Broken area has been neglected for years, toys paint come off and looking obsolete.
    Sophie W.

This place never ever fix or replace the damaged fixtures. I have seen the climbable castle top torn apart for 2 years, still nothing has been done. All of their wall-attahed toys are either broken or the paints have come off by excessive wear & tear for years. I know this place is free, but can't I expect a decent management of a place where our children play? I mean, this is Bellevue and we all expect more than this The worst annoyance is, no one cares about the height restriction. Often times I have seen tall 12 year olds playing in there. Their body size just don't fit to play here, because the slides & steps are designed for little children. 12 year olds are sitting on the castle occupying the whole top area, interrupting other kids' flow and motion. Also older kids are wild and fast running, they easily bump into other kids. My 1.5 year toddler gets hit hard by older kids a lot. Another turn-off is the dirty carpet. All adults wear outside shoes. Yes, the same shoes they've been wearing to public restrooms and downtown streets where dogs pee and birds poo on. Especially in pnw, it rains a lot and our shoes are wet, the carpet absorbs the moisture and get muggy and become the perfect spot for bacteria to harbor. Kids are rolling and crawing on it, Bellevue Square doesn't seem to clean the carpet often enough. I am even suspicious if they ever clean/ sanitize anything in this playground at all! Once someone spilled a coke on the Meydenbauer ship climber and its surface was totally sticky and messy. No one came to clean it, so I had to report it to one of Gymboree staffs.

Excellent place to hide out with a kid when the weather isn't pleasant outside. Located in Bellevue Square, an easy location to get to, park and just relax. Plenty of food options within a few steps if you get hungry. Taking off a star because it can get REALLY crowded sometimes, and some parents let their larger kids (above maximum height requirement) run around in there, which is dangerous for the intended audience -- toddlers...

The place is going to be crowded if you're there on a rainy early Saturday evening. (I blurred faces on this panoramic picture.)

My daughter had a lot of fun playing with all of the little ones in this play area. Although it is a bit crowded.

They do offer a small gift shop with various educational toys, activities and snacks, but they encourage parents to bring snacks. It's wheelchair friendly, but they do ask that you leave your stroller in the covered designated area, or in your car. We just brought our diaper bag and snacks, but visited the car a few times for snack breaks, which you're more than ok to do, as they allow you to come and go as you need to.

There are only about ten parking spots at the building, and nothing else within two blocks. You can't park at the library next door--there was a very over-zealous parking attendant questioning people who tried--and there's no street parking either. That's a real inconvenience in the rain with young children. I went on a Tuesday morning, and it was still very packed. It doesn't seem like they limit entry, and it felt overwhelming with so many kids. We did catch a storytime session, but it was hard to see or hear anything past the first row since the microphones weren't working. Overall, it was an okay experience --fun for little ones but very crowded and a bit pricey for a half-day activity.

We went as a small group of kids to try out a class on a Sat afternoon. Kids were exhausted after! They loved the fact that they got to learn from Tim Schnee who has competed on American Ninja Warrior 5 times. My son was really wanting to do the ramp like his friend and Tim was right there giving him pointers and cheering him on. The next run my son nailed it and was super proud. I love the enthusiasm the staff had for the activities. In the past, places that had activities even like this seemed to be run by high school kids who weren't really even interacting with kids. This was a legit professionally run ninja place. They set up a course that was challenging yet had all levels incorporated. There were short cuts built in to it. At the end they even had a green button/buzzer the kids could use to signal they completed the course. There's a bathroom and water fountain right there next to the course. No need to go outside at all into the 24 hour fitness area for anything. Lots of bench seating available for parents. If we weren't so stuck with sports on the weeknights and weekends already we'd sign up for the 6 week class. For now, I think it will be our new bday party spot or coming back for a drop in time. Thanks Tim for getting the kids pumped up today and making em all feel like real ninja warriors! Will def be back.

They have a small arcade area when you walk in. You can also pay to play with the steam tables in a different section. There are snacks and some bites of food sold inside. I didn't notice much people opting for it. I would def recommend bringing a water bottle in, they are $2.50 a bottle inside. There was free black coffee set out for parents, but I didn't see any creamer. Two restrooms inside that were big, nice and clean. The kids had fun jumping in the ball pit, foam pit, some trampoline. There is a fun beaded pit with some toys to play with. Great place to burn the kids energy for the day.

However, trying to book a party myself has been incredibly frustrating. I've called multiple times at different times of the day, and no one ever answers the phone. I also sent a message on Instagram, which wasn't seen until the next day, and even then, it was left on read with no response. For a business that is clearly active and posting, that level of communication is really disappointing. The lack of customer service makes it very difficult to move forward with booking, especially when the website doesn't clearly answer all questions. I prefer being able to speak to someone directly, and not having that option, or any response at all, is frustrating. It's unfortunate because we were genuinely excited to book here based on our previous experience, but the poor communication ultimately cost them our business.
