I absolutely LOVE River View Miniature Golf! I have came on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience! The staff is nice, welcoming, and so patient. The course is beautiful with scenic river views and a variety of different holes to play. A couple bricks are loose but nothing you can't work around! They have paddle boats and kayaks as well. We went on a paddle boat one time and it was a really fun experience! They have boundaries set up for you to stay within and they provide life jackets. They do only sit up to 4 people though! Their concessions stand has really good prices and lots of variety. We went once earlier in the season and once later in the season and the selection was definitely more in the beginning. The food was good, I had a pretzel and my husband had a hot dog and both tasted great! Lots of drink and ice cream items to choose from as well! Definitely recommend taking a trip here! read more

I'm not an amazing mini golfer, but have fun pretending I am. We went to River View Mini Golf to play a round during a family party at the Potawatomi Park. This golf course is located on that property, which is great for those who are at the park, looking for a fun activity. The course is fairly simple to understand with many of the holes being part 2 or 3. Playing it was lots of fun! There's a fair number of water traps, so be careful with those! I had the worst luck and lost my ball to the water a few times. It was a bit of a pain going all the way back through the course to get a new ball, since there was no real direct route and you had to go by all the holes you've passed. The park could use some cleaning, too. I know it's outside and it's a park attraction, but the gazebo was covered in spider webs that were pretty hidden, making it easy to miss them and accidentally get a hand full of web. (Not my favorite thing...) Also, there were various missing or loose bricks to watch out for. But overall, I had fun playing mini golf at River View and would do it again. read more

I really wanted to recommend a his spot! It's a great location with lovely views while you are playing. However, the course is really run down to the point where some areas didn't seem safe. Missing or lose bricks. Broken pieces on the course. One of the arms of the windmill would slam down because it was broken. I hope to give it a try another time- hopefully things will get fixed. read more

Not a bad little golf place, although I wasn't aware you had to pay to park there until after someone else mentioned it in their review since we weren't asked to pay. The course itself could do with some maintenance, but it's not horrible. How come they leave big gaps between some of the bricks around the course? More than once we had a rouge ball as a result, and since they charge you $1 for missing balls you've got to wonder what they are trying to pull. Prices are good though at $5 per person (or $5 for two people if you got in on the recent Groupon). That's about as cheap as I found any mini-golf and it's nice being right next to the river. When you're done you can go out on a paddleboat or have a picnic in the park. read more

Courses are more challenging than first look with hills and odd angles. Had some shade along the course. Very unusual is some courses have 2 holes. We had fun. Maintenance is needed on the bricks outline the courses. Many are lose, so be careful stepping on them. And they also effect the ball at times. Really need to be re-caulked. Also need to remove some poison ivy. read more

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time with her little nephew mini-golfing here this past summer. It is challenging enough for adults to still be fun, but not too hard that younger kids will have too many problems. There is only one hole that all three of us lost our balls in! We were not charged for replacement balls, so that was nice. The price is very affordable and the scenery next to the river is quite nice. There is also a playground right next to it to continue fun with the kiddos, and let themselves tire out for the day. We all loved it and will return. read more

This was a fun course....everyone's golf ball ended up having to be retrieved from the water at least once, but they have the equipment for it. It also gets busy there, but we expected that. This course is part of the St. Charles Park District and as another reviewer mentioned, there are a lot of other things to do while there...you can surely make a day of it. Water park/pool, paddle boats rentals, rides on the...large paddle boat? A park, nine hole golf course, etc. This would have been a 5 star review if it weren't for two issues... 1. I checked the pricing of kids online before I purchased a $5 for two "adult admissions" Groupon and because my kids are 3 and 5, I was expecting to pay $1.50 for each child. Well, they ended up charging us $4.50 for our 5 year old. It's not the extra $3 that irritates me, it's the bait and switch tactics...which I simply loathe from any business. Plus, my annoyance at that point was compounded because... 2. As a non-resident of St. Charles, I had to pay $5 to park in the lot of the complex (you really don't have a choice but to do so.) Again, not a big deal, but I was glad I happened to have cash on me, as I rarely do. Also, since I did buy a Groupon for the mini-golf, I really feel that parking fee should have been mentioned in the "fine print". read more

We searched for a family friendly activity to do with 6 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 baby. This mini golf is part of a larger preserve with lots to do (picnics, pedal boats, paddle boat tour, pool, park with playground, biking, etc.), so we decided to do the mini golf and the pedal boats. The mini golf place itself is nice. It's clean, it seems well-maintained, and we actually had a lot of fun. The day we went, it wasn't terribly busy, but I suspect that was because it looked like it was going to rain, and in fact, it did begin to pour moments after we finished our 18 holes (talk about timing!). We had a 2 year old playing in our group, and I really appreciated that we weren't rushed along or made to feel badly about taking a little extra time to let her try and hit the ball. If this review was based on experience alone, it would have been a 5. The 3 star rating is due to the fact that this mini golf course is not wheelchair accessible. Technically, it is, but you are directed a different way and you can't play all of the holes. The only reason we noticed this is because we had a stroller for the baby, and we had a very hard time maneuvering it around the course. read more

The family had a wonderful time at the miniature golf. Pretty tough course for little kids but it was a lot of fun. Adults were $5.50 and kids were $4.50 and $1.50 so a family of 4 can play for $20. The business also has pedal boat rentals on the Fox River and sells concession food like hot dogs, ice cream and soda. If you have extra time there are other activities in the park like a swimming pool and playground. Wonderful park setting, we'll be back on a warmer day. read more

I may be a little biased as I grew up in the area, but this is probably one of my favorite mini golf courses. The course is just challenging enough, and we actually like having scoop our balls out of the water (they have special ball scoopers laying around the course). The only thing to be wary of are the bugs, when there's a bad mosquito season they can get pretty bad here because the course is right on the Fox River. Overall though, we come here as often as we can! read more

My family went mini-golfing for my sisters birthday. We had a blast! The attendants were nice, and we had fun playing the holes. The park itself was nice, and not trashy or overgrown with weeds. All in all a nice place to go. read more
