriously.. go for the french fries alone. Following a good experience with lunch, have now gone to Fuse twice for dinner. As with the lunch menu, the dinner menu is not extensive but, by doing a smaller number of dishes they increase the likelihood they will be done well (they are). The lights are low at dinner, adding to a pleasant ambiance of the brick and wood of the historic building. Service can be a bit pokey, but friendly. Fuse is a great addition to the downtown dining scene and will offer great al fresco dining opportunities when the warm weather returns! read more

Easily one of the best places in downtown Lowell to get a consistently good meal. Their drink menu is fun, and food menu is updated regularly with seasonal stuff. In the summer, the big doors open and sidewalk seats are added and its a nice spot on the corner of a cobblestone street. The food was excellent and well prepared. The portion size was just right. They were not too small and perfect for the adult. I had a bit of everyone's meal except my niece who finished her fish and chips before anyone realized it. I had the short rib Mac and cheese and it was very good. My wife had the burger and sweet potato fries and loved it. My sister in law had the tuna burger and was not impressed. I tried it and had to agreed, the description led us to believe it was going to be different. That was only one meal out of 7that was not to our liking. Over all a great place. The tables and floor were clean and was looking for it since I read another review that mention something about it. The wait staff was very patient since we had a baby with us and children. I am at fuse right now and thoroughly enjoying my stay. From the bread to my lunch everything is delightful. I got the baby mixed green salad with chicken and my friend got the crunch burger. Both absolutely delicious. Even the fries were cooked to perfection. We also got two drinks. One was a raspberry margarita and the other was a painless Brazilian which is technically a caipirinha. I know/ make my caipirinhas very well and the bartender did a phenomenal job on it. Our server is very nice, upbeat and friendly. She was on top of her game even though the lunch shift can get slow and service sometimes fades during that time. I would highly recommend this place to others. One of my absolute favorite restaurants ever! My boyfriend and I were regulars when I lived across the street and now when we are contemplating where to go for dinner at least one of us complains about not being so close to fuse anymore. The food is unique and absolutely delicious and an amazing price for what you get. The bar tenders are phenomenal and have always been super helpful when it comes to my food allergy. The drink menu is also just as unique and amazing as the food with house made infusions and perfectly crafted cocktails. Eight of us went here for dinner last night due to a friends suggestion. We were not disappointed! Let's start with the neighborhood. This place is on an old cobblestone street surrounded by mom and pop restaurants, shops, coffee house, no commercial businesses which is so refreshing. We sat outside which was clean, quiet, and very relaxing. Onto the menu. It's not 10 pg's long which is always a good sign. This restaurant is more of a farm to table, serving up local produce that's in season. My husband and I both got the tuna burger which was fresh, cooked to perfection, and delicious. Sweet potato fries were great. They serve bread and a garlic/rosemary infused dipping oil which is a nice touch. Our waitress was really friendly and accommodating regularly refilling our drinks and ice waters which seems like a small detail but much appreciated as it was 90* out. Fuse is, along with Centro and Cobblestone's, one of Lowell's better 'American Bistro' style restaurants. Of the 6+ times I have been to Fuse I have never been disappointed by the quality or creativity of the food. That is not to say the food is profound, but rather, far better then other closely priced offerings in the surrounding area. They have a decent beer selection with rotating taps (which seems to be a necessity in this beer-loving era) and the drinks are robust (great if you're walking home). I would have attended Fuse more often when living in Lowell had their service been better. Good food, good atmosphere, good drinks ... and yet a critical element was missing: a waitress/water who seems to give a damn. Good news! On our last visit to Fuse it appears as if they've addressed this issue. The waitress was attentive (but not overbearing), professional, and generally pleasant. read more

Aside from menu changes that reduced the quality of certain meals (hint hint chicken and waffles), changes in management have resulted in a severe change in the level of service. The new servers are unfriendly and not very knowledgable. Unfortunately, we will be dining elsewhere following this experience. I believe customer service is a very needed aspect of the restaurant environment. These people would be better running a flea circus on their best days. My waiter was the most miserable person I've ever met. The passive aggressive tone of him was just awful! The chicken was under cooked and the fries were too salty and tasted as if they were cooked in 3 week old grease. Not to mention how the owner came out in his chef's jacket and smelled of old onions.
