Have been coming here since I was a kid. I can't attest to the bowling and it seems like the less than favorable reviews are about that - though it seems plenty are happy with it also. I've always loved to skate here. The guard isn't over-protective and they pretty quickly learn your level just by watching you. If you're not clogging up the mix or conversely plowing over people because you can go fast but can't maneuver, they leave you be. If you have little ones, I'd suggest the daytime only. Night time skating has always been for older kids and not sure if they still do it but Sunday nights used to be for 18+. Arcade and so many things to do aside from skating - how can you go wrong with an established place like this that's been around forever? read more

This is a great place for adults and children to have fun. The food was great and at a good price value.The only thing in opinion is that there are not enough games for smaller children ages 2 to 3 ish. I definitely liked the big screen Pac-Man play. read more

Spent a nice couple of hours here doing some of the outdoor activities - go-karts & mini golf. I was only with one child, but I bet this would be great fun for larger groups. The outdoor concession doubles selling food and tickets for the outdoor activities, which was OK as it wasn't very busy the weekend afternoon we visited. read more

Funway is a really fun place to take a trip to memory lane the time you go with your friends or family you want to do it again.my only complaint is the pizza. Me and 4 other friends came here and got the 1 hour bowling season for 40 dollars. We finished that having plenty of fun then we moved to mini golf and had alot of fun. When we came back inside we were all hungry 2 of my friends and me got grilled cheese. And my other friend got pizza. And the last one got chicken tenders. The grilled cheeses took nearly 40 minutes and my friend pizza was overpriced and took longer than the grilled cheese. The last friend who ordered the chicken tenders took forever so we went and asked and they said he never ordered them and wouldn't check the cameras. Then the manager came and said they couldn't check the cameras. And told us they couldnt do anything. They took 12.50$ from my friend. As a teenager who has a limited budget that is complete bogus. I enjoyed all the activities but the staff ruined my experience. read more

It was a rainy day and this place saved my sanity! It has everything you need to entertain any age child! I have a 6 month old, almost 3 year old and a six year old! I only spent 40 dollars and the kids got to play arcade games, mini golf, laser tag and bowl!! (They also have go karts, number cars, roller skate rink and outdoor fun) Also their food is extremely cheap and not bad quality! This place is so much fun. There's bowling, laser tag, bumper boats, batting cages, a huge arcade, mini golf, go carts and a roller rink. If it wasn't for the Groupon I'm not sure I would pay for everything there it is a little overpriced. The food at the concession stand is really overpriced and don't expect good service at the concession stand, they take forever. Good value, but pretty cheap in quality. They do not take credit cards on less than a $10 purchase. This is an interesting concept, but kind of lame. Would be good for young kids and their families. Played black-light mini-golf (two people for only $3.50). The kid running this section could have cared less about being there, and perhaps about being alive. My kids had a great time, lots of fun. I'm only giving it three stars though, because my son used his card loaded with money to get a prize. The man at the counter didn't return the card, which had about $5 left on it. It makes me wonder if the workers have a racket going on. read more

My 4 star review would have received a solid 5 stars if it wasn't for the roller skating. Everything here is fun. There are many family-friendly activities that could easily serve as a great family day trip. Even with roller skating, they provide "skate-mates" that kids 9 & under can hold onto when they are learning to skate. My problem with the skating isn't even with the prices or quality. Both are amazing. My problem is the staff. They roll around on the rink and help people when needed. However, they seem to only help little children. When they fall they come rushing over. But if an adult, or teenager falls, they don't do anything. In my mind, they sometimes require more medical attention than these kids who likely fall multiple times a day just walking. They also like to show-off their glowing skates and perform simple "tricks". One of them cut me off while skating just the other day and made me lose my balance. Very unprofessional. read more

The overall complex was pretty amazing. The prices were reasonable. But the customer service was questionable. In fact, there was one young lady who was so overwhelmingly rude from start to finish that I would hesitate to ever go back. Went here (to the bowling alley) today for a fundraiser. This was a disaster from start to finish, and I'm not sure whose fault it was. I don't know if it was Funway or the organizer of the fundraiser, but the Funway staff was not helpful to me personally, so I've got a problem with that. Looking at other reviews, it's pretty clear that communication among staff members in this joint is pretty lackluster. We were told to arrive at 2:45 for a 3:00 start, and that bowling would go until 5:30 or 3 games (I don't know what that meant, whether it was bowling until 5:30 or 3 games, whichever comes first? I don't know, and I wish I had been told that when we originally arrived). Anyway, at 5:10 PM, a message came on our screen saying that our time was about to end, and to see the front desk. So i did. They said that our pizza had been ready since 5:00. Uh... Whose fault is that? Anyway, someone somewhere screwed up communication. Long story short, they cut off my lane time at about 5:17 and my family and I weren't able to finish our game. They later offered to credit us for shoes, but only one of us had rented shoes. In any event, we ended up getting charged $8.50. I'm not sure how that's possible, because this was supposed to be a fundraiser. So I wonder how much the charity made off of that amount. In any universe, that's hardly worth the charity's time, and hardly worth Funway's time. So that equates to a complete WASTE of time. As if that wasn't bizarre enough, the bartender was unfamiliar (somehow) with how to make a Shirley Temple/Kiddie Cocktail. That was OK, I guess, as I instructed him on how to make it after he mistakenly used cranberry juice, which my niece wouldn't drink. However, if you're working the bar, you need to know how to make basic mixed drinks. I don't think he was the usual bartender, but whoever made the decision to put him on bar made a terrible judgment call on that one. The guy wasn't dressed like a bartender, he was dressed like a general Funway employee, so that's not my major beef with the place. Maybe he was just asked to cover because he was over 21. I don't know. A little about me: I bowl pretty frequently at different bowling alleys, so I'm familiar with the fact that not every lane in every bowling alley bowls exactly the same. However, whatever they're doing to their lanes here at Funway *REALLY* screws things up. I bowl about a 150 or 160 average. Here, I don't think I broke 100 in either game, and that was after greatly modifying my throw to compensate for the totally different lane conditions. So bowling alleys are going to be different, with different bowling surface textures/grease patterns. FINE. But, you're a bowling alley in a place called "FunWay," which is *primarily* geared towards children, and you aren't PREPARED FOR LARGE NUMBERS OF PARTIES WHO HAVE CHILDREN INCLUDED IN THOSE PARTIES, (I GUESS??), then you need to make some SERIOUS changes to your business model. In our entire fundraising party, I believe we had 4 children young enough to not be able to bowl without the help of an adult or a bowling ramp (spread out between 2 lanes). If those 4 children are on the same lane, that isn't a problem. But this place apparently only has 3 bowling ramps. We had 4 or 5 lanes total (including people who were just there to bowl with their family), where there was a definite need for bowling ramps. In order to attempt to accommodate the strangers, and to pay it forward, we decided to have my niece not use one of the ramps, but to allow one of the other families with smaller children use ours. The problem is, that means that she had to bowl in the only way she could, which was to roll the ball while sliding in, in kid-kind of fashion. We were quickly reprimanded for that by a kid who was probably younger than 18, which I suppose is understandable from a liability standpoint. But the proper business owner/manager response shouldn't be to reprimand us for having to resort to having a 5 year old bowl without a bowling ramp. It's to HAVE MORE THAN 3 BOWLING RAMPS IN YOUR BOWLING ALLEY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN FREQUENTLY HAVE PARTIES. That seems like COMMON SENSE to me. Needless to say, I'll never be back here. I guess next year I'll just write a check to my friend for his charity, because it simply isn't worth the aggravation of putting up with the deer-in-the-headlights staff, a stand-in bartender who doesn't know what he's doing (to his credit, he admitted it and apologized, so I don't have anything personal against him). And it's totally annoying when they shut off your lane IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR GAME. At least let me FINISH THE GAME before you turn it off. I've had bad experiences like this, but never had one that made me regret coming out to support a good friend's charity. Like I said, next year I'll just write him a check. Ugh. The last two times I've taken my kids here, we've had a great time. They love the arcade games and the bowling is always fun. They also like the glow in the dark golf. However, when it comes time to redeem your ticket card, get ready to lose your patience. First of all, the last two times I've gone, they had my ticket count wrong. I ran the card through the card reader, and it always says the ticket count on the screen. Then, when it's time to get the prizes, the unfriendly teenagers that work at the redemption center always say there are less tickets on my card than what the other screen said. This has happened twice. This is frustrating and there has to be a better system, like printing out a receipt with the number of tickets on the card. Also, the redemption center workers can use a lesson in customer service and overall friendliness. The last few I've encountered seemed to be bothered by me, and seemed to hate their job. I understand they are mostly teenagers, but if this is not the job they want, they need to find a new one. read more

I had a nightmare experience at Funway. We booked our daughters birthday at the arcade.Firstly there were no instructions about where to check in. I found out that I had to check in on one floor lower than the main floor after asking 3 people who work there. I was surprised that we would be given a party room f(shared by several other parties) or only one hour where as the party would last for 2 hours. Also the person athe counter asked me to look for bins on the upper floor behind the glass counter. When I asked him help locate it, he asked me to do it myself. After 10 minutes, I finally had someone bringing the bins to keep the coats. We had to hold to the bin ourselves since there was no room to put the coats. I complained to the manager who told me that she would ensure there were no hiccups. We had tickets to mini golf but no one gave instructions on where to get the putter and ball. Had to ensure that all 25 kids were safe hence kept checking around while there were playing, Finally we were called to the party room. Unfortunately there did not have an announcement system(unlike other party places). Hence I had to run around getting the kids together. In the party room, the people working only served the first round of pizza. I had to serve the next round and the drinks. Despite ordering a pitcher of leader for the adults, the folks serving refused to serve the adults saying the lemonade was for kids only. I had already mentioned while booking the party that we would have adults on the table as well and had asked for lemonade pitcher for adults. The staff was pretty rude. They did not bother to let my daughter to cut the cake. She only blew the one candle they had and they just took away the cake. I was not told that I had to pay right after coming out the party. The staff was pretty insensitive to the fact that the parents coming to pick up three kids did not know where they need to pick their kids from. I wanted to ensure that I knew that each kid is handed over back safely to their parents. Instead I was told had I had to pay right now (they already had my card on file for safety). Finally when I paid I was asked if m daughter received her t-shirt. The staff didn't bother to do so though I did see them giving t-shirts to other birthday kids in a backpack. I was given the t-shirt at the counter but no backpack. When I went back to check the bin for remaining coats, I saw that there were return gifts which the staff forgot to tell me and give to the kids. Thankfully I had my own return gifts for the kids. All in all - very poor co- ordination, poor customer management and poor event management. On the bright side, the kids lover the arcade games though I was left extremely tired after the party and extremely frustrated as I could not enjoy my daughters birthday. read more

Kids had fun at tell my son broke his leg in 3 spots skating. Not saying thats there doing. However I was alone with him age 7 and my daughter age 6. And I got no help carrying him they juat stoped the skating for me. And then I had to find a wheelchair on my own and take him to the car one lady stayed will hom as I pulled the car around ex. They did a accident report however never called to see how he was doing or offerd anything like come back when your cast gets off for free or any kind of refined. (We where only there 20min) I know they dont have to and as I said it wasnt there fault it happened but they coi of have been more helpful in a time of need. My son is 97 pounds and wasnt easy for me to carry on my own when 2 guys that work there watching. And as I said I think they could have called in the following day to see how he was and offerd somthing to get me to come back. read more

Have been going to Funway since I was a kid; always loved it. Haven't been there in years. It was fun and the kids had a good time. But, we can pay $100 to have an hour of "fun" anywhere. Prices are insane, especially for rides that last a few minutes. And the prizes in the arcade are pretty sad... even to a kid. Downstairs area is nice, but upstairs, nightmare. Dark and dank and absolutely reeked like mold. That or a serious sewage issue, because the entire level smelled like rotten eggs. It was absolutely awful to the point that one of us could have puked. Just gross. They need to fix the problem, rather than have their employees walk around spraying Lysol. read more

I was very impressed when I can here for a birthday party last week. I used to come here in the mid 1980's, and always thought the place was a dump. But it was very nice, and clean. There were a lot if activities for kids of all ages. I did have to chase my kid around a lot as he explored the place. He had a blast, that's all that matters. read more
