I have been going here for my dog to get a bath, brush, and nail grind or trim for several years. I had been pleased with their service and their kind handling of my nervous dog. However, I will not be returning. I did not bring my dog in for just over a year, and when I made the appointment, they should have noticed the last time I had been in was over a year ago and told me over the phone their prices had increased significantly. I was unaware of their steep price increase until I paid when I picked up my dog. To get her bathed, brushed, and a nail clip was $92!!! That is outrageously expensive and unaffordable. If you want to pay ridiculously high prices, then I say go for it because otherwise their service is fine. But because the dog grooming industry is large, I will easily find both a lower price and good service elsewhere. read more

We've been taking our Yorkie here for the past 2 years or so and have always loved the results no matter the groomer. The staff is super friendly and it's clear they care about your precious fur babies. Our dog always looks adorable when he comes out! I also like that the dogs are kept in open air "kennels" and not kept in enclosed kennels while they wait. read more

Im so in love with the services at this place!!!! I don't write many reviews however, I couldn't wait to express how AMAZING they were to me and my doggy at Furry Beginnings! I took my 13 year old pup Gigi, to get a sweet "Teddy Bear" cut last week and they listened to everything I specifically asked for! I have a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix and it's not the easiest thing to make her look like a teddy bear but I simply showed my groomer a photo of what I wanted and she gave me exactly what I asked!!!!!!! It came out SO beautiful and on top of that- I have NEVER had the BOW stay on my dog for longer than a day. Usually my dog rolls around on the floor until the bow is hanging off or completely falls off but...., to this VERY SECOND, Gigi has her beautiful bow they put on her, STILL ON!!!!!!!!! I love it when my pup looks girly with a bow! It means SO MUCH to me!!!! The placement of the bow in front of the ear instead of behind the ear was simply GENIUS!!!!!!! I am SO impressed! None of all the places I've ever taken my dog to (in 13yrs) have been able to place the bow in such a perfect spot! Thank you so much! I'm in love!!!! P.S. I knew I was at an incredible shop!!! - I witnessed another woman picking up her dog and when they pointed to the gate next to the front desk (where her dog was waiting for her) they said, "There's your dog" she was so embarrassed that SHE DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE HER OWN DOG AFTER!!! We have used them for at least 3 years. We just love all of the groomers. They are caring and professional. We know that are dogs are being loved and treated as we treat them. We have tried others and we ran back to Furry Beginnings. Our one dog is 16 and has seizures when being blown dried from stress. They make sure they let her sit and air dry and give her extra love. They did a good job grooming my pet. However, they staff was so rude!!! I dropped him off, and explained what i wanted. My pup has very thick, coarse fur and in the summers. We prefer to shave him because he sheds and scratches himself, clearly he's uncomfortable The young girl in the front continued to argue with me that is not the best decision and tried to tell me that he won't look good. I should just do the basic grooming! EXCUSE ME, this is my dog. WE DO THIS EVERY SUMMER AND ALL I HAVE EVER HEARD IS PRAISE THAT DOGS ARE SO MUCH MORE BETTER OFF SHAVEN IN THR SUMMER. I scheduled an appointment with Furry Beginnings almost a week ago. They provided me with a time of 10:00 this morning but in their records they put 9:45. They just called me to cancel the appointment because we were "late." My husband was on his way and within 5 minutes of arrival. They apologized for the "confusion" but cancelled our appointment anyway! We have five dogs and give them HUNDREDS of dollars worth of business every year. 0 stars for this place. Unreal the groomer was scared. Showed intimidation from the moment I dropped my 8-lb Yorke off to have been cleaned and cut. NO HAIRCUT! Manager couldn't help at all. Owner was at a doctors appointment. I dropped my dog off at 10:40 and they called me back in 25 minutes to let me know my dog was ready. No way! Nails cut well most of them were cut and she got a bath. Wow they wanted to charge me $40. I don't think so..... this place is plain awful if you can't cut the hair on a 8 lbs dog and I will not ever go back to this place. You may need more experienced groomers. IE PEOPLE WHO ARENT SCARED TO CUT A DOGS HAIR. I don't care how long I have to wait to get my dogs haircut at Pet Depot. Why the 5-stars? I shall tell you. I came in one morning to drop off my two little dogs for grooming and asked if I had to make an appointment to get another dog's nails trimmed and was told I could just swing by anytime. So, I turned around and grabbed my mom's 12 year-old Rottie, Bandit, and brought him in for a nail trim. Poor Bandit has bad hips and can only walk short distances without needing to rest. We made it just inside their gate and I knew Bandit was done walking for the time being. One of the groomers said we can leave him out front and she can take care of him right then and there (and I feel horrible that I can't remember her name). She brought a mat for Bandit to lie on and she went to town on his nails that were LONG overdue for a trim. The process took about 20 minutes (she used a dremmel) and afterwards helped me to get Bandit back to his feet and steady himself on the tile floor. I literally almost cried from how sweet they were during the process. As for my two little ones, they've always come out looking great and not being stressed which is a big plus since some other groomers tend to have too many things going on which stress out the animals. read more

Had my BF take my kitty "Target" to get her Lion hair cut and he showed up on July 31st with a very angry kitty! By his surprise he was told the appointment was for Tues Aug 7th (the BF was mad) but the ladies came through and took her in and got her taken care of!!! My Yorkie was in desperate need of a haircut, so I decided to give this place a try since it was closer to me at the time than my usual groomer was. Alas, I should have just made the drive. My first impression of this place wasn't so good. The lobby has pop-up cages with random dogs placed together in them, which feels sort of unsafe to me because a) they aren't being supervised closely and b) dogs can lash out when they feel scared or threatened, especially in a strange place without their owner around. The washing/grooming tables are in the back, so you can't see anything. Every other place I have been, there is either a window or a full-view of the groomers. I had to fill out a ton of paperwork like it was a doctor's (or, I guess, vet's) office. The most ridiculous part, though, was the price. My dog is 5 POUNDS and they charged me the same as a dog three/four times her size for a basic grooming package! I have never paid that much to get her groomed anywhere. Also, as I would later find out, they didn't clip her nails or anything like I was told they would. When I came back to pick up my dog, she was alone in the lobby and shaking. The hair cut was unimpressive for the amount paid and I ended up having to fix some uneven areas when I got home. The shampoo they use was also really strong and unpleasant. Also, the groomer told me totally nonchalantly that she cut my dog's head, but that she was probably fine. Is anyone responsible or trained to work with animals at this place? I brought my miniature schnauzer in for an overhaul (she needed it bad!). Right when I walked in I was impressed with the place. There was a gate at the front door for the dogs that were allowed to walk around without the fear of escaping. There was also an area gated off by itself with dog beds and a tv at a perfect dog viewing height. The ladies in there were very nice. They had my girl all done in just over an hour. She looked and smelled wonderful! I was pleasantly surprised with the price too. To top it off they sent her home with a toy and new Halloween costume! Not only do we love this place, our puppies love this place. They are always so friendly, and they do such an amazing job! We have been through many groomers who claim to have to shave our pups due to matting, but I just call it laziness. They never shave our pups bare here. They always come home smelling AMAZING and with little cute scarfs or ties....literally little doggie neck ties. I also love that they do not crate them, and they keep them together. It actually took me quite some time to go into Furry Beginnings because I assumed it would be like all the other pet boutiques I've been in with totally overpriced items. Boy was I wrong! This place is awesome. It was so peaceful... They had soft relaxation music and a flat screen TV with outdoor scenes playing. It smelled so nice and there was two very friendly dogs wandering around that helped me shop! I started looking at the cute dog collars and literally thought the price was a mistake. To say the price was reasonable is putting lightly. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff! The dogs that were there for grooming where not in cages but in nice x-pens with fluffy bedding. After a few less than great trims at Petsmart I figured I'd try this place. Very clean, everyone was friendly, the shop smelled good and the other dogs there seemed happy too. I like that my dog was in a nice little play pen waiting for me rather than in a cage. Yes, I'm probably a crazy Pomeranian owner, but especially when the price is equal why not have the best for my fur baby? I got her the full service package - bath, trim, blueberry facial (don't laugh), nail trim and filing, paw revitalizer and tooth brushing. Not a happy camper here. My son, who was watching my miniature schnauzer for me for the last 9 months until he could be sent to me here in Japan, took him to this establishment. He said he'd taken my boy there before and the cuts were always good. However, when my boy showed up here to me, I was shocked that they had cut off his schnauzer skirt with the hair down to the skin and all his leg hair as gone too. He looked terrible. Not Schnauzer like at all! My son stated he asked for a short schnauzer cut and he came back with no schnauzer skirt or hair on his legs. When I return to Phoenix, I will not be taking my boy to this establishment. I'm not trying to bash them, but I just don't understand how a short schnauzer cut is interpreted to mean being trimmed down to the skin. read more
