Would rather rate this place 0 stars with how strict they are. Workers aren't friendly and constantly yell at kids.

Im reviewing this from the perspective of a parent of a 16 month old. The place is really nice but unfortunately the toddler area is on the way to the older kids section and has no gate protecting it. As such, parents with older kids congregate there as well as older kids on their own so you have to continuously keep an eye on your kids so they don't get trampled bugger kids playing more roughly. I don't mind the occasional kid, but this is constant enough that it just can't relax. I mentioned it to the owner and he tried his best for 1 minute but after he left more kids arrived. I got frustrated that they didn't keep an eye for older kids and my toddlers didn't really had the space they needed to move around freely without being constantly scared of older bigger kids running and jumping around. read more

Good indoor spot to let your kids play. However, do not buy the punch card for $80-$100 unless you are certain that you won't loose it. There's no way that they can replace lost cards nor will they even try to accommodate the situation. Customer service is lacking at the Lynnwood Alderwood Mall location. UPDATE: The manager came by to talk to me and was willing to offer a compromise. Overall, happy that he came over to acknowledge the situation rather than be dismissive. Hope that they can come up with a more convenient tracking system in the future. read more

This place is hell on earth. The owners try to schedule as many parties back to back as possible to get the most $$$. (This is a business, I understand) The "staff" is very young and unprofessional and has no business in being "party helpers" without proper training, experience. You get only 50 min in the room where the party takes place, you do the math yourself...se-up, clean-up, eating, singing happy birthday, cake, presents ( just pick two from the list) because that is all you will have time for! Everything is rushed and frustrating to say the least! The actual play area and the check-in area are the real treat. The check-in area is a mess, with one line of people trying to pour into this place all at once, Birthday guests are left standing while no one directs them or tells them that they do not have to wait! The play area is over filled with children. The company takes pride in being one of the only places that gives children unlimited play time after the birthday party ends, ..and this is where hell is created...when your kids come in for a birthday party...you will have 30 kids from a previous party still playing, while more "visitors" are being allowed in,...and now its just a huge mess of kids with unlimited play time, and about 20 min to eat pizza, sing happy birthday and eat cake, all while the "staff" are cleaning while you are enjoying your kids party and vacuuming through the birthday song! Do yourself a favor and choose a better place for birthday and kid memories. If you are at the mall and just want to take your kid to play, that might work better for this place! read more

I'm sad to have to update this, but after going there so many times I just don't feel this place is up to a 5 star rating anymore. Some problems are things that are new, some are things I've only come to notice after being there many times. One of the new problems is the wear on the place. There is duct tape on many of the foam and inflatable things covering holes. It looks tired and worn and obviously needs to be properly fixed or replaced. My other main complaint is with the toddler area. I was there with my two toddlers and the place was just out of control with older kids. One staff member was doing her best to nicely get older kids out but without parents watching she eventually just gave up. I myself ended up telling kids to leave and go play in the bigger area. I'm not a fan of the computers in the toddler area. I find myself fighting with my kid every time we go that he's spending too much time in front of a screen and not playing (the purpose of going to a place like this). I honestly just wish they weren't there at all. The other problem with these screens is that they are really designed for older kids, not the 2 and under crowd actually permitted in the area. So I really feel for the big kids that want to play with them but aren't allowed to. It just doesn't make sense to me to have them at all. If I were to make changes to the place I would ditch the computer screens and have an actual walled-off area for the toddlers. There isn't a real barrier now and most parents aren't watching their kids here, so you can see why it ends up filled with big kids. read more

I would rather have a root canal than come here. They allow people to bring in food and drinks, meaning kids are running around smearing peanut butter, ice cream, and god knows what else all over the place. As the parent of a child with severe allergies, this gives me heart palpitations. I agree with a previous reviewer about the air cannons. They are painfully loud. Just because the sound levels have been determined to be "safe" (I'm assuming they define safe as not causing lasting damage) that doesn't mean it's comfortable. Even sitting on the opposite side of the room is painful. Aggressive behavior is not dealt with by the staff. On a previous trip here, a child (6-7) decided to beat the crap out of my three year-old because he was blocking the ball drop. I reported it and nothing happened. Ten minutes later I see the same kid using some other kid's head as a speed bag. I used my loud angry mom voice and reprimanded the kid myself. I reported it again, and this time a staff member gave the kid a half-hearted "don't hit people". The best part? The kid's grandmother watched the whole thing and DID NOTHING. That big blue and white octopus in the font window? It's covered in rips and tears which they've patched with thick black tape. Yeah, it's lovely. Why do we keep coming here? Because you can't get to the children's museum without walking past it and my kid LOVES it. I have to admit, the play area is pretty amazing and I totally get why he always wants to come here, but I dread it. read more

I would say that this isn't the absolute best indoor play area in/around Seattle, but it definitely wasn't bad. I read a lot of the reviews that were very negative and I don't think that was completely necessary. The place is a little cramped, not much room for parents to sit and supervise their children, and the structures themselves are pretty small and not as easy to maneuver to play with kiddos (I usually have to go around and show them the ropes when we go to new places and then they are good to go, the spacing between the slide and the netting was maybe two feet, super small even for the kids!). I didn't see any signs of duct tape like some other reviewers stated. I looked around and didn't think it was especially dirty. I've been to plenty of places that also have air guns and I didn't think the noise was especially loud. I'm shocked that people would advise to bring headphones/ear plugs--do not want to take care of your children and be aware of what they are up to?? Of course this place is going to be loud. There are children running all over the place having FUN! I didn't think it was any more noisy than similar places. I didn't see any older children in the toddler play area, and to be honest, the toddler area was a little pathetic, my two year old nephew wasn't interested in it at all. I took three boys here on a rainy Saturday and it was perfectly acceptable. It kept them entertained and they were all tired in the evening, which is always a plus. My ONLY suggestion would be for the staff to actually check the wristbands when people leave. I'm not really sure what the point of having matching numbers for the kids and the adults in the same group if they aren't going to be checked upon departure. Maybe there's another reason for them other than safety of children upon exiting. Fun place, but would recommend Play Date Sea instead. read more

I just took my two girls - ages 6 and 3 - here over the weekend. They loved it. It seems like many of the indoor playspaces in the area cater to the toddler and preschool crowd, but this place has a very large area dedicated to play equipment on the level of my 1st grader, which is awesome. They do have a toddler area and it is quite unique - definitely has more things than many toddler areas. My 3 year old played in it a bit but mostly liked the ball area of the main structure. The place is set up to have the big play structure in the center, with counters for parents to sit at around it. The toddler area is up by the entrance. It was busy but there was plenty of room for the kids to play without crowding. The place was well staffed to keep up with everything too - two people at the counter and 2 more roaming around checking on kids and cleaning up, plus I'm sure dealing with the party that was going on in the party room. All the staff wore brightly colored shirts so it was easy to spot them. As another parent commented they are pretty young - some looked to be high school students - but were nice and helpful. The parent area was mostly full, but I found a seat fine. I wish they had more for parents to do - I love being a parent at PlayDateSEA because they serve espresso, beer, and decent food, plus they have free wifi. All they serve here is bottled water, juice boxes, and chip bags. There was one family eating mcdonalds so they must allow outside food but I doubt they would allow you to walk out to get some while your child is in there. I don't think there is wifi because my tablet used cell data and never informed me there was a network available. If there is they do not advertise it. Also I found it too cold in there - I put my jacket back on a couple minutes after arriving and kept it on the whole time. Even so, I felt cold when sitting very long - I tend to go in and out of playing with the girls and felt fine after more active playing, but that's with the jacket on the whole time. For the kids it is the best indoor playspace we have tried. They only played with about 2/3s of the available equipment and were entertained for about 2.5 hours. We will definitely be back. Giving a 4 star rating just because it doesn't have the parent perks, would be a 5 star rating if it had them :) read more

I've come here multiple times before and have always enjoyed it especially my babies. I never noticed but they have this electronic thing similar to a tablet and it's very distracting. Instead of playing my kids just wanted to be glued to this thing. I try very hard to keep them away from electronics but when our favorite play area has two that are easy access for the children it makes things a bit hard. The main purpose of us coming out is for them to interact with other kids and play not to be stuck on this thing. I'm not here for it and def think it should be removed. read more

I took my 2year old son here twice. We just hate the cannon ball area. Kids are supposed to shoot the balls high to the target near ceiling, but everyone shoots their balls to people directly, often onto their face and head. Everytime I go there, I get hit by a ball and frankly it is quite painful. The ball is not that soft, and with the speed the ball is pushed from the canon, it can hit anyone's head pretty hard. It is no fun at all. I was almost slapped by the ball on my cheek, on my head. I am tired of trying to protect my toddler from the ball attack inside that area. My toddler really wants to play with balls, but kids kept shooting the balls randomly at toddler/kids eye level and it really worries me if the balls hit my child's eye. It is a foam ball, but trust me, it's not that soft. Also the sound of canon trigger is horribly loud and freaks my toddler out. They should stricly limit direction of shooting only to the taget hanging from the ceiling, not directly onto people. Honestly, I wish they just removed the cannon toys completely from the place. read more

The good: Tons of creative obstacles that are well suited to 2-4 year olds. Cheaper than WiggleWorks and offers way more variety. Lots of parent seating around the main maze area. The bad: Employees offer little to no supervision. The air guns are insanely loud. No enforcement of age ranges in the smaller kids areas. Plasticky smell. Things to know: - Socks are required for kids & parents - 2 hour limit Our experience: When looking in from the mall, yikes- this place looked super crowded! We almost didn't go in because our 2.5yo hates crowds. But it's cheap enough that we decided to brave it out and see what happens. Once we got into the main area, there are tons of nooks & crannies everywhere! It's almost like a 2 level maze with multiple entry & exit points. It's really well done in a way that kept our toddler fully engaged for around an hour. There's even a slide in the middle (although there were some issues with older kids shoving smaller ones out of the way and stopping in the middle to block the slide). The 2 hour limit didn't phase us because although WW offers all day in & out, we've never taken advantage of it- we are there to play, leave, and don't go back. What I didn't love: - First, the air guns. They have tons of foam balls and kids can load them up to fire at targets (or just fire because aim is a lofty goal for the younger ones). But WOW they are loud. I was plugging my ears. I can't imagine the noise level is good for adults, let alone kids. - Second, the lack of supervision. The employees were all gathered around the front entrance looking out toward the mall- not watching the kids playing inside the 'maze' or the toddler area. I saw a parent with shoes on, a bigger kid repeatedly shoving littler kids over to get to the slide (and then going down the slide in a dangerous way), etc- things that wouldn't fly at WiggleWorks. - Third, there's a rather strong plasticky smell which I'm hoping fades with time- although it does make me wonder how safe the building materials are. (Caveat: I'm pregnant so I may smell things normal people can't!) Overall: If you are actively in the maze with your kid and doing all the supervising (including of the other kids), it's well worth the tired kid you'll leave with! Just remember your socks and hope the other parents are watching their kids too. read more

Great place to bring your toddlers. Place is kept clean (including the bathrooms). However whenever there are parties the staff generally doesn't do the best job of monitoring the guests' height requirements. So what ends up happening is that kids who are older end up joining in on the equipment that little kids should only be playing on. I've personally had to ask the staff many times to escort the older (or too tall) children to their parents. 4 stars as it's definitely a great place & the family will always return. One star off for the lack of crowd and age control abilities. read more

My 20 month old absolutely loves this place. I love how big it is and that there's lots to play with. Everything seems clean and staff is kind. My only complaint is that I wish they'd be a little stricter on their policies of parents watching their children. EVERY time we go there are multiple parents sitting around and not watching their kids- almost like they're using the space as a daycare. Which in turn results in wild, unsupervised kids. Long review made short: love the place but don't love needing to parent other people's kids when they're rowdy with my daughter :) read more

Thanks to Blippi was made a stop here twice on a vacation. It's pretty awesome. We both played in the playtorium with our daughter. Felt like a kid again! Place was clean and the kids can just run and do their thing. Parents can sit out and watch or join in. They have snacks and drinks to buy. Always bring a pair of socks. The music was decent but low so you'll hear the kids scream more than the music. Overall, a great fun place!!! read more

My 3 year old daughter and I love this place. She's an active kid and I'm self employed... so we frequently need a place to go burn off some steam. We've been coming here since she was about 1.5 years old, which speaks to the various play features that provide fun for varying ages. She can't get enough of the recent addition of the 'tea cups' that she loves to spin in. It's also nice to walk around Factoria Mall before and after play time... to really give her the play time she needs. Target is just around the mall corner, so we tend to cruise through there too. I typically like to watch her play and have fun, but I always bring my laptop since I can usually find some time to fire off an email or few. read more

Great place to let your kiddos release their wiggles, my girls loved it when we visited Seattle area for our four day weekend. My 3 year old daughter played for hours in the smaller kid area while my 6 year old had a blast in the older kid area. Love how one day admission allows you to play for an unlimited amount of time. This is a great place to go on a rainy or extra cold day. There are many areas - spinning octopus, a "shooting gallery", an upper walkway obstacle course, spinner, a baby area., trampolines, slides, and party rooms. it's all very clean, and well run by friendly staff. Brought a bunch of kids from ages 1-10 for a couple hours of play on a Sunday and it was very packed! The only kid I had to keep my eyes always on was the one year old but the rest of the kids roamed all over the place enjoying all the obstacles that there was to offer. For a new place to check out in a mall that is not very packed and easy to get to I suggest a visit with the kids. They will definitely be tired out after the trip! read more

This place is a cross between playdate sea and wiggle works. my husband and I brought our 11 month old and 2 year old and both seemed as though they were having a good time! we came on a weekday from 6pm-8pm and it was pretty empty... Alright. So, my kid is having some nap issues and I was going to be in the area, so I decided it would be a good idea to try it again and wear out the boy. ;) Some of my opinions are still the same, and some are better. This time, I knew to have socks (their website is updated with that now, thankfully), so I was able to go everywhere with him. First off, getting there around opening is perfect. Not crowded yet, and he was able to explore a bit. The toddler area is still kind of lame. It's smallish, and once there are 4+ kids, it is overcrowded. There isn't much for them to do in it, and even my little one (15 months) was bored in that area and kept leaving to explore the rest of the place. The one toddler side is definitely better than the side with the octopus. The octopus seems like a waste of space. The kids that like it tend to be closer to the age of 3, and then they don't allow kids over that age on it. I'd rather see other toys/etc. there. Oh, the other difference from my last visit is that parents are allowed in the toddler area now (with socks). Thank goodness. For the big kid area, we had the most fun in the ball popping area. Outside of that, he was still too small to climb up to anything and explore any of the upper levels. He started getting bored (and hungry) after 75 minutes, so we left. $8 for 75 minutes seems a bit high...I will probably wait again for another few months before I try again. It was better than last time, and it is still cheaper than some other places, but it still seemed a bit boring for his age. As far as the staff and other parents....I was still disappointed in the front desk people. They don't seem to know anything about kids, and I wouldn't expect them to assist in any difficulties with other children. As far as the other parents, some are great (watching their kids, or even in there playing with them), but many are off in their own worlds. One girl tried to kick my kid repeatedly because she thought he was going to use her ball-popping gun. I just held my kid safely back and said oh, no, he doesn't want your gun...as her father stood there saying nothing. Another boy whose mom was not around (I saw her earlier so knew she wasn't this time) tried to push, pull, and hit my kid with a block. When I stepped in and asked him not to touch my son, he seemed quite confused. I know my kid is much smaller than other kids, but that doesn't mean other kids get to hit him. I haven't had this happen other places, so I am disappointed that it seems to be a trend here. I am half-heartedly bumping the rating to a 3, but it's kind of more a 2.5. read more

I came here last Saturday with my son (15 mo's) and boy was it packed! It could be because that it's the weekend or whoever reserved the back room. My son liked it here especially the ball area, he would not go anywhere else. I ran into some kids that were mean to my son and they were older a bit, I get that some toddlers are like that. But comparing it to the last two places I went to. I didn't run into kids like that, maybe it's just my first time here? But I'll come back again just so my son could get his energy out. The other area for younger kids seemed a little dirty and I kinda didn't like it... Lol, but whatever. I gave my son a bath when we got home. Other than that, my son liked playing here! My toddler girls have fun playing here. They are confined to the toddler area which is fine a spacious enough but can get crowded. The older kids often run into this area and pay no mind to the younger kids which is extremely dangerous as there is a trampoline that they'll jump on while babies are on there or they'll run quickly through bumping into little ones. I have a 4 and 6 yr old and this place is perfect for them when it's not so crowded. When I go on wednesdays around 2pm there is no wait and it's perfect for them to run around. I would not go during weekdays as it would be a total zoo and it's a bit dangerous for the smaller kids 3 and under to run around with the bigger kids. I don't understand what all the negative reviews are for....we brought a 2 and 4 year old and they had a blast. I would say a very young or timid child may not get the full experience out of it as climbing and maneuvering is part of the experience. It is as loud as you would expect an indoor play center to be. The staff is young but I did see them inside the play maze and regardless, I think it's the job of the parents/guardians to be supervising the children....not the staff. The most annoying part was having to wait in line to fill out the first time waiver when we got here because the kids really wanted to play. We always have a blast here. Kids love it! Every time I take my kids there, the place is full of other kids having great fun. Yeah, it is loud but kids do not seem to mind it all. It has plenty of space for parents to sit and chat. Or bring along your kindle or a book and read. They have free WiFi. Also they have pretty nice setup with counter height tables where you can sit and work on your computer. If the noise bothers make sure you bring your headphones. Basically, it is a place for kids to have fun. If you judge it by that it is nothing but a fantastic playground! read more

Funtastic Playtorium - Octopus you can ride on! - Playgrounds Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

I wish I can give this place zero stars for a poor response from staff. I am very upset and disappointed with them! We had a horrible experience today. While my 2+ yr old son was playing down the slide, an older kid about 8-10 yr old was walking up the slide and he grabbed my son's genitals. I was so shocked with what had happened. There was another little boy coming down the slide behind my son and this older boy did the same to this little boy as well. When I confronted him, he just moved on as if nothing had happened. After I informed the parents of the other little boy, I went to the front desk to complain about this inappropriate behavior. I spoke to a lady at the front desk and pointed out the boy who was behaving badly. I explained to her what had happened to my son and the other little boy and all I got for response was "Thank you for letting us know". That's it. Nothing about asking if my son was alright, or if I was feeling alright... who was the other little boy who had this terrible experience... talk to his parents... Nothing. I am feeling terrible with what happened to my son and I am even more upset with the way the staff responded to it. I brought my son here as this is supposed to be a kids friendly play area and I expect it to be a safe place for him... I expect the staff to take some responsibility to maintain safety and show compassion when such incidents happen on their premises and act accordingly. I am mainly writing this review to make parents and caregivers become more aware of such incidents and be cautious. Also, for the playtorium staff to bring in some rules of play and take action against inappropriate behavior. read more

I brought my nephews here because I saw it on Blippi and my nephews love him. My nephews had a blast but right when we got in, I noticed it smelled like feet. I have been to the indoor playground in Southcenter (Safari) many times and it didn't smell like it did here. Another thing I noticed was that in the "air soft guns" area the big cannon and the one where the balls dump on you were broken. The other toy where you put balls in and the ball floats up, was taped up and not repaired properly. There were kids climbing it and my older nephew was sitting in the bowl while it was about to fall over. The workers weren't paying attention and neither were the kids' parents so I had to tell them to get off before it fell on them which I don't really like to do because it's not my nephews place to be disciplining other people's kids but this was a safety thing where the tower like structure was about to fall on them. Safari, the workers actually keep an eye out and make sure the kids don't hurt themselves while here, the workers are just on their phones. I know parents are responsible for their own kids here but there should still be workers there to keep an eye out. I saw a kid fall from this trampoline where it had 2 levels of nets on top. The nets are spaced out so you can climb through but kids can easily fall through it. I don't think it is the safest thing to have there especially if the workers and parents aren't vigilant. I even saw a kid fall through while their parents were right there and he got scared. I was a little disappointed in this place. If they fixed there toys and had workers that were actually payinf attention, it'd be a lot better. read more

I am the mother of a two year old and a nanny to a one, six and seven year old. We go here all the time! And each age group always has fun. However, my two year old is big for his age, he's in the 99th percentile for height. When checking in today I told the woman at the counter that I had a 1 and a 2 year old. She proceeded to ring me up for an "under 3" and one "over 3" which I didn't notice until they put a yellow wrist band on my two year old. I clarified that he's only two and should get a red wrist band. She looked at me like I was crazy but said she would refund me for the overcharge. I didn't care about the money as much as my son being able to play where he should be allowed to, given the different area for toddlers. After we got the correct wrist band and a two dollar refund the woman told me to "just keep an eye on him." .... As if she knew my son at all. He might be big for his age but he is so gentle and kind hearted. I was disappointed by our customer service today when this is normally one of our favorite spots! read more

I'm a full time caregiver for two children on a weekly basis. I take my charges here almost weekly on weekday mornings as it's not very busy and usually fairly quiet. The staff does a great job tracking down crying kids and making sure they are ok. They also monitor the toddler area to make sure no older kids are in there. I find that awesome! I've never once thought it was dirty here either, and the bathrooms always seem clean as well. My biggest complaint is the pricing for "holidays and weekends." They charge the "all day rate" if the Bellevue school district is off school. None of the staff at the front desk could give me a good answer as to why this is. Like I said, I am a caregiver so I am scheduled to have specific duties during the day. We have limited time for outings. I have never once stayed beyond 2 hours as my charges have other activities, naps, meal times, and what not. I get wanting to offer it to people, but not giving the option seems crazy to me. The staff becomes very, VERY rude if you question this. So much so, another customer that I didn't even know came up to me after we entered (once the manager allowed us in at the normal rate - thank you), and asked me if I was ok because she felt I was treated poorly. The employees were that rude to not only me, but to another caregiver who came with me. The whole situation kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Which is a bummer because I liked this place. For $25 for less than 2 hours of being here, I'll probably not be returning. I'll continue to refer this place to other caregivers I know, but I will definitely be warning them about the lack of kindness at the front desk. read more

I visited for the first time today with my kids, 6 and 4, and my niece, aged 3. The older girls had a great time. My niece had an ok time. She wanted someone to go with her everywhere, which was difficult for me in the large play structure. I think it would be more fun for her when she is older. She was also overwhelmed by all the noise and lots of kids running and yelling. If we are ever back in the area we would consider going in again. And I think it would help if the toddler area was blocked off better, so the older kids would stay out to keep it safer for the little ones. When I was there I didn't even know it was the toddler area, it had plenty of kids in there that were too old. read more

Checked this place out with my 2.5 year old boy, and we had a blast! I actually was able to run around and experience all that he was experiencing in the play area. Bigger kids did get a little rowdy, but, easily handled with a simple verbal reminder, "watch out big kids, there's little a playing too". read more

This place is best for kids ages 8 to 14 or older. It's not very hands on so for toddlers it's not that fun. There's no supervision either so you have to watch the young ones like a hawk. The girls at the front desk sit on their cell phones and take money, that's it. We were there for 20 minutes before my 2.5 year old was begging to go home.
