Not a happy camper here. My son, who was watching my miniature schnauzer for me for the last 9 months until he could be sent to me here in Japan, took him to this establishment. He said he'd taken my boy there before and the cuts were always good. However, when my boy showed up here to me, I was shocked that they had cut off his schnauzer skirt with the hair down to the skin and all his leg hair as gone too. He looked terrible. Not Schnauzer like at all! My son stated he asked for a short schnauzer cut and he came back with no schnauzer skirt or hair on his legs. When I return to Phoenix, I will not be taking my boy to this establishment. I'm not trying to bash them, but I just don't understand how a short schnauzer cut is interpreted to mean being trimmed down to the skin. read more

Furry Beginnings was excellent they made my schnauzer look like a new man! They did excellent with his cut unlike others I had previously went to they also took the time to clean his teeth and ears which other places seem to skip. Plus on top of all of that he was in and out in 45 minutes which is unheard of since most places usually spend all day with my pup. read more

Great Experience for my two Labs! Tried this place for the first time today with my two labs. One of which is an anxious pup. When I arrived to pick them up they were both relaxed laying in the front area waiting for us. They smell wonderful and feel super clean. My black lab is super shiny too! If I could give a negative star rating I would. The treatment they gave our puppy was ridiculous taking her straight from a bath soaking wet and locking her in a room. The haircut is the worst I've ever seen, my dogs hair is patchy and still dirty. I'm going to have to take her to another groomer just to fix the mess that was created. BEWARE!!!! I have tried this place a few times thinking that maybe the employee was new or maybe I hadn't communicated my expectations clearly however today was awful! My Old English Bulldog went in for a bath, clean up, nail trim (bronze package) He got a great bath and smells good however his nails are rough ( they were suppose to grind them and didn't) and his ears didn't get touched. My second dog is a schnau-tzu who weighs in around 5 pounds. I asked for his hair to stay long (teddy bear) style however he got chopped (REALLY BUTCHED) The stylist Darci told me that they only trim the body with electric clippers. I found this concerning as this has never been the case with any groomer before. I just paid 49.00 dollars for my dog to be fully groomed not to have a clippers raced around his body. I took my yorkie here because I was very disappointed with PetSmart on power and ray rd. My yorkie is only one year old and very hyper(PetSmart is not experienced enough to groom him). I am so pleased with Furry Beginnings. They are so friendly and professional. They made me and Max(my yorkie) feel so special and they did a nice job on grooming him. We have taken our dog here several times and had great service. However today, I confused my appt time by half an hour. As soon as they called, I got the dogs in the car and headed straight there. I called to tell them we were in route and would be there in five minutes. At that point, the lady on the phone told me that we missed our "ten" minute window and they were canceling our appt. I told her that was horrible customer service and that they lost our business for good. Her reply for me was "that's fine" and she hung up. I have no desire to give my money to a company that would treat their customers this way and not even care if they retain our business. On the flip side, if they had taken us and worked with us even though we were a little late, the groomer would've earned an extra tip for great customer service. I brought my great dane to use the self wash station and absolutely loved this cute location! I am so glad they opened in Gilbert. The owner gave me a tour and explained everything thoroughly, and was very friendly. She even helped give my big girl a boost into the tub as she was a little nervous at first but she also really enjoyed the experience. They provided all natural, hypo allergenic shampoo and conditioner and my dog is so smooth, soft, and smells great! This is definitely worth taking my dog here for her baths because I don't have to worry about cleaning up puddles of water at home. The spa provides aprons for the owners to wear which is a nice touch. I also appreciate the front gate area so there is no chance that any dogs can escape out the front door. read more

I really hate giving a low review because the people are so nice but the results force me to. I brought my Maltese into here for the full Gold grooming package. The we very friendly and it was well priced. The problem is once we got her back. She wa cut much shorter than we wanted, which isn't that big of a deal. The problem began that night when she started scratching and gnawing on herself. We stayed up most of the night just trying to keep her from itching herself. The next day we checked her skin and she had blood red pores on her hairs and she wouldn't stop scratching. We washed her and put prescription strength allergy spay on her. We spent the rest of the day holding her down to keep her from scratching herself raw. The shampoo they sell at the front counter is the same we use at home, I don't know if they use the same kind of if it was the perfume but it was honestly a miserable experience. read more

My 3lb poodle HATES to go anywhere. She's a home body. So I'm always super cautious when taking her anywhere! But this place, is amazing. People are so kind, and they always remember her whenever she comes in! I always request for Brandi, because she does an amazing job considering how matted my dog is. (I'm really bad when it comes to brushing her.) Plus, they always give her free bows! Even if I have something going on that day, they let me leave my dog there however long I want! This is obviously supposed to be a posh place to take your dog for grooming. I took my German Shepard who is a big sweetheart here and thought she would be pampered. Paid 81 dollars to have her bathed, nails, ears ,deshedding and teeth done. The full package. When I picked her up They did not have the dog tv on. No bandana and my dog was still damp which is an issue for Germans. I won't be back to pay for this upscale service that is lacking. read more

My dogs have gotten a blueberry facial which is nice because they have white fur and that's where they get the dirtiest. Awesome! They did so great. We took our puppy, a Malshi, who had not been groomed yet and was very long and harry. He came out so cute and even had a green bowtie for St. Patty's day. We are taking him back this week and our Golden Retriever as well. I was so very impressed with their entire salon. I stopped in one day with my 90lb pitbull who had been running around in the mud all day. Although they were busy, they managed to accommodate me. I was very impressed by the cleanliness, professionalism, friendliness of the staff, the way they handled my overly excited large dog (I've had groomers flat out tell me they wouldn't take my dog due to her breed), and the shampoo (natural and for sensitive skin) and nail trim. I just moved to Gilbert from out of state and needed to find a place to not only get my dog groomed, but also my cat (I am currently staying with someone that has allergies until I can move into my house). Through Yelp I found Furry Beginnings.... Let me start by saying I have never been more impressed with a grooming studio. When I called, the owner Olivia answered. She got some info from me, and had me scheduled for two days out. Not even five minutes later she called me back to let me know they had a cancellation and could actually get me in same day! When I got there, not only was I greeted by Olivia, but every one of the staffers came by to say hello to me and my dog. She got tons of attention right away, which helped since she has been a little nervous since the move. One groomer took my cat right back into a private room so he didn't get upset with all the commotion and then came back to ask questions regarding his experience getting groomed so she could better gauge how he would handle the experience. This particular groomer ( my apologies, I cannot remember her name) specializes in cats so I felt confident my kitty was in great hands! When I got my animals back (Dad picked them up) they were both so clean and happy I knew they were treated exceptionally well in the hands of Olivia and her wonderful staff. They both smelled good and their costs were super shiny. I had added de-shedding to both packages and I can tell they did a very thorough brushing. I will definitely be using Furry Beginnings again in the future. And once more I want to reiterate how impressed I am with this company. read more

Wonderful staff. Our first visit today, groomer gave us a tour of facility. Was worried about a previous posting complaint regarding the cages in the front of store. Dogs were all happy and they were not in cages but open air fences. Our tea cup yorkie was sitting in his bed with the full staff seated in the floor with him when we arrived. Happy and beautiful!!
